Culture Lab LIC Sandwich Shop • $$
5-25 46th Ave, Queens

“What an amazing place. I moved to LIC months ago and immediately identified that Culture Lab was a great community hub. From motorcycles to art work to comedy shows, they have it all, and they support it all. I loved it so much I became a volunteer. If you want to experience LIC, the arts, and a great community of humans doing the right things, please check out Culture Lab!

And no, they didn't ask me to write this. I just love this place and what they are doing.“

“I came here for a bite with one of my friends after a morning workout class and it wasn't a bad spot! Located just on the outskirts of central LIC, it's a bit out of the way, but not hard to get to. They have some bar/window seating, but no tables. It's much more of a casual pick-up spot, if anything. Service was fairly quick.

Their menu contains banh mi, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, and a variety of drinks (as well as baked goods in their displays). I got their grilled chicken and pork banh mi and my friend got their pork banh mi. Overall, it was better than I thought and not bad at all! The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and super warm. They were generous with the portions and gave lots of veggies, which I loved (I wish their pickled carrots and radish were just a bit crunchier though). The marinade for the meats was also well done! I would note that they used American mayo (as opposed to Vietnamese mayo) for the banh mi, which was super noticeable to me. Overall, not a bad spot for Vietnamese banh mi in LIC.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I absolutely love the Subway in Astoria! The menu is always fresh and full of options from classic subs and wraps to healthy salads and delicious cookies, there’s truly something for everyone. But what really sets this location apart is the amazing customer service from the management and staff.

Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with a smile and treated like family. They always remember my usual order and often surprise me with little freebies, like a cookie or a drink, which makes my day.

I’m especially impressed by how fast they are—on my lunch break, they had my sandwich ready in literally 120 seconds! The team here is efficient, friendly, and genuinely cares about their customers’ experience. Thank you so much to everyone at Subway Astoria for making each visit a pleasure. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

“I ordered a cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday. We exchanged a few emails finalizing the design, a Sesame Street themed cake based on a few reference photos I found. Not only was it decorated more beautifully than I imagined but it was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had - funfetti with vanilla creme. I had a last minute request for some cookies to give as favors and Hope saved the day with funfetti sugar cookies to match, also incredibly delicious. My new go-to bakery, Hope is an absolute dream to work with with!“

“This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is stunning!! Some italian classics and some twists, amazing wines and for their prices it's 100% worth it. Love this place and I can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in NYC.“

“There's a reason this place has been in business for over 100 years. Worth the trip to Red Hook just to eat a sandwich. Trust me and take my word for it, you will not find a better sandwich anywhere in New York City, Philadelphia, or probably even the whole East Coast. Again, worth a special trip. ?“

“Another visit to Faicco's on another trip to NYC was just as good as always. We loved the Rice, Prosciutto, and Potato Balls. The only gripe was the Fried Ravioli. It was not good with hard ravioli and hard cheese even after heating up. We only ate half of the dozen we ordered and that was too many. Can't beat the prices though! Great service otherwise!“
