“If you want a place to go eat with dirty hands this is the one! Bathroom is always closed but there’s an alley not too far away. You can tell management really cares about the customer experience when they keep the bathroom closed from customers. And they even have tables, that alone would be a health department violation(tables without a working bathroom) but who has time to call them anyway? I think the stuff here is delicious but it could also be the flavor from the last customer on the door handle so who knows?“

As a Celiac with nut allergies it's an incredible relief to have a place where I can feel "safe" in my food choice. Gluten free DOES NOT MEAN healthy or organic, so don't come in here expecting that. In NYC I am absolutely in love with Modern Bread and Bagel and this is the closest thing to that on LI that I've found. It's not as good of quality, the ingredients here seem a bit cheaper (more oil, more corn), so the value for your $ is debatable, but it's a huge blessing just to have variety! I picked up their Thanksgiving menu and almost cried - it's every Thanksgiving food I can never have: the biscuits, pies, croutons, stuffing, gravy.

It's expensive. GF food usually is, and I think Bare Naked is reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaalllllly stretching it to the upper limit of what consumers consider acceptable. That said, at Modern Bread I think my bagel order is like $20, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Look, it's worth the price if you're dying to have something you can NEVER have otherwise. Obviously I hate that GF stuff is so expensive in general but that's the world we live in right now.

I also dislike that not all their products have ingredients listed. Many people with a gluten allergy also have other allergies or sensitivities so it puts our minds at ease to have as much information as possible. Their menus are incomplete too - there's tea options not listed anywhere (Stash brand).

The muffin I got tasted great and was a treat. The "cafe" aspect is iffy.... I probably wouldn't come here specifically for the tea/coffee but if you're coming for the food and want a drink, it's fine. There are a lot of teas available, none of them are listed anywhere (why??????) but the counter staff knew them by memory. I don't love that my "chai latte" came as a hot tea and I was directed to put milk in myself at the accessories counter. That's not really "cafe" kinda service.

I got a muffin and a chai latte for about $8, which is all right. Some of the other products are priced way higher.“

“The owner is a world class j**** He initiated a confrontation with me in the parking lot. I was going through my purchases when he said in a surly, tough guy manner: You're not going to return that, are you. I thought he was joking. I responded: No just checking to see if the order was correct. He then says: My kids are smart, It's the customers who are idiots. As he was backing his car out I must have had my WTF face on as I was shaking my head. He lowered his window and started in with an insane rant. Told him he was rude and insulting and I didn't want to hear it. He continued even as I got in my car. This guy was crazy enough that he could have gotten violent. The sad part is, for years I have been patronizing Fiorello Dolce even though it is a 20 minute drive from home. I have also recommended them to several people as the best bakery around. You can be sure of two things: I will never go back there again and I will share this story with as many people as possible.“

“I stopped in to Emilia’s Bakehouse Café on Walt Whitman Rd in Melville yesterday (they have another location in E. Northport) and boy, was I glad I did! I entered into a well-lit shop filled with pastries, scones, cookies, brownies, croissants, breads and quiches, etc. and was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by 2 attractive young ladies. It was a great vibe just being there, very stress relieving. The chocolate brownie is perfection in texture and taste! The scones and peanut butter coconut power bites are delicious! Their organic Colombian coffee is the bomb, and you can get it with your favorite milk - for me it’s Oat Planet oat milk. Stop in, it’ll make your day! A feast for the eyes and tastebuds :)“

I go especially for their fresh goods - baklava, spanakopita, tiropita, galaktoboureko, kourabiedes, koulourakia, melomakarona, etc. Everything is so fresh and so delicious. They have a small hot case with the spanakopita and tiropita, so you can get a piece ready to eat. The people there are so nice as well. Good variety of cheeses and frozen goods too. One star removed for convenience of store hours. They are only open during the day, Monday to Friday. I wish they would consider opening on Saturday, if even for a few hours, or staying open past 4pm a few times a week.“

“We moved from Howard Beach 2 years ago. We bought a house in Dollard Drive. I usually walk my dog every day. I stopped by this bakery. Most of the time I will leave my dog outside, while I purchase bread & pastries. I dont know if the Woman that is always there is the owner, but she is the nicest person i ever met. I am a regular attendee of this bakery. Since I had throat cancer, I really can't speak so I carry my phone with me for messaging. Every day I usually buy bread a cannoli or Apple turnover. I point to the lady what I want. Many times there are young ladies working the counter. They are all wonderful and helpful. Now they let me and my Dog enter the bakery. He is very well behaved, most of time i buy a small cannoli for Duke. My Wife loves the Cannoli & the Apple turnover. I always leave a tip for them. Whether us winter, summer, rain, snow, heat i have to stop and get a pastry or bread. The name if the Bakery is appropriate. They are the ultimate.“

“I love this place, much better than other delis in the area. However, they are a bit more pricey than the others. Bagels are always delicious and the staff are always friendly and kind. One big reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because the staff do not change their gloves regularly. They will touch cash, the register, other things around the store, and then go touch your bagel. Disgusting! Either have 1 hand for food and the other for money or just change your gloves between orders.“
