When I first arrived here, I was a little doubtful of my decision to come, as this restaurant is quite simple and easy to miss. I decided to go in after seeing several other people come in. I ordered chicken chicharrones with tostones and was told it would be a short wait for them to be made fresh. It wasn't a long wait and I saw the very generous portions of food I was getting. I also ordered a large chicken soup. The price was very fair and everyone who worked in the restaurant was very friendly. Being able to speak Spanish is an advantage but not completely necessary. Let me tell you something, the delicious fragrance emanating from the food was almost impossible to resist on the way home, and it made my car smell better than any air freshener. The soup was ridiculously delicious, filled with chicken and vegetables and just amazing. Even my cats couldn't resist the aroma and taste of chicken. The chicharrones were a little overcooked but still incredibly delicious. I'm so glad I found this place and I could really go here every day. I recommend anyone to stop by here and enjoy their delicious food.Parking: It's a little difficult to find parking right in front of this place, but there is ample free parking on the side streets.“

“I'd forgotten how much I loved the old Corona lunch turned Ambar Restaurant and recently rediscovered it while in the area craving Dominican food. Great new location with parking and tables instead of the old counter service. I was informed they only serve Sancocho on Monday and Wed. So we had the seafood soup and Oxtail stew instead. The seafood soup came with big pieces of lobster in the shell and was served with a lobster cracker. There was tons of shellfish and seafood as well in a rich delicous soup. The oxtail was divine. We came back two days later just for the Sancocho. Service was great. I highly recommend!“

“Such an amazing restaurant! Food was extremely tasty. Hospitality was exceptional. Staff was very kind and welcoming. The owner was very inviting. He ensured we were pleased during our visit. We’re so sad we would pass by this spot all the time and never stopped by before. We will definitely be coming back again. Can’t wait to try other plates from the menu.“

“Ordered from the Yelp App twice for delivery. First time, delivered on schedule. I enjoyed the food, my companions didn't. Second order, delivered on time. I again enjoyed the food and this time so did the others. No complaints here. La Reina has been around a few years, and appears to be holding their own amongst the other neighborhood Latin restaurants within the area. Our orders have been tasty and seem to be freshly made. We haven't dined in, so uncertain if that's an option. Driving by, their inside seems tiny, though their outward appearance is rustic and inviting.It is important to note, food-wise we are not in The Heights where full on authenticity is prevalent. Having this Latin restaurant as an option in the area allows us the opportunity to order from here again.“
