“I stopped in to Emilia’s Bakehouse Café on Walt Whitman Rd in Melville yesterday (they have another location in E. Northport) and boy, was I glad I did! I entered into a well-lit shop filled with pastries, scones, cookies, brownies, croissants, breads and quiches, etc. and was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by 2 attractive young ladies. It was a great vibe just being there, very stress relieving. The chocolate brownie is perfection in texture and taste! The scones and peanut butter coconut power bites are delicious! Their organic Colombian coffee is the bomb, and you can get it with your favorite milk - for me it’s Oat Planet oat milk. Stop in, it’ll make your day! A feast for the eyes and tastebuds :)“

“We’ve tried Italian cheesecake from many different bakeries and always ended up disappointed and they went in the trash. But then we discovered Mario’s Pasticceria in Babylon! Their Italian cheesecake is absolutely the best we’ve ever had! It was rich, creamy, and had the authentic flavor we’d been searching for. It tasted amazing!! I go especially for their fresh goods - baklava, spanakopita, tiropita, galaktoboureko, kourabiedes, koulourakia, melomakarona, etc. Everything is so fresh and so delicious. They have a small hot case with the spanakopita and tiropita, so you can get a piece ready to eat. The people there are so nice as well. Good variety of cheeses and frozen goods too. One star removed for convenience of store hours. They are only open during the day, Monday to Friday. I wish they would consider opening on Saturday, if even for a few hours, or staying open past 4pm a few times a week.“

“It's a shame to write this but we couldnt get through to anyone who spoke English. They bake delicious goods but the girl behind the counter sold me white bread instead of rye. You would think she would know the difference. This is the 2nd screw up. The last time she overcharged us and didnt even blink. Be careful you don't get ripped off by the cashiers. Otherwise, it's a nice bakery. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously.

“This is a very well-priced, very high quality, and very upstanding bakery. We bulk ordered hundreds of lbs of cookies for business gifts.
They have small bakery taste, quality, and service at commercial quantities.

The shipment packaging was very rigid and nothing came broken which was amazing (they shipped to CO). Even more amazing were the cookies. It wasn't just "different shapes and colors with massive amounts of sugar" like most commercial bakeries.
Every cookie had its own unique flavor and texture!

The packaging trays are also cardboard, with minimal plastic covering. Eco-friendly is a huge bonus!

We looked a very long time for a good bakery that was ethical AND put out a good product. Cookies United promotes employees mostly from within and their 'about us' video immediately sold me on purchasing from here.

We put our employees first and believe in turning normal jobs into careers and so does this place. That's how business should be.

“I love this bakery but recently they decided to change the shape of their crumb bun. They used to bake them in a large tray and cut them ino rectangular pieces and they were up by the register. Now they are made round and in the glass case. The new crumb bun/cake does not taste as good, even though they say its the same recipe as the crumb bun itself.The rectangular shape. This round, one falls apart as you either cut into it or bite into it, and it doesn't have the same taste. Very disappointed that they change such a good thing.“

“This store has been our favorite family store for years, ever since my firstborn was a toddler (and now he’s over 10!). This place is like a mini amusement park for kids. There are buttons to press, characters to wave to, music, animatronics: it keeps them entertained while I try to get some shopping done.

We especially love their seasonal events. Around Halloween, they always have cute themed setups and candy stops for the kids, which makes every visit feel like a little adventure. And let’s not forget the ice cream: honestly, that’s our main reason for coming sometimes! The vanilla is a classic, and the rewards program lets you collect points for free coffee or a sweet treat, which is a total mom-win after a long day.

While I don’t do my main grocery haul here (they don’t carry everything), it’s an easy, enjoyable shopping trip, low-stress and family-friendly. Their sushi is surprisingly decent and made fresh on-site. They also have a hot food bar, some items are hit or miss for my taste, but the soups are consistently good.

We’ve also enjoyed the lobster rolls and the fun weekend BBQ setup outside in the summer - burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill, which adds to the experience.

The staff is always friendly, and the whole store just has a warm, welcoming vibe. If you’re a parent on Long Island, this is definitely a spot to check out (especially if your kids are cranky and you need coffee and entertainment in one place!).“

“they have an amazing worker in there. Picked up a party tray Friday the 21st she asked if it was for a party. I said no my grandma had just passed away and family was in from out of state/country so i offered to bring pretzels. I said we would have celebrated her 91st birthday today and she said you know everyone on their birthday gets a free pretzel. She said for this particular pretzel why not everyone take a little piece so it’s like she’s there celebrating with you.
