SHINN EAST Reviews
Earns its right as a top notch go to omakase. For $69, you’re getting high value and incredibly quality fish. Would come here again in a heartbeat.
Amazing experience!!! The price $69 for 13 courses per person, which is a bit more affordable compared to the usual omakase prices and it is so worth it. Every course was prepared quickly and with care. Each piece I had was so flavorful and delicate. I also did not expect to be full afterwards but I was!! Special points for the unagi, just from how it looked, it brought me back to Japan, and the taste proved just that. If you’ve never had omakase before, please give this...read full review
This is such a 10/10 experience.
The food is incredible. The fish is fresh and tasty. The service and ambience are great too!
At $69 per person this is also great for someone being introduced to omakase.

SHINN EAST offers a great deal for quality omakase sushi at an affordable price. The 12-piece omakase includes unique dishes like salmon-foie gras-truffle nigiri and individual uni course. The symphony of flavors in each sushi dish is impeccable, with favorites like otoro with caviar and salmon + foie gras standing out. The addition of wagyu and snapper enhances the dining experience. Friendly and knowledgeable sushi chefs, including Oliver, add to the overall enjoyment. The restaurant is a small, cozy spot in the East Village, making the experience more personal. Service is praised as fantastic, with staff going above and beyond. Customers often find the sushi to be fresh and delicious, especially the salmon. The place is tiny, which can make it crowded even for 10 to 12 people, but this adds to its charm. Visitors should book in advance due to its small size and popularity. Some guests mentioned that the sushi tasting was good but not necessarily above average compared to other omakase experiences, with favorites like Hamachi, O-toro, and Hotate. Overall, SHINN EAST is a top choice for well-priced, tasty omakase dining with attentive service and a memorable experience.
