I'd give this place a 3.5, so rounding up. The food is fine, but a bit forgettable--I had the buckwheat pancakes and they had a generous portion. I preferred the sour dough and toast option personally. Not a bad spot if you like bloodys and very cozy ambiance. But would I come back? Probably not.

Such a lovely, beautiful, well-appointed restaurant in the East Village. While visiting my in-laws in New York, they took us to their favorite restaurant in the city, Hearth. We had previously visited Hearth on the High Line in 2022 during the summer, but had never been to the brick and mortar original location. What a cute, cozy place. I also love their focus on using quality ingredients. They use olive oil and grass fed butter, the fish is wild, the meat is grass fed. It's hard to find a restaurant that has all of this in mind when preparing food and maintain such a commitment to using quality ingredients rather than inexpensive ones.
