“If you want a place to go eat with dirty hands this is the one! Bathroom is always closed but there’s an alley not too far away. You can tell management really cares about the customer experience when they keep the bathroom closed from customers. And they even have tables, that alone would be a health department violation(tables without a working bathroom) but who has time to call them anyway? I think the stuff here is delicious but it could also be the flavor from the last customer on the door handle so who knows?“

“The owner is a world class j**** He initiated a confrontation with me in the parking lot. I was going through my purchases when he said in a surly, tough guy manner: You're not going to return that, are you. I thought he was joking. I responded: No just checking to see if the order was correct. He then says: My kids are smart, It's the customers who are idiots. As he was backing his car out I must have had my WTF face on as I was shaking my head. He lowered his window and started in with an insane rant. Told him he was rude and insulting and I didn't want to hear it. He continued even as I got in my car. This guy was crazy enough that he could have gotten violent. The sad part is, for years I have been patronizing Fiorello Dolce even though it is a 20 minute drive from home. I have also recommended them to several people as the best bakery around. You can be sure of two things: I will never go back there again and I will share this story with as many people as possible.“

As a Celiac with nut allergies it's an incredible relief to have a place where I can feel "safe" in my food choice. Gluten free DOES NOT MEAN healthy or organic, so don't come in here expecting that. In NYC I am absolutely in love with Modern Bread and Bagel and this is the closest thing to that on LI that I've found. It's not as good of quality, the ingredients here seem a bit cheaper (more oil, more corn), so the value for your $ is debatable, but it's a huge blessing just to have variety! I picked up their Thanksgiving menu and almost cried - it's every Thanksgiving food I can never have: the biscuits, pies, croutons, stuffing, gravy.

It's expensive. GF food usually is, and I think Bare Naked is reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaalllllly stretching it to the upper limit of what consumers consider acceptable. That said, at Modern Bread I think my bagel order is like $20, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Look, it's worth the price if you're dying to have something you can NEVER have otherwise. Obviously I hate that GF stuff is so expensive in general but that's the world we live in right now.

I also dislike that not all their products have ingredients listed. Many people with a gluten allergy also have other allergies or sensitivities so it puts our minds at ease to have as much information as possible. Their menus are incomplete too - there's tea options not listed anywhere (Stash brand).

The muffin I got tasted great and was a treat. The "cafe" aspect is iffy.... I probably wouldn't come here specifically for the tea/coffee but if you're coming for the food and want a drink, it's fine. There are a lot of teas available, none of them are listed anywhere (why??????) but the counter staff knew them by memory. I don't love that my "chai latte" came as a hot tea and I was directed to put milk in myself at the accessories counter. That's not really "cafe" kinda service.

I got a muffin and a chai latte for about $8, which is all right. Some of the other products are priced way higher.“

“After a small mishap with my daughters birthday cake, not only did they go out of their way to make things right and I mean out of their way, but the cake itself was incredible—moist, flavorful, and beautifully decorated exactly what I had envisioned. “I stopped in to Emilia’s Bakehouse Café on Walt Whitman Rd in Melville yesterday (they have another location in E. Northport) and boy, was I glad I did! I entered into a well-lit shop filled with pastries, scones, cookies, brownies, croissants, breads and quiches, etc. and was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by 2 attractive young ladies. It was a great vibe just being there, very stress relieving. The chocolate brownie is perfection in texture and taste! The scones and peanut butter coconut power bites are delicious! Their organic Colombian coffee is the bomb, and you can get it with your favorite milk - for me it’s Oat Planet oat milk. Stop in, it’ll make your day! A feast for the eyes and tastebuds :)“

“My wife was looking for a bakery who made eggless cakes and she stumbled upon this bakery by chance. She ordered a custom made gulab jamun flavored eggless cakes and. It was definitely one of the best cakes I had especially for my birthday. My folks also grabbed a few puffs - mixed vegetable and paneer puffs while they went to grab the cake. “Great little Greek grocery store and bakery. I go especially for their fresh goods - baklava, spanakopita, tiropita, galaktoboureko, kourabiedes, koulourakia, melomakarona, etc. Everything is so fresh and so delicious. They have a small hot case with the spanakopita and tiropita, so you can get a piece ready to eat. The people there are so nice as well. Good variety of cheeses and frozen goods too. One star removed for convenience of store hours. They are only open during the day, Monday to Friday. I wish they would consider opening on Saturday, if even for a few hours, or staying open past 4pm a few times a week.“

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Angela at Dortoni Bakery for our wedding cake, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Angela was attentive, kind, easygoing, and just so easy to connect with. From the very first meeting, she made the process feel fun and effortless — exactly what we needed in the middle of wedding planning.

Having grown up enjoying Italian pastries from Dortoni my whole life, getting our wedding cake from them was incredibly special to me — and Angela made it even more meaningful. We brought in a few inspiration photos and flavor ideas, and she took it from there — creating a massive, beautiful, custom cake that completely blew us (and our guests) away. She perfectly incorporated succulent accents and gave us the best of both worlds with cannoli cream and lemon custard fillings — a flavor combo that turned out to be a huge hit.

“This store has been our favorite family store for years, ever since my firstborn was a toddler (and now he’s over 10!). This place is like a mini amusement park for kids. There are buttons to press, characters to wave to, music, animatronics: it keeps them entertained while I try to get some shopping done.

We especially love their seasonal events. Around Halloween, they always have cute themed setups and candy stops for the kids, which makes every visit feel like a little adventure. And let’s not forget the ice cream: honestly, that’s our main reason for coming sometimes! The vanilla is a classic, and the rewards program lets you collect points for free coffee or a sweet treat, which is a total mom-win after a long day.

While I don’t do my main grocery haul here (they don’t carry everything), it’s an easy, enjoyable shopping trip, low-stress and family-friendly. Their sushi is surprisingly decent and made fresh on-site. They also have a hot food bar, some items are hit or miss for my taste, but the soups are consistently good.

We’ve also enjoyed the lobster rolls and the fun weekend BBQ setup outside in the summer - burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill, which adds to the experience.

The staff is always friendly, and the whole store just has a warm, welcoming vibe. If you’re a parent on Long Island, this is definitely a spot to check out (especially if your kids are cranky and you need coffee and entertainment in one place!).“
