“Fogama provides seriously delicious Japanese dishes, that are expertly created from a vast and varied menu. Every dish was enjoyable and appreciated. Service was great when we first arrived, but then lacked on a very busy Friday evening. We will definitely return.“

“I was able to get a reservation for two, same day for 6pm at the bar area. We didn’t wait at all as there was bar seating. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and did not disappoint when asked for a recommendation. After many nigiri selections and a few hand rolls I would recommend the hamachi & scallion, bluefin tuna, and the spicy ora king salmon hand rolls. I had a favorite hand roll place before (KazuNori) but OKO amazed me and is now my favorite place for hand rolls. Presentation is taken seriously, as well as the craft that goes into the cuts of fish and I can tell the fish is very fresh. As for the sushi, I very much enjoyed every piece I ordered but my favorites were definitely the salmon belly and the smoked black cod. I definitely see myself returning and recommending OKO. Atmosphere and service were also very positive during my visit. This place is definitely a positive experience for me.
Things to keep in mind: their sushi/nigiri are smaller than your average sushi place but still a welcoming size. They take walk-ins but reservations seem to be highly recommended. OKO has high quality fish/ingredients so you will be paying a pretty penny.“

“My husband and I did the table side omakase and overall, all the sushi was absolutely delicious! The only critique we have is for the dessert, which was green tea ice cream. We feel like for the price per person, the dessert should be a bit more elevated than ice cream that was most likely store bought. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who asked, but just give a heads up that the dessert may feel lacking.“

“10/10 food and service. We came with a group of 7 not knowing how small the seating area was (especially for a large group). They kindly accommodated us by putting the tables together after the existing people finished. Then, the sashimi options were unique. The Hamachi with yuzu sauce was sooo good and like nothing I’ve tried before. We liked all the rolls we got. We got pan friend ramen for the kids and it came with a lot of vegetables which was nice.“

“I tried uni (sea urchin) for the first time, served on A5 Wagyu at Nomi Sushi, a new omakase restaurant in Scarsdale, New York. At omakase you don't order. The chef serves you the best of the day, one small plate at a time. That meant yellowtail in yuzu sauce, lobster with caviar, buttery salmon belly and a pistachio cake to finish. I break down two craft cocktails too, with the price of each.

It's a small, dimly lit room where you can look right into the kitchen and watch the chefs work. If you want a real omakase experience in Westchester County, this is one to try. My full experience is on YouTube under “Franjez”.“

“I don’t know about the rest of you all, but this is by far, the best Japanese Cuisine place in the Area. Some of the best items from their menu The Angry Dragon Sushi, The Shrimp tempura, and the Spicy Salmon rolls.

Also try the gyoza and the amazing Kani salad (regular or spicy)

Also the presentation is outstanding, and don’t forget to try their amazing Thai ice Tea which is homemade. 100% recommended. 🫶🏻

“An unexpected seafood find in Mamaroneck! This place has it all—fresh seafood, prepared seafood, a sushi counter, and seafood cooked to order.

I usually prefer a Connecticut-style lobster roll, but since I was taking it to the pool, I went with the Maine-style cold lobster salad. It was delicious! BIG chunks of lobster, just the right amount of mayo, and a buttery roll toasted perfectly—crispy, golden, and sturdy enough to hold all that lobster.

I also tried the Lady Dragon Roll (I believe that was the name), made fresh while I waited. Shrimp tempura inside with spicy salmon on the outside—so good!

There are a few tables inside and outdoor patio seating, making it a great spot for a casual seafood lunch. I also noticed they run specials, so check their social media. The day I visited, a lobster roll with fries and coleslaw was around $29.95.“

“Our first time at one of these places and it was great! Variety of food options and ordering was pretty easy. We need to figure out how to use the phone since the tablet screen was a bit messy / gross.

“I almost forgot about this spot but remembered it from when I trained at the martial arts gym down the street. I saw the other reviews raved about the food and the impressive menu for such a little spot so I decided to stop in for lunch. Very delicious indeed and the fish was rather fresh and clean tasting. They offer a decently priced menu full of Japanese favorites including cooked dishes if you are not a sushi fan. I opted for a traditional tuna maki roll and a spicy tuna roll as apart of the lunch special. Both were so tasty I ended up ordering another roll to go and the crispy rice. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and traditional decor, very bright and clean looking. Sometimes these restaurants these days can get a little too funky with the decor so they made a proper choice maintaining simplicity. I see they deliver so I will definitely be ordering again when I am not in the area.“

“Every holiday I place my fish order here. Always fresh, always easy pick-up. This year I somehow ordered the pre-cooked octopus instead of cooking it myself. “Came here to eat in New Year’s Day. Miso soup was so good. We ordered many hand yolks between two people. There was one tool I didn’t like too much I can’t remember the name now but all the rest were fresh and delicious.

“A reliable sushi spot that we keep coming back to when we’re in the area. We went around 5:30pm and were seated right away. It wasn’t too crowded initially, but picked up as the evening went on.

Parking on Mamaroneck Ave can be a bit tricky, but if you circle around, you’ll usually find something.

We like sitting near the front with a view of the street. Service is consistently good, and it’s nice seeing familiar staff over multiple visits.

We usually order a variety of rolls and share, which makes for a great mix. Everything is fresh, well presented, and tastes great. A Sapporo pairs perfectly with the meal.

Definitely a spot we’d recommend and continue to revisit.“

Instead, she recommended a dinner special with the same items for an additional $10. Other than that, the food was amazing 10/10 and so was the service and atmosphere. “Two people in our party, Friday evening, no reservation, but we were seated promptly, choosing to sit at the bar. The service and the food was very good. We commented to the owner/manager about one dish we didn't love, a jalapeno yellowtail ponzu (sauce was over powering) and we were given six sashimi slices of yellowtail on the house to assure our satisfaction. A nice gesture that was not expected or necessary but shows the attention to customer service. Lots of choices for cold sake, fresh fish, great customer service. A win!“
