“We tried Taco Island Mexican Cantina in Mount Sinai for the first time tonight. We ordered the Fish Taco, Avacado Taco, Chicken Bacon Ranch Burrito, chips with homemade guac, and lastly the Pizza De Birria. The food was outstanding!! Honestly, it was some of the best Authentic Mexican food we have ever had. (Even our picky kids loved it) The employees were also super nice and brought us chips and sauces while we waited. After we ate they also brought us to go containers and a bag with a smile. 10 out of 10. Will return soon.“

“I ordered from this place thinking it would be a one-time thing, and I was definitely wrong. This spot has, by far, the best tacos, bowls, Nachos and burritos I’ve ever tasted. Everything was packed with care, and the service was fast and friendly when I went to pay.
They do not have a place to sit and eat since it's a food truck not sure if they do in the summer time

Tip: Paying cash is cheaper than using a credit card since the card fees are added to your order. They do take Mastercard visa and Amex“

“A five-star experience at The Green Gem in Smithtown. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and authentic, and you can see that every dish is made completely from scratch in front of you. The flavors stood out in every bite, especially the chicken and steak tacos, zucchini pupusa, and fajitas.

This is a wonderful family-owned spot with genuinely kind people The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept, they wiped the grill down each time they made a dish and use gloves. The portions were generous, and everything was so delicious that we left completely stuffed and I still have enough for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. It was my first time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint at all!
Im really bad with names but I think his name was Ricky, the manager/counter person. He was super welcoming, explained the menu, all our questions, hooked us up with some queso to try with the chips we ordered and threw in some dessert also!! Regardless of that, the guy is the type of person that'll make you wanna come back again.
With that aside, the food was amazing as well, big portions, super tasty, flavorful and their own sauce adds a nice flavor to it.
Highly recommend to any and everyone, Def must try. Come hungry cause their portions are pretty big, definitely worth the price!!“

I got the chimichangas and they had a nice crunchy outside and all the toppings were so good. Im surprised the place isnt busier on a Saturday, but no wait was nice. We ate outside in the enclosed garden patio thats beautiful with a dwarf tree and multi-urn step style water fountain. Dangling mirrored reflectors overhead on stringed lights keep birds away. Mexican music plays on the outdoor speaker system. Our table was visited by a mariachi suited mature guitarist that mesmerized my 22-month old grandson! “Had the pleasure of eating at the Greenport location. Two of my HS girlfriends and myself on moderately busy on Sunday (1012/24) at about 5:30. A young waiter named Brian was our server. We first ordered drinks, mine was the margarita with the pomegranate swirl. So delicious!! Refreshing and frosty! We shared the Mexican Street corn and the three dips with chips, which were freshly made. So fabulous! So tasty. The salsa, guacamole and queso were just perfect, each different but delicious!! The corn was sweet and flavorful. I had three tacos in hard shells. Fried chicken, fried shrimp and the marinated steak. Each one was different and very fresh. My one friend, is a vegetarian and the other is gluten intolerant BUT! They each found many yummy choices! I’ve been trying to get to this restaurant for several years, and finally the planets aligned! Brian was well trained, patient and informative with a good humor. The interior is bright, festive and clean. So much food, I could not finish all of it. And!! the restroom was clean! You should be very proud of this business! We will be back! Thank you!!“

“Simply the best taco spot in the area for true street-style tacos. I used to drive all the way to Queens to get tacos like these, and now I’ve found this gem just 2 minutes from home.

I ordered the birria tacos and they were absolutely amazing. The meat quality was excellent and the portions were very generous. The birria consommé was perfectly seasoned and came with a grilled jalapeño that added the perfect touch. The tacos also came with fries, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food.

I also tried the chorizo tostadas, and once again the portion size and flavor were incredible. The condiments were fresh and well balanced, and those came with fries too. There was so much food that it was easily enough for two people.

I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious street-style tacos, this is the spot.“

“This place is absolutely amazing. I came in just to grab a quick bite to eat but everything looks so delicious.

I don't know what they call it but I tried a cactus leaf and it was delicious. It has such a flavor that is similar to I guess an artichoke but also very different at the exact same time.

I had two chicken tacos and one chorizo. I love the fact that they have a bar where you can add as much salsa and toppings as you want.

So delicious.

The place is so clean and spotless it's not even funny. Guys behind the counter are awesome and I already be back.“

“Amazing first time experience!! Parking was accessible at 5pm. Don't skip on table side guacamole!! I was able to order a strawberry mocktail margarita. Music was amazing.
