It's taken me 30+ years of going through Penn Station, but I finally tried Le Bon Cafe and you know what? It's not half bad. Though there are bigger names in the area now, sometimes you need that deli-style meal and Le Bon is all over it. Big selection of cold beers? Yes. Egg sammies? Yes. Pre-made sammies that they heat up for you? Yep. Chopped salads? They have it. I work nearby so I frequently eat here. The employees here work hard, fast and are generally friendly. I get my coffee on the right side and the usual woman is a sweetheart.My only gripe is the left side where you order breakfast food, the guy sometimes forgets stuff and works very sloppy. There are always remnants of what he prepared previously in your breakfast because he does not wipe the utensils clean. I got the Santa Fe salad, and it was great. The lettuce and other ingredients were fresh, and the portions were generous. The employees are friendly and work *so hard* to get people through the line quickly. For a quick, healthy bit in Penn Station this is the way to go.
