“I’ve eaten multiple times at Our Kitchen and have always had a great experience - the food, staff, service and atmosphere have always been wonderful. However yesterday was the first time, we utilized (or attended) an event in their private room upstairs and I cannot say enough good things about it. We celebrated my 70th birthday and everything was perfect. The food was delicious (served family style and there was plenty of it!), the food and bar service was great, the room itself was perfect (a very nice room with lots of space for the kids to run around) and Melanie was so easy to work with! I highly recommend Our Place for lunch, dinner and in particular, for your private event!”

“It was so nice to come back to Himalaya after so many years! My first visit was in 2013 when I had just become vegetarian, and I returned again in 2017 as a new vegan. Now, as a 9-year vegan, I was excited to see that they still offer so many delicious vegan-friendly options.

I started with a red sangria, then the Steamed Veg Momos, which were fresh, handmade, and packed with a flavorful mix of vegetables. The Lasooni Gobi was perfectly crispy with a delicious Himalayan sauce.

For entrees, I ordered the Veg Thali, Tadka Dal, and the Veg Korma. The Veg Thali was a wonderful way to sample several classic dishes, the Tadka Dal was comforting and full of aromatic spices, and the Veg Korma was rich, creamy, and made with a dairy-free cashew-based sauce. I also enjoyed the paratha made without butter, which paired perfectly with the curries. It’s the best I’ve had!

Himalaya is a wonderful family-owned restaurant. The food is consistently flavorful, the staff is welcoming, and they do an excellent job accommodating vegan diners.

Whether you’re vegan or simply looking to try authentic Nepali cuisine, I highly recommend stopping by. I’m so glad I came back, and it definitely won’t be another several years before my next visit!”

“Ordered a Greek salad, it was huge and had stuffed grape leaves, olives and other traditional ingredients along with plenty of feta cheese. The waiter was very friendly and personable.

“Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my sister, we started with steamed mussels in red sauce & divine bread. We ordered their Sunday sauce with Meatball,sausage,spare rib, bracelets on rigatoni W/a dollop of Ricotta cheese. Couldn’t finish all of it took the rest home. It was excellent!! served with crispy garlic bread. No room for desert. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back.”

“Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Nino is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He helped me figure out how much food to order for my daughter's birthday party, and what food to get, and he even told me to give him a call if we were running low and he would have some pizzas delivered right away. The food was delicious, especially the chicken francese and the penne vodka. I'll definitely be using Putnam Valley Market to cater whatever party we throw next! Also, had a chance to try their pizza this week -- so good!”

“A true hidden gem in Mahopac. Their pho is solid, but my family comes here primarily for the awesome Sichuan food. They execute it really well, and they don't hold back on the mala (numbing and spicy, the signature combo of Sichuan cuisine) which is honestly really surprising for this area, where most other Chinese restaurants serve highly Americanized food. Favorites include the wok fried green beans, sauteed chicken with green pepper, kung pao chicken, and Sichuan chili chicken. For many of these stir-fried dishes, they are better fresh out of the wok in the restaurant rather than takeout.”

“Just left a crazy Thursday night at IL Forno. What a fun and enjoyable evening we had. We walked in with no reservations and the manager snuck us right in and we even got to the listen to an amazing singer. We have been here a few times, this was by far the most fun we had. Everyone was laughing. The staff which seems to be plenty was having a good time. The manager and Owners kept walking around and making sure all was good and everyone was happy. Thank you for restoring our fun Thursday evening with no COVID fears.”

“Food is always amazing, and I will never stop going there, but one thing confuses me. Every time I order a gluten free meal for takeout, there is a giant hunk of bread in the bag. With the gluten free meal. After calling and indicating a gluten allergy. So my wife has to remove the bread and clean the container before I can eat. It's worth the trouble, but it seems like a no-brainer that when someone orders gluten free, there shouldn't be bread in the bag.”
