I really miss the OG spot in Corona but this more upscale stall in Essex Market does keep the flavors intact and is a must try if you want great authentic Mexican flavors. We came here specifically to try their birria ramen (which really is more like birria pho). The broth is good but the meat is a tad lean and the noodles are not the best vehicle for these flavors (tacos are) but its really an interesting fusion of 2 diverse cuisines. My review is based on the birria that was amazing and tasted like home, it was mouthwatering. My main reason to visit this place was to try their fresh tortillas that they sell by the pound and unfortunately they were out, so I will have to come back again and give you and update.
Very good service, being in New York you don't find that taste of Mexico, and they have it... the people who serve you, from the chef to the helpers. Very kind and nice people... I recommend the delicious enchiladas ?.
