Not my first experience of Smith & Wollensky - I've been to the Chicago restaurant a couple of times- but my first visit in New York. It's simply superb. Seafood bouquet to begin (mostly lobster) and then fillet mignon cooked to perfection. I feel that I can die now, happy in the knowledge that I have lived.(Although it would be nice to stick around for a few years and visit them again.)
Best shrimp cocktail with very good sauces. Great quality meet, with wonderful sides. Very good cheesecake. Good options of wine and beer. Definitely look for Mr Linn, for the best experience ever.

We prefer the grill side of the restaurant. Not as noisy, or crowded, but the same menu and food quality. You can't go wrong with any of the steak options, sirloin, rib steak, porterhouse .. all delicious. The pork chop is a very generous portion and also very tasty. The clam chowder is okay, but not great though. Service was great and attentive.
