“My friends decided to make a formal meeting at one hotspot rumored to be one of the best Japanese restaurants in New Rochelle. Sakana sounds so good to my ears, so we as an entrepreneurial company went to collaborate and dine. The restaurant is fabulous and well-designed, with deep, sensual blues and purples setting the mood for a chill relaxation. Waiting for the food was easy with the friendly waitress, and I enjoy the customs I use to respond to her polite service. The food was spectacular in both view and flavor. The Bento Box felt like a sweet assortment of sushi and seasoned meat, like choosing delicacy from a box of chocolates. The well-done Beef Negimaki was bite-friendly, and enjoyed the sauce that complemented the sautéed onions. I have to thank my friend for covering the modest costs of this meeting. I am satisfied with the price, given that there are five of us ordering to our hearts’ content. Each of us would have contributed 35 for our respective dishes. I have paid more than that price in other restaurants with three guests including myself. I love Sakana, and I would go back to have a customary relaxation with my friends and family.Vegetarian options: The main theme of Sakana is its sushi and sashimi selections, almost all of which are seafood based. Top non-meat sushi rolls include the Eel Avocado Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. In addition, there are desserts such as Mochi Ice Cream. Vegans can try Sushi Appetizers such as the Crispy Famous Pancake and the Tuna Dumpling. Soups are available for a vegan diet, such as Miso Soup and Seafood Soup.Kid-friendliness: Due to the kid-friendly nature, large space and homestyle vibe of Sakana, children with their families will be able to dine at this restaurant. No suggestive symbols or pictures are found. There is large room for accompanied children to freely relax and enjoy the delicious Japanese cuisine.“

Definitely a place I must go back to over and over. The food I had was hot, ready to eat, staff were helpful and so chill. The options of food and even their menu just blew me away. Sushi, Rolls, Hibachi plates… so much options. In my visit I had the Steak Hibachi, and Dumplings Ice Tea. So delicious, great serving size I had to bring some of the food home. “Had omakase for my birthday with my wife recently and I was can 1000% say it was the best meal I have ever eaten in my 44 years. I spent 25 years in high end seafood, (wholesale, retail, private chef, and catering) and was blown away by the quality of the fish! The chef was masterful as he balanced every single course (in had the 16) to perfection. He was incredibly skilled and a wonderful artist. The selection of fish from Japan was amazing. He explained every course as he served us. This place is a gem. I have eaten at just about every single sushi restaurant around and on see no reason to go anywhere else anymore. The place is clean and beautiful, the owner and staff were friendly and very interactive. The preparation and care that went into everyone was second to none. They talk to us like we are friends and always have a good time here. When we order rolls or sushi, the fish is always so fresh. Every single single time. Does not disappoint. “I love this place. I’ve gotten take out here every few weeks for many, many years, and every time it’s wonderful. The people working there, especially the woman who has run the counter and I think has managed the place for all the years it’s been open, are fabulous. Times when I get sushi it’s always good, fresh, nice, basically as it should be. Lots of rolls, all of them tight and clean (I like the California roll because I’m basic and I seriously love imitation crab, no joke). But mostly I like “kitchen food,” like the gyoza, the rock shrimp tempura (just those two with white rice is enough for me). The black bean salmon is really good too. I’m so glad they’re still here in DF.“

However this restaurant astounded me, it was different!!!The food was fabulous!!! We both had the 'Hot and Sour' soup, and it was impressive! The temp, was just right, not luke-warm as I have come to expect in many restaurants, and, not scaldingly hot, but just right! The spices were hot as they should be, but not too hot. As I said, I was amazed!!!Then for the mains, we had, Spicy Chicken and Curry Chicken. Again the spices were quite hot, but not too, at least for me. They were just wonderful, tasty, yet with a subtle delight. It is hard to express. And we both commented how the presentation of the food on the plates was 'picture perfect.'I would suggest you go and write your own experience! I live 30 miles on the other side of the NYC metro area where traveling can be a challenge all on its own, but for this restaurant in the Bronx, NYC, NY, Kai Fan, I will be returning!!!ps I only wish they were closer to me here on Long Island!!pss I was served by one of the owners, and an owner was on duty at the cash register! “Ended up here for dinner because my daughter really wanted ramen. We had the Kara-age chicken (my choice) and edamame (her choice) to start with, both were decent. We both tried a different ramen, I had a spicy one from the specials menu which I enjoyed, it was really good. They have a kids menu with affordable choices but of course my kid didn’t want anything from there and she only ate half her ramen and didn’t care for the pork belly or really most of the toppings. We finished off our meal with the mango pudding which I thought was amazing. I thought it was definitely kid friendly, lots of families with kids dining the day I went. Service was ok, a bit on the slower side but I guess they were a bit busy. Overall I thought it was pretty pricey and not 100% worth it which means next time I would look for a different ramen spot in the area to explore.“
