“Best Italian deli in NY hands down. End of story, no discussion. Get the Tonys special, get a panini, get the home cooked plates (chicken parm is amazing) , get anything... it is all amazing. The staff are the friendliest guys around and just hanging out there and listening to the convo's feels like you have been warped in to a Scorsese movie. Make sure to also try the frozen cappucino.“

The lunch hours can get pretty crowded and busy but is worth the wait. “I was working locally and decided to grab lunch from Wheeler Deli after reading the reviews. The deli is smaller and quaint but has a large case of Boars Head meats, salads, and desserts. I ordered an American Hero, sides of macaroni salad, and potato salad, and a piece of the banana bread. They got right to making my order and the wait time was less than 5 minutes. My sandwich was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The salads were creamy and had great flavor. The banana bread was outstanding; dense and sweet and flavorful. The total for food and a drink was less than $25 which was a great value. I’ll be back.“

“I just got back from a trip to NYC and my brother-in-law treated us to dinner from The Halal Guys in Midtown and I knew it would be good since it was the only food cart with a block-long line after midnight. In fact I liked it so much I wanted to see if I could get something similar nearby... and I found it! I got the chicken and lamb over rice combo and while it wasn't quite the same it was still very good. The only difference is it didn't come with the pita bread and the white sauce tasted a bit different, but not bad. It also has more veggies so more "crunch" but next time I'm going to ask to leave them off (I just don't like the crunch...). I'm very happy to have a local option at a good price and generous portions. Thank you Sam's.“

“Catered this weekend - Italian Chicken Cutlet Supreme was awesome. Fresh and delicious. Stuffed cherry peppers were a hit. Salads were amazing but Mediterranean salad was my favorite. Pecan ring with whipped cream was gone in minutes. Thank you Mark (and Milton) for a delicious afternoon remembering my dad with family.“

I reminded her of Tinos, where we have in the past got 3 foot heroes and antipasto platters. We called and that was all she wrote! Delivery on time and the food was out of this world!! They were juggling a few customers at a time and were still attentive to everyone. Very kind people. Cash only. Clean place. Very quick service as well. The potato salad was phenomenal. I got the tuna upon recommendation but I would not buy it again. Prices were cheap for this area but expensive in general.“

My only issue is the people who come and order food have no manners and very easily overwhelm the small Deli. Perhaps a better system or a line & waiting area to keep the neighborhood locals in check would help.

Currently, if you call and order ahead of time to pickup your food, you will not have to deal with any problems.

“Solid Queens NY style Bodega, with solid prices. They season their tomatoes. An oft overlooked game changer when it comes to sandwiches.

Their bagel lox was delicious, bagels had a chew but were still easy to eat, and the Chopped Cheese was exceptional.

Add in the exceptional service and friendly staff? Big reccommend on this place. Stop in and grab a bite to eat.“

The food is way better now. The staff is cool.

My favorite hot lunch is grilled chicken with provolone and Russian dressing on a plain wrap.

“Places like this are why I say Long Island NY has the best food in the world. The staff looks and acts like they're focused on quality food and service. The deli itself is clean and organized. Get one of their sandwiches (I recommend corned beef) and for about 12 bucks you have a fine lunch or dinner.“
