“Every single staff member was pleasant, makes it easier to enjoy the experience. Even the valet staff was friendly and funny and easy to park. The place was clean and very aesthetically pleasing, even the restroom area was nice and clean inside and out. Brunch food was good, every one of my guests finished their food quickly with not one person having an issue with their meal (party of 9). I can say so many good things about my experience so I would recommend for others to visit here as well.“

“A different venture from your regular Dykman experience. It is an intimate, sophisticated culinary experience inspired by owner Felix Abarca's birthplace Ecuador. Fusing rich flavors found in Ecuadorian cuisine with its food and beverage program they offer an experience in the shape of a glass or plate.Staff is always inviting and on point. Place is always immaculate and organized. Live music on the weekends by local artist or even the bartender "extrangero music" is always of great taste and not too loud.Pop-up and collaborations with chefs or bartenders happen regularly. The amazing wine list is unique and curated by a great connoisseur and wine enthusiast, the owner Felix. The coziness of this place is what makes it even more special.“

“This was a dope spot in the Bronx. Went here for brunch with my family. Spanish vibe music nice. Food was great! I love me a great skirt steak with chimichurri and this was a good one. It could have been lil more on the well side but other than that no issues! Them potatoes was mad good and the eggs was light and buttery!!!! YummmThe waiter was kind and attentive. Not a long wait. The lady at the front was extremely accommodating. She wasted to get us a table for us and our two year old but the one they did have available was perfectly fine and good for us. I appreciated that she considered my child when seating us.“

“As a Peruvian I have been to a fair share of Peruvian restaurants and also recently to Peru as well but I have to say this place takes the crown for best chicken. The food is incredible and you can tell that everything is made in house. I absolutely loved the food as well as the experience and would personally like to thank the owners for making my friend and I feel at home. I will definitely be coming back with my family. Thank you!!!!!!!“

“First off the staff are amazing - warm and friendly. Like you just walked into someone’s home. They patiently guided us through the menu, and brought out frozen glasses with our perfectly chilled beer. Ordered the chicken and pork stews with a side of plantains, everything was delicious. Almost made 5 stars - could have been slightly less salty and it would’ve!“

“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! This is the freshest, best Peruvian in NYS!!! I WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS AND DECADES IN BUSINESS!“

“What a blast! The food, the atmosphere, the service and wow the drinks! We were killing time to head back home and met up with family that were already there. The fried shrimp dumplings was so good! And the wings!? Wow! The drinks by far were the highlight of the night. Were definitely going back with some time to chill.“

“Delicious and fabulous service! The service workers recommended the passion fruit tres leches and it was fabulous; the passion fruit layer added some tartness to the otherwise sweet cake.Out of abundant generosity they also gifted me a piece of their traditional tres leches cake. It was also delicious but definitely more sweet, without the fruit layer. Recommended with coffee!“

“This place is really different. I love the Vinyl when you come in. The hostess was pleasant and told us to wait at the bar. The bartender immediately came over and showed us how to scan the cocktail menu. The atmosphere is young and loud. The table service was amazing. The young lady who attended us made accommodations for us without a fuss. The food was good. The Sangria was flowing. Did not feel rushed. All in all a great experience. I live in South Jersey but I would definitely come back!!!❤️❤️❤️“

“One of my favorite places in NYC.Food, Service and Ambience are always amazing here.Live music from local artist Thursday to Sunday. The secret to the success of this establishment is the staff. They are hard working, attentive, and always make you feel welcomed, like family. Bartenders usually know what you are drinking when you come back the 3rd time and are always quick to serve, even when there is no space at the bar. In the kitchen is the matriarch, Mama Henry, the Owners mother. She makes every sauces, flan, beans, and many more items from scratch.Happy Hours are from open to 7:00PM on weekdays, their sangria, margaritas are strong and on point and come in many fresh fruit flavors. Some must haves on the tapas are the empanadas, mofonguitos, pulpo, tostones and chorizo, bacon wrapped dates, canastitas de bacalao, for mains the churrasco, paella and salmon are amazing.I used to bartend here for 6 years and I never once was tired of the food, this place is like family to me.Truly a neighborhood gem.“

“Everything is great tbh. I love the vegan nac and the sancocho. The mofonguitos are ok but the chickn cheddar sandwich is AMAZING. Pulled pork sandwich is out of this world! The vegan chimi, empanadas, and loaded nachos, are all really yummy. The buffalo cauliflower is my least favorite because the batter just kinda falls off and its more kushy than crunchy. The place itself is tiny but cute and clean and the staff are friendly! The only issue is menu consistency. Sometimes they dont have certain menu items for extended periods of time. Not sure why it just is. One time they sisnt have the vegan mac for a week. They always have the sancocho but today they don't and I'm not sure when they'll have it again. Also the number listed doesn't work, it doesn't even ring. I'd say if you don't see it on Uber Eats they don't have it.“

