I tried Vietnamese food for the first time here, and I'm glad I did! The woman who appeared to be the owner/manager was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I dined in and had the seafood pho and the traditional banh mi, both delicious. I rarely take food home but had leftover pho that still tasted good the next day.The space was much smaller than I expected (cozy, not cramped), so parties of four or fewer are probably best.
The air is getting chilly and we turn to our jackets to salvage in the ball of warmth. Finding a pho spot nearby Astoria is quite a challenge however we stumbled across this local spot. My friend and I ordered the beef pho and her husband ordered the pork banh Mi. We also shared fried shumai for the apps. You're obviously not going to get the same deliciousness as being in Vietnam but unfortunately this Pho wasn't great. Lacks flavor and I had to get more condiments to make the best of it. District Saigon is an alternative option but unfortunately they weren't open till 5pm.
