Fresh tuna, yuzu ponzu, togarashi aioli, nori, and quinoa crunch. My favorite dish of the meal.

“Fogama provides seriously delicious Japanese dishes, that are expertly created from a vast and varied menu. Every dish was enjoyable and appreciated. Service was great when we first arrived, but then lacked on a very busy Friday evening. We will definitely return.“

“I generally like the food here, I have tried their general tso's chicken, pad thai, scallion pancakes, pork fried dumplings and various sushi dishes which were all quite good. Not a top restaurant but definitely a decent pick and not insanely expensive considering the area it is in. There usually arent that many people eating there if you like a relatively quiet dining experience but I also rated it a 3 for atmosphere as it isn't very lively. Good service, 4 stars for me overall.“

“I chose the sushi deluxe, and I guess it’s similar to an omakase style. They told me it would be 9 pieces with one roll, and honestly, all the selections were great. The fish was very fresh and high quality. I was also really impressed by their service.

My friend and I were deep in conversation and lost track of time, but they never rushed us to leave. I will definitely be coming back and will make a reservation next time (we were lucky to get seats with no wait just by walking in)!“

“I almost forgot about this spot but remembered it from when I trained at the martial arts gym down the street. I saw the other reviews raved about the food and the impressive menu for such a little spot so I decided to stop in for lunch. Very delicious indeed and the fish was rather fresh and clean tasting. They offer a decently priced menu full of Japanese favorites including cooked dishes if you are not a sushi fan. I opted for a traditional tuna maki roll and a spicy tuna roll as apart of the lunch special. Both were so tasty I ended up ordering another roll to go and the crispy rice. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and traditional decor, very bright and clean looking. Sometimes these restaurants these days can get a little too funky with the decor so they made a proper choice maintaining simplicity. I see they deliver so I will definitely be ordering again when I am not in the area.“

“Open Rice Poke Bowl is one of my favorite spots in Stamford! The food is always fresh, delicious, and consistently good. I love that the menu offers a variety of options, so there’s truly something for everyone.

Favorites from there are the Thai Curry Noodle Soup, Hibachi, Mongolian beef, pineapple pork fried rice, szechuan dumplings, sushi is very fresh as well! Highly recommend!“

“I don’t know about the rest of you all, but this is by far, the best Japanese Cuisine place in the Area. Some of the best items from their menu The Angry Dragon Sushi, The Shrimp tempura, and the Spicy Salmon rolls.

Also try the gyoza and the amazing Kani salad (regular or spicy)

Also the presentation is outstanding, and don’t forget to try their amazing Thai ice Tea which is homemade. 100% recommended. 🫶🏻

“If you’re looking for an honest experience at Abis Restaurant, I suggest getting the experience firsthand. I’ve been there myself, and my experience was completely real — in the best way.

From the moment you walk in, everyone is welcoming, attentive, and kind. You can tell they care about the guests, not just about “doing their job.” Service felt warm, not forced — the kind where you feel comfortable asking questions and taking your time.

The food is where Abis really shines. Every dish we had was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality and the care in the preparation. The menu offers comfort and creativity at the same time, which isn’t easy to pull off. Nothing felt rushed or careless — it felt like food made by people who take pride in what they serve.

The hibachi experience is a highlight all on its own. The chef didn't just cook- he put on a full show. It was fun, interactive, and entertaining without taking away from the quality of the food. Watching the precision, energy, and skill on the grill while the flames go up adds such a great atmosphere to the meal. And the food coming off the grill? “Hadn't been there since 2016 possibly when I moved away from the area in 2017 still got the same day service the same hostess was there and everything was wonderful I told them where I was and we reminisced and had a great time and hey the food is still the same as it was back then no changes next time in the area hope you have more money so I can buy more food to bring up to where I live I'm in the mountains where the options are limited and few. “Run of the mill asian fusion resteraunt. They have amazing options and great staff. They are always quick with the food. By the time I get there its always hot and ready. You get what youd expect.
Its a little pricey compared to the other take out places in the area, however it is by far better in quality. The interior is always nicely decorated with wall murals with cartoon characters.“

Parking on Mamaroneck Ave can be a bit tricky, but if you circle around, you’ll usually find something.

We like sitting near the front with a view of the street. Service is consistently good, and it’s nice seeing familiar staff over multiple visits.

We usually order a variety of rolls and share, which makes for a great mix. Everything is fresh, well presented, and tastes great. A Sapporo pairs perfectly with the meal.