“I came here on a random late Saturday night with a friend looking for a spot to get a drink and maybe have some luck in finding a place still open to serve some appetizers. It was to our surprise that the kitchen was fully open after 10pm! My friend ordered the Salmon and I got the Ceasar salad which was very delicious, however, I regretted not ordering the mofongo. People that ordered around me had me craving it! The DJ was really good too; played old school music and currents ones. All the servers provided great customer service. What I liked the most was the crowd- it was almost empty and everyone was just living their best life dancing on their chairs and playing games. If you’re young and single looking for a place to meet people; I doubt this is the place. Everyone was in their late 30s and older hanging out after the brunch crowd went on their merry way. I will be going back again with more friends to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor and plenty of space“

“This restaurant used to be located more further down on westchester ave. It was called Monte de oro (gold mountain). I used to go there when I was a kid to a teenager. Then, it closed down. Thank god it relocated more up westchester ave. Under the name of el pabellon de oro (the flag of gold) It still had the same waiters & owner so I knew the food would be the same(delicious). It is a Chinese Spanish fusion. My go to dish is the steak w/ shrimp fried rice & plantano maduros(sweet plantains). Staff is ok. I like that the inside has a fish tank. It also has a lobster tank where you pick your own lobster. They had this in the old restaurant. The environment is just ok. I really came for the delicious food!!!“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. My boyfriend took me here on a whim and said I had no idea what I was missing and he was right. “As always, I’ll rate each category individually because people have different priorities.Atmosphere- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The decor is beautiful, nice and modern style. Music is played a bit loud for my personal liking but this is considered a positive to some.Food- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everything I and my party ate was full of flavor, no complaints. I had the jumbo shrimp al ajillo, I also tried fried calamari, bacalao spread, and dulce de leche from members of my party. In regards to drinks, my ONLY criticism is that the bar does not have soda on tap, it’s canned. This may seem like no big deal to some but it’s a personal pet peeve of mine. I did not have any alcoholic drinks, however the members of my party were pleased with theirs.Service- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The staff is very attentive, professional, and quick on their feet.Speed- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No complaints, the time it took for our food to arrive was satisfactory in the context of it being a larger party and on a busy Saturday night.Price- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of the entrees are a bit overpriced in the context of their portion size. For example, the $32 jumbo shrimp al ajillo being 5 shrimps with the tostones making up more than half of the dish seemed excessive. This was also the case of the burger (which was rather small, the fries making up the majority of the meal) as well as the ropa vieja.Overall a nice place for a date or family outing.“

“Very glad we gave this place a try. My husband's family is from Ecuador so we know the food and this place is doing it well. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and flavored. Very authentic. The ladies serving were great and very attentive. I will definitely be back when I want authentic Ecuadorian food and don't want to cook it myself. Only tip they don't serve alcohol (don't know why...a nice beer with this food would be amazing) and bring cash they do not take credit cards.“

“I recently visited this Spanish chicken restaurant and overall had a positive experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating a pleasant environment for a meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, contributing to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Now, let's delve into the highlight—the Spanish chicken. While the dishes were tasty, I couldn't help but feel that they fell slightly short of my expectations. The chicken was well-cooked, but there was a subtle element missing that would have elevated it to perfection. Perhaps a bit more seasoning or a unique twist could have added that extra flair.Despite this minor critique, the menu offered a diverse selection of Spanish-inspired dishes. The appetizers, such as patatas bravas and chorizo croquettes, showcased the chef's creativity and commitment to traditional flavors. The presentation was noteworthy, with each dish appearing as a carefully crafted masterpiece. The drink menu was well-curated, featuring a selection of Spanish wines and cocktails. The sangria, in particular, was a delightful complement to the meal, adding to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. The dessert, churros with chocolate dipping sauce, was a sweet ending to the meal. The churros were well-prepared, offering a satisfying conclusion to the culinary journey. In conclusion, while the overall experience was positive, I've rated this restaurant four stars as I believe there is room for improvement in the flavor profile of the Spanish chicken. I still recommend this establishment for its ambiance, attentive service, and creative menu, with the hope that the culinary aspects can reach“

“We decided to have dinner here before a show at the United Palace and it was a good choice. Since we couldn't take leftovers with us we split an order of lomo saltado and one of tostones, and both were delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and patient as we figured out what we wanted to order. Service was quick but not rushed, and at 5:30 on a Saturday it was busy but not crowded. “La Casa de Frida emerges as a stellar happy hour destination, perfect for those seeking a swift libation. Boasting two distinct happy hour specials--running from 12 to 5 and another from 5 to 7--the spot delivers not only variety but also affordability. While the drink specials shine, the culinary offerings fall short of the happy hour pricing ethos, presenting full-priced wings, quesadillas, and tacos. Despite this culinary mismatch, the prospect of returning solely for the libations remains alluring. La Casa de Frida excels in crafting drinks that tantalize the taste buds, promising a delightful journey to tipsiness by the third round.Noteworthy is the commendable service; during our visit, my companion and I decided to explore a special $30 shot of Patron Alto, intrigued by its novelty. To our surprise, the establishment went above and beyond by generously gifting us another expensive shot on the house, acknowledging our curiosity and enhancing our overall experience. This gesture adds an extra layer of satisfaction to the visit, creating a positive memory that encourages a return for both the drinks and the exceptional service.“
