Came here on Thursday because, my friend said, they were having an anniversary party with passed o'dhourves. I made my way after work - it's very small with a full bar and limited seating inside but with seating outside. Older crowd but Dj was good. Thankfully a table was free and someone got me a chair.

Brought here by some good friends for a girl's night. The appetizer which was a fried seafood dish was delicious! However the marinade chicken wasn't very flavorful, jollof rice was dry and the plantains weren't fully cooked. The strawberry cheesecake was uneventful. I'd only go again for the fried seafood.
It's a low-key spot with really unique, flavorful food. The menu has some great African-inspired dishes, among other things. It’s not soul food, but definitely draws on those African roots. I had a carrot ginger soup that was honestly incredible—I can’t even describe how good it was. Everything there was solid, plus the music was a nice touch. I’d definitely go back for the quality and those one-of-a-kind recipes.

Renaissance restaurant in Harlem offers a cozy, small space with great ambiance and a lively vibe, especially during brunch with a DJ playing throwback hits. The staff is friendly and attentive, with service that makes guests feel right at home. The food is delicious and authentic, with standout dishes like the Branzino fish with potatoes, zucchini, and carrots, which is tasty and satisfying. The Red Snapper with Jollof rice and spinach is also highly recommended, as is the Rasta pasta, rated a 1000/10 for its perfect spice and flavor. However, some dishes have issues: the branzino can be dry with many bones, and the lobster ravioli is described as gross, tasting frozen with no lobster, only a mushy orange substance. The fish and sides could be improved, and a side of bacon ordered not crispy came as cold crispy bits for $10.00. The short ribs are a favorite, and the Grilled Octopus, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Cheesecake are good options. A major concern is an automatic 25% gratuity charged to the bill, though it was lowered after complaining. Guests are advised to look over charges before paying.
