“I was in the Penn Station area today and had a craving for fried chicken. Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.

I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.

Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.

Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

“Giving Popeye's another chance after all these years , I can honestly say tha staff was ok , tha only had part I hate is wen u have alot of food they give u less sauce, but anyways I ordered tha Family Festive Box and it comes with 4 Chicken Tenders , 4 Chicken Wings , 4 Biscuits & 4 Sides and I got two Mac N' Cheese, Mash Potatoes & Fries.

Now tha Fries were well seasoned after I made it crispy in my air fryer it was 7/10 , tha Mash Potatoes was good 7/10 , tha Mac N' Cheese was 7.5/10 and tha Biscuits are always tha best 8/10 , tha chicken I got them spicy it was good 8/10 and tha Tenders were 7.5/10.

I had previously complained to them (privately, through their customer surveys) that this branch didn't feel like a Chick-fil-A as we all know and love. Whatever they did, it worked.
