Akimori on the upper east side is a delightful culinary experience. The fish was extraordinary and the presentation was amazing. The vegetarian option could use a little more creativity. We had the restaurant ourselves, and it was like having a private chef. Kudos to Paul who made us feel so welcome.

Akimori offers a unique Japanese omakase experience. The sushi is of the highest quality, with exceptional flavor and texture. The ingredients are completely fresh and freshly cut. The service is excellent and the chef is kind and very smooth with his techniques. Akimori has a bar and several seats, as well as a patio in the back which is spacious and well designed. They serve dishes like the Sam Roll, toro spicy tuna crispy rice, and cucumber salad. The fish is very fresh and the sake options are good. Akimori is a great place for kosher and non-kosher people, and the omakase is a great price. Seating is limited, so a reservation is recommended.
