“Food is always great but its been about 7 times that I have went and the fried chicken has run out, and it takes 15-20 minutes for it to cook. I feel like they need to better manage the timing. Once they see that the chicken on display is half gone, they should already start frying a new batch instead of waiting for the last min where there's less than 10 pieces for them to now start frying the new batch. Also they have a limit on breast they fried in each batch. So if the few pieces are gone, you will now have to wait for the new batch to fry and that can take over 45 mins, especially if they are not ready to fry a batch. Other than that, the food is great and the staff are also very friendly.“

“Solid fried chicken sandwich in a classic dive bar. I haven’t actually been in many dive bars, but when you walk into this place, it’s almost pitch black and you can’t see anything. The atmosphere is a little bit grungy, and you have to read some signs to figure out that you need to order out the counter. When we went on a Saturday for lunch, there was no one behind the counter and it turns out the worker was someone who I actually thought was dining at the restaurants since they were eating their hashbrowns next to everyone else. The chicken sandwich is enormous and takes up much more than the surface area of a single bun, but I liked it a lot, especially when you add the different sauces and mayo they provide. Would come back and try some other stuff too. Very cute back patio.“

“I am an avid Lula Bird customer. There are times where I order once a week because it’s is delicious and filling.

This is a pick-up/delivery only establishment. Do not expect a seat, but trust, it’s worth it!!! My tip is to order from their site directly, so much easier. I never have had to wait more than 30 mins for my order and that’s being generous. I see some people have had a bad delivery but I can’t say the same.

I’ve been ordering from here over 6 years and I love it. It’s one of my favorite places to order from because of their daily menu changes. I normally order chicken, half a chicken so I can get ~3 meals out of it! Love some good leftovers. The side options are all delish!! You really can’t go wrong with their usual sides / daily side options. My favorite sauce is the Green Sauce although I’ll mix it up with the Tzaziki Sauce.

“Chicken and rice is beautiful, best I’ve tried in Brooklyn. They improved a lot since I was in town a year ago. The marinated chicken is very tasty, I think they use tomato, and the chicken is very well cooked, not greasy or anything. It is a little spicy tho, but the rest of the food balances it out. “The most authentic Dominican 🇩🇴 food that I have ever had in all of Brooklyn. I wish I can give them 7 stars! The first reason being is the flavor/seasoning. It is rich in flavor without being salty or over seasoned. My second reason, there is such a huge variety of options to choose from. They have all the typical protein that you’re craving for on any particular day. My third reason, is the price is absolutely unbeatable. I mean, they offer incredible prices despite the current state of our economy. They have a couple of options for dessert as well whether that’s pastry or ice cream. Good amount of seats to dine in. My favorite dish from here is the garlic chicken with rice and beans, as well as the fresh juices. One can make a dish off of the snack foods and smaller dishes by themselves; the standard rice platter that came with the aforementioned chicken lasted me for a few days, there was so much. They also have a wide variety of breakfast dishes and don't mind customizing them as needed.“

“After getting tired of Popeyes making the wrong orders / missing ingredients, I decided to try Texas chicken even though i was a bit hesitant due to some of the negative reviews about their chicken sandwiches.
I went in and ordered two chicken sandwiches, one classic and one deluxe, prices are on the higher end of the spectrum on the classic chicken but the deluxe seemed to be within its fair value since the chicken was approximately 50 percent larger than the one on the classic sandwich. Dont know if that was a coincidence or they really use two different sizes of breaded chicken on the two.

With that being said, i was surprised at the taste, i think that it was far more superior than popeyes chicken sandwich mainly due to the usage of less batter/breading than their competitor.. the staff were nearly silent throughout the transaction but that doesn’t matter as long as the food was prepared properly and delicious enough for me to be a returning customer. The establishment could also improve its atmosphere by not allowing loitering for a better customer experience however, i do recommend this over Popeyes based on my first experience with them. Spent about $16 for both chicken sandwiches in case you want a glimpse of their price range.“
