Manage expectations as this is a one-stop FAST stop with the best bakery prices in Chinatown, a solid "street" food section, and leftover/excess cake pieces for $1.50/bag. I stop here on my way home and usually pick up a box with rice and an entree for $5 or just an entree for $4. Singapore mei fun, lo mein, or ho fun are only $2.50 a pint. Otherwise known as 242 Cafe bakery on Google maps this place is very multifunctional! In addition to the expected Chinese bakeries goodies, there was also a hot foods section and multiple helpers behind the counter that made the experience quick and easy. I had went in looking for the classic pinapple bun and found them individually packaged for $1 each. Not sure why this place has so few reviews and low ratings. It’s a great little spot for satisfying your sweet tooth. Sponge cake, mochi balls, custard, etc and most go for $2-$3 each. Not much of a seating area but take your pastry to go and walk to the Brooklyn bridge!
