“I happened to be walking by on Sunday so stopped in for lunch. I’m so glad I did - this place is awesome! I haven’t had much West African food but it was all very flavorful and well prepared. They have a number of sets you can order that come with a meat and a couple sides - I went with the yassa grilled chicken and it was delicious. It’s in the African cultural center and I found the space really nice abd decorated with beautiful photography. I’ll be back!“

“Having traveled all the way from Canada, our visit to this restaurant was truly extraordinary. The service stood out immediately, with our waitress providing insightful menu explanations and excellent recommendations for our group of four, which turned out to be spot on.The food itself was outstanding. From appetizers to main courses, each dish was bursting with flavor and spices that made every bite a delight. Eating with our hands added an extra layer of enjoyment, engaging all our senses in the experience. Even those in our group who weren't vegan were thoroughly impressed.The restaurant's cozy and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall charm. “10-10, it was my first trying fufu and jolof. The lady in the front was soooo sweet and let us try some turkey wings since it was our first time trying that type of food. I absolutely loved my soup and chicken with the fufu it was sooooo good. I’ve been telling everyone about it so many more people should be heading you guys way. I absolutely loved it.“

“Great spot for date ?No house wine but bartender’s wine choice was awesome.I live near this neighborhood and weekend was always full. So I visited here on Tuesday night.One little thing from my own perspective : Weird restroom ?Downstairs (bit steep stairs) and you can watch people preparing food near the restroom entrance ? wasn’t a big deal for me but I thought it was interesting to watch the cooking area.“

“I was invited by a friend to watch the game at Yop City during the african cup of nations which is a massive football/soccer tournament in africa and it was an amazing discovery for me. The food tasted delicious and the service was impeccable. I would definitely reccommend this restaurant to everyone.“

“All good things...must come to an end. I was a little saddened to find out the previous owners Jean-Luc and Lucette retired already. Our visits to this neighborhood gem are like going to friends' homes for dinner. We are going to really miss their smiles. It is their granddaughter Marie managing the place now. They should be very proud of how she carried on their legacy. On our recent visit, we had soup sampler (French onion soup, carrot soup, potato soup) and oysters as appetizers. All the soups were yummy good and the oysters very fresh. We had the quails and frogs legs as mains. They tasted great and good portions sizes too. My significant other especially liked the zucchini that came with the entrees. We took home our desserts (cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake) and opt for the special strawberry souffle. It is so gooood. The twilight menu also came with salad for less than $40. Specials are extra and our bill came out to around $120 before tax. It is well worth every penny. We also wanted to thank our lady server, too. She was attentive and friendly. Basically has a little "lucette" touch in her. Thank you !!“

“So I was excited to find Ghanaian food in walking distance. I ordered the Waakye combo and I was not happy at all. Goat was tuff and fish was dry. Couldn't eat it. Feeling disappointed and angry. I also ordered a second plate, the fried rice chicken combo. I started to not eat it after the first plate but when I did WOW! Redemption! Everything was perfect and the flavor was amazing.I say this with love. If it is not right don't serve it. Yes I wanted Ghanaian food but I also wanted to support the business. Win brother by doing it right with all off the food. You got this ?.“

“What would a nice Jewish boy from the Bronx know about Senegalese food? Enough to know a FANTASTIC restaurant when he eats in one. Africa Kine's Dibe Mutton--marinated, spiced lamb chops--are simply off-the-charts. Also wonderful is the Pintade, which in Union Square Market is called "guinea fowl" and sells for $20/lb.It is as though an entire chicken were dark meat, and at Africa Kine it is roasted to perfection. And the whole fried snapper was delectable. Order two entrees for three people, because portions here are very generous. Did I mention the Joloff rice? It is magnificent. The dining room of the restaurant is simple and homey, and you see families, and girls' night out, and some men eating alone, all in a welcoming space that feels like a tavern, minus the alcohol. All three times I visited my waiter was the astute Papui (I am not spelling it correctly) whose bouncing braids crown a very smart head and a megawatt smile. He contributes no small part to what gives you the feeling you have discovered a great place at Africa Kine. Now if I could just learn to pronounce Ngalakh. HIghly recommended.“

“This place has the beat authentic African dishes. If you don't see your favorite, ask for it. They may have it. I am so simple, but I am here to review and consume. So let me tell you, the food is magnificent amazing, and I will definitely be back. What a beautiful slice of African right in our own backyard. “Best African restaurant in The Bronx.You should try they potato leaf sauce which come with rice on Friday and also they have a good Dibi( grilled Lamb) with Salad ? as they have the best Salad and salad dressing.Vegetarian options: Potato leaf sauce, Chiep which come with a lot of vegetables, salad, etc…“

“Absolutely delicious! Came twice in a span of 5 days. This is a hidden gem that l wish l knew about sooner. Portions are insane, the taste is authentic and fresh and it feels like you’re eating straight from a Senegalese home. 100% recommend. Prices are unmatchable on top of that.“

“A good place to get Ethiopian food if you're in UWS. We came in after a while and the quality of the food remains quite good. Though we were a bit disappointed to see that the prices have increased 25-30% since about a year back. So a sampler for two would cost you $50 (vs $38 earlier).“

“My limited knowledge of Ghanaian cuisine did not hinder my appreciation of the fantastic flavors on offer at Tasty Budz. The Jollof and Chicken caught my attention right away and did not disappoint! This is no simple rice dish; it is heavily flavored and cannot be easily dismissed as a side dish! The chicken was also packed with flavor, perfectly tender, and complemented the rice wonderfully.The "Morning Dew" smoothie was another treat. I don't recall all its ingredients, but the blend of almonds and banana created a creamy, indulgent treat that balanced the spice of the Jollof beautifully.Tasty Budz is a must-visit, especially if you've never experienced Ghana's culinary landscape! Can't wait to try more.“
