“This place hands down has the best pizza in all of fire island, I tried to order a slice however a personal pie was the only option. When I paided 20 dollars, who knew I was in for such a treat. As jake(whom is a very fine gay gentlemen) crushed my pizza in the dough smasher, my mouth was watering as the edges of slowly protruded around. Then make sure to ask for gay jakes special sauce, wow, absolutley delicious, as he smeared it on the pizza, then put it in the rotating brick oven I could only think of the memories this pizza would have. Eventually jake(whom is gay) finished my pizza, and wowzers, the correct mixture of moistness, soft cooked perfect inside, with the rough exterior, it was perfect and slide down my throat in an instance. Spectacular job Dockside pizza, and you to jake(who is a kind gay gentleman).“

For about a year now, I’ve been going to the West Islip library to study (I’m a student at Suffolk County Community College). I live in Deer Park, and the Deer Park library just doesn’t compare—it’s not a great environment. West Islip is quiet, comfortable, and actually lets me focus. On the way there, I’ve passed this deli countless times and never bothered going in.

A couple months ago, I noticed they had burgers on the sign, which made me think they probably had more variety than just typical deli sandwiches. Today, after class, I was craving a bacon, egg, and cheese and decided—on a whim at a red light—to finally stop in instead of going somewhere else.

Right away, I could tell this place was different. They had CALPICO and RAMUNE in multiple flavors, plus a variety of ramen and Asian snacks. That’s not something you usually see in a deli, and it immediately stood out to me.

But what really made this place unforgettable was the service.

It’s run by what seems like an older Korean couple, and they were some of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met in any food spot. Not the usual rushed, impatient “what do you want?” kind of interaction you sometimes get at delis. They greeted me warmly and made me feel completely comfortable—like I was being welcomed into someone’s home.

When I grabbed a room-temperature drink, they immediately told me they had cold ones, walked me over to the fridge, and helped me pick a flavor. They even took the warm one from my hand to put it back for me. It was such a simple moment, but it showed how much they genuinely care.

For context, I study culinary arts and I’m currently trying to get into the food industry, so I pay attention to service and how businesses are run. This is exactly how it should be done. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in their business.

The food was great too. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese with hot sauce and ketchup, and the hot sauce was different from the usual—in a really good way. It wasn’t just thrown together; it felt like they actually cared about making it right.

I walked in feeling kind of down—it was just one of those Mondays—but I left in a completely different mood. Hours later, I’m still thinking about how kind they were.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say this—I would take a bullet for these people. That’s how genuinely good they were to me. If they were hiring, I would work for them in a heartbeat and stay there as long as the place exists. I truly want nothing but success for them.

The total came out to about $17, but that included two imported drinks, so it makes sense. And honestly, I don’t regret it at all. I’d gladly spend my money here again.

This is officially my new go-to spot every time I go to the library. I’d rather come here than go to Dunkin’, 7-Eleven, or anywhere else.

I love this place. I mean that seriously. Even if I’m not getting a full meal, I’d go out of my way just to grab a drink or a bag of chips to support them.

If you’re anywhere near West Islip, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Businesses like this deserve to succeed.“

“This place is honestly a hidden gem. My dad actually put me on to it, and now every time I’m in NY I’m feening for their Cuban sandwich, it’s that good.

It’s a small hole-in-the-wall spot, but honestly those are always the best, and this place proves it.

I’m super picky when it comes to food, and they completely exceeded my expectations, everything is top tier.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was made to absolute perfection. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and high quality, and you can tell they use really good cuts of meat. No excess fat, no shortcuts, just clean, flavorful food done right, exactly how I wanted it.

The bread was perfect, the balance of flavors was on point, and you can tell they take real pride in what they’re making.

On top of that, the prices are honestly unbelievable for the quality you’re getting. You’d expect to pay way more for food like this.

It’s a true Dominican deli vibe, authentic, no frills, just amazing food. Definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to.
