“Fogama provides seriously delicious Japanese dishes, that are expertly created from a vast and varied menu. Every dish was enjoyable and appreciated. Service was great when we first arrived, but then lacked on a very busy Friday evening. We will definitely return.“

“I was able to get a reservation for two, same day for 6pm at the bar area. We didn’t wait at all as there was bar seating. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and did not disappoint when asked for a recommendation. After many nigiri selections and a few hand rolls I would recommend the hamachi & scallion, bluefin tuna, and the spicy ora king salmon hand rolls. I had a favorite hand roll place before (KazuNori) but OKO amazed me and is now my favorite place for hand rolls. Presentation is taken seriously, as well as the craft that goes into the cuts of fish and I can tell the fish is very fresh. As for the sushi, I very much enjoyed every piece I ordered but my favorites were definitely the salmon belly and the smoked black cod. I definitely see myself returning and recommending OKO. Atmosphere and service were also very positive during my visit. This place is definitely a positive experience for me.
Things to keep in mind: their sushi/nigiri are smaller than your average sushi place but still a welcoming size. They take walk-ins but reservations seem to be highly recommended. OKO has high quality fish/ingredients so you will be paying a pretty penny.“

“I generally like the food here, I have tried their general tso's chicken, pad thai, scallion pancakes, pork fried dumplings and various sushi dishes which were all quite good. Not a top restaurant but definitely a decent pick and not insanely expensive considering the area it is in. There usually arent that many people eating there if you like a relatively quiet dining experience but I also rated it a 3 for atmosphere as it isn't very lively. Good service, 4 stars for me overall.“

“I chose the sushi deluxe, and I guess it’s similar to an omakase style. They told me it would be 9 pieces with one roll, and honestly, all the selections were great. The fish was very fresh and high quality. I was also really impressed by their service.

My friend and I were deep in conversation and lost track of time, but they never rushed us to leave. I will definitely be coming back and will make a reservation next time (we were lucky to get seats with no wait just by walking in)!“

“I have been going here with my family as long as I was able to eat sushi. This place is one of my favorite restaurants. It feels like a slice of Japan dropped into downtown Stamford. The food is always incredible and the service always makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is so cozy too. I love this restaurant. “I almost forgot about this spot but remembered it from when I trained at the martial arts gym down the street. I saw the other reviews raved about the food and the impressive menu for such a little spot so I decided to stop in for lunch. Very delicious indeed and the fish was rather fresh and clean tasting. They offer a decently priced menu full of Japanese favorites including cooked dishes if you are not a sushi fan. I opted for a traditional tuna maki roll and a spicy tuna roll as apart of the lunch special. Both were so tasty I ended up ordering another roll to go and the crispy rice. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and traditional decor, very bright and clean looking. Sometimes these restaurants these days can get a little too funky with the decor so they made a proper choice maintaining simplicity. I see they deliver so I will definitely be ordering again when I am not in the area.“

“My husband and I did the table side omakase and overall, all the sushi was absolutely delicious! The only critique we have is for the dessert, which was green tea ice cream. We feel like for the price per person, the dessert should be a bit more elevated than ice cream that was most likely store bought. “I don’t know about the rest of you all, but this is by far, the best Japanese Cuisine place in the Area. Some of the best items from their menu The Angry Dragon Sushi, The Shrimp tempura, and the Spicy Salmon rolls.

Also try the gyoza and the amazing Kani salad (regular or spicy)

Also the presentation is outstanding, and don’t forget to try their amazing Thai ice Tea which is homemade. 100% recommended. 🫶🏻

Instead, she recommended a dinner special with the same items for an additional $10. Other than that, the food was amazing 10/10 and so was the service and atmosphere. “Came here to eat in New Year’s Day. Miso soup was so good. We ordered many hand yolks between two people. There was one tool I didn’t like too much I can’t remember the name now but all the rest were fresh and delicious.
They even gave us a cute ice cream dessert“

“Run of the mill asian fusion resteraunt. They have amazing options and great staff. They are always quick with the food. By the time I get there its always hot and ready. You get what youd expect.
Its a little pricey compared to the other take out places in the area, however it is by far better in quality. The interior is always nicely decorated with wall murals with cartoon characters.“

“A reliable sushi spot that we keep coming back to when we’re in the area. We went around 5:30pm and were seated right away. It wasn’t too crowded initially, but picked up as the evening went on.

Parking on Mamaroneck Ave can be a bit tricky, but if you circle around, you’ll usually find something.

We like sitting near the front with a view of the street. Service is consistently good, and it’s nice seeing familiar staff over multiple visits.

We usually order a variety of rolls and share, which makes for a great mix. Everything is fresh, well presented, and tastes great. A Sapporo pairs perfectly with the meal.
