Everything from the presentation of the food to the food itself ( delectable) to the passing of wine and dessert to the clean up ( she left my kitchen spotless) was exceptional. My guests could not stop raving about the food for the entire afternoon (and for days afterwards!). She was also very intuitive about what was needed in the moment. And she and her assistant worked completely independently so I was able to enjoy my party. I recommend her most highly.“
“We are full-time wedding photographers who did not have the pleasure of working at the Glen Island Harbour Club until January 2025. Winter weddings can be tough if you are not at an iconic location with extensive interiors conducive to photography meant to maximize the natural and ambient light, but in this case, it was perfect! The bridal suite was stupendous and the guys had a perfect place to get ready, too. All the areas had a lot of daylight considering it was the darkest time of the year and were elegantly furnished. The spaces all complimented the chosen scarlet red and classic tux look. We went outdoors for a bit despite the cold and windy day and loved the views of the water. Everywhere we went the staff was perfect for our couple, their family and friends, and us as vendors. We had scouted the venue beforehand, but we did not realize just how much room we’d have to work with - especially getting ready, taking spectacular shots on the staircase and in the lobby, during the ceremony even with so many guests, and for the reception with a huge dance floor. The food during cocktail hour was absolutely amazing with seemingly limitless options for everyone. The venue staff made sure we had a nice meal as well while checking in on the little things we love such as ensuring we’re set for the entrances and knew the itinerary for the reception. And again, this was our impression during the most difficult time of the year! I cannot imagine how extraordinary the property is during warm seasons, but we hope to find out soon. While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review, and we appreciated the sensational first visit with hopefully many more to come. “Major company event. Cocktail hour with drinks, selection of crudite, cheeses, fruit and roaming appetizers. For the roaming apps, I tried the mini lobster rolls, mozzarella brucheta and mini rice balls. All were very good. For dinner there was a lovely salad with poached pear and panchetta. There was a choice of steak, chicken, salmon and a vegetarian option for the main dish. For dessert there was a chocolate fondue setup close to the bar and a selection of mini desserts at the tables. The event space looked amazing (the company did some of the table decor and the event space staff did the plates, cutlery etc). The staff was friendly and helpful. There was enough parking (Valet - I did get there on the earlier side, so not sure about people who got there on the later side). Would like to come back for another occassion to verify this initial opinion.“

“Whitby Castle is the absolute best & most perfect place for a wedding & we very highly recommend it as your wedding venue! My partner and I got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby Castle in Rye, NY, and it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue and all of the amazing managers and staff at Whitby. My partner and I looked at about 10 wedding venues in the Tri-state area before finding Whitby Castle, and the minute we saw it, we knew we had to get married there. It blew all of the other venues out of the water, in so many distinctive facets. The first thing that brought us to Whitby was the gorgeous castle and grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns right on Rye Golf club and striking views of the Long Island Sound), and how the venue provided a plethora of accommodations for whatever season or weather you may have on your wedding day. The next thing that brought us in was the wedding package they offered for dates outside of the wedding season (ours was the end of March). The wedding package included everything we needed, outside of a few upgrades we added on later, and was the best price for all of the options we got. We could not find a better price anywhere for the number of options, vendors or amenities that their wedding package contained. Before ultimately deciding on Whitby Castle as our wedding venue, we attended their quarterly wedding showcase that provided samplings of all of the cocktail hour foods the venue provides, as well as the ability to meet a ton of potential vendors for all of the other factors of the wedding weekend. The showcase event was excellent and not something we saw any other venue provide. It gave us a one-stop shop to help find our vendors, and even better that it was vendors that work at Whitby on a regular basis. Additionally, the cocktail hour food was delicious, and we knew the entrées and other course options were going to be even better. After we saw all of this, we knew for certain that Whitby was our venue, and it only got better from here. We booked Whitby Castle as our venue over a year before the wedding date and from our first meeting with Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we had without a doubt made the right choice. Niki handled just about everything with the venue throughout the process including catering, vendors, amenities and all of the options available to us through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us and offered a wide variety of options for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, as well as anything else we were thinking of. Niki thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding, what we did or did not need, or what we may have missed or forgot, and she helped us get to where we needed to be in the planning process. Since our first meeting with Niki, she made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us and our wedding (because she did), as well as the different ideas we had. We worked with Niki for over a year and half, and she made everything so easy for us during that time. Niki managed all of these points with us until it was time to meet with the operations manager and maître d', which happens around a month before the wedding day. We would later meet with the Operations Manager, Ralph, about three weeks before the wedding day and he was just as awesome. Ralph had all of the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding and provided a comprehensive timeline and wedding plan to us. Niki and Ralph were not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but also exceedingly responsive and accommodating to what we needed and wanted for our wedding. Niki and Ralph were both always accessible throughout the entire process when helping us manage, coordinate and deliver our ideal wedding. They also made the process of meeting and maintaining communication with them easy and convenient. “I was trying to throw a Sweet 16 on a tight budget, but the more I looked into renting a place, buying food, alcohol, decorations… the more expensive things seemed to get. At Eastwood Manor, they had it all for a little under $100/person after taxes and service fees. But it was worth it because The Crystal Room which I rented was very private. The newly installed flooring made it look so nice. My family is still talking about how great the food tasted and they loved that the place encouraged them to take leftovers by placing bags and plastic containers out near the food. The managers are great. The only thing I can complain about is that when it was time to toast my daughter most of the guests did not have any champagne, which was part of the package. A huge factor was the staff at the Westchester Manor and how incredible they were. From the beginning of the planning process until the big day, John Gresia and his team made the process of wedding planning a breeze. Aside from being a beautiful, local venue, the food and attention to detail were excellent. “WHAT A FIND & HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chef Abyssinia! I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. We went with the 4-course option that included Scallops Au Gratin, Winter Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon & Chocolate Mousse. We tasted the freshness and love with every bite.
