“I rarely leave reviews at a restaurant and this is my first 5 star. It has been a long long time I was this pleased about sushi. I’m from Florida and sushi there is much more expensive and less fresh. This place is awesome! Thanks Tiger“

“This place is literally the best sushi place we’ve been to in a very long time. The couple that own it are the absolute sweetest!! The service and the food is exceptional each time we’re served. The presentation is incredible, always so nice, clean and presentable! We go here at least once a week!! That’s how good this place is. It’s so underrated, I wish more people knew about this place! They deserve all the recognition possible! Thank you so much for your delicious food and warm atmosphere! We love it!!“

“Enjoyed a Salmon Poke Bowl at Sukiya Ramen & Poke, near Utopia Parkway & Francis Lewis Blvd. I got it with spicy mayo—delicious—and it was fun eating out of a giant bowl with a spoon. The place looks clean, and the staff is friendly.“

“I chose the sushi deluxe, and I guess it’s similar to an omakase style. They told me it would be 9 pieces with one roll, and honestly, all the selections were great. The fish was very fresh and high quality. I was also really impressed by their service.
My friend and I were deep in conversation and lost track of time, but they never rushed us to leave. I will definitely be coming back and will make a reservation next time (we were lucky to get seats with no wait just by walking in)!“

“If you find yourself wandering through Rye and craving a culinary experience that feels both sophisticated and soul-warming, Oko is the absolute gold standard for modern Japanese fare. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between minimalist chic and neighborhood warmth, making it an ideal spot for a curated dinner that never feels stuffy.
The craftsmanship behind each piece of scallop nigiri is evident in the way the flavors are balanced, providing a clean yet incredibly rich profile that lingers just long enough on the palate. It is rare to find seafood handled with such reverence, where the natural brininess of the scallop is elevated rather than masked by unnecessary garnishes. Each bite feels like a celebratory nod to traditional techniques reimagined for a contemporary audience, and it is honestly worth the trip to Rye for this dish alone. Oko delivers an unforgettable bite that will have you planning your return before the check even hits the table.“

“Absolutely delicious, food is amazing, if your able to sit down and eat it's a nice spot to do so. But because the food is good, it gets pretty packed. Great prices for alot of food. And the Fried chicken Dumplings are great. I ate them so fast I didn't take a picture. ? ?“

“Fujinoya has been my family’s top favorite Japanese spot in all of Westchester - aside from Sazan in Ardsley - boasting a delicious authentic menu, kind Japanese staff, and a cozy vibe that’s small yet inviting. The seasonal offerings are always a standout, including the sukiyaki hot pot that’s my all-time fave! 😋 highly recommended“

“I found this amazing restaurant via Google Maps & I’m glad I did! Ordered through Grubhub & everything arrived warm, freshly made & with plentiful amounts! Yum!
BBQ Spare Ribs were amazing in taste & fully cooked, not too soft, just right! Scallion pancakes arrived very crispy & not soggy like others I’ve had! Pork fried rice was seasoned perfectly! They also accommodated my no egg request in the rice for an added bonus! Dumplings were delicious with an adequate amount of juicy pork filling! Boneless BBQ ribs were soft, full of sauce & tasty as well! Prices are a bit higher, but you get your money’s worth overall! Try it you’ll be happy you did!“

“Was super excited to try some rolls tonight after a 12 hour work day, but unfortunately after 45 minutes of waiting patiently inside for them to be prepared they still were not ready and hadn’t even been started to be made. Staff not entirely apologetic. Asked for refund and won’t be back.“

“We moved from Port Washington to MA this May and have been unable to find a spot that offers everything that Aki does, not to mention at the same quality! They just execute everything so well. It was our go to for sushi, we loved the apps (the crispy rice and jalapeño yellowtail are fire), and loved also having options for classic Chinese food. We loved that it offered a little bit of everything. We only ever ordered takeout but the service was always top notch too. We love and miss you Aki!“

“Ordered takeout and I realized after getting to the hotel that they got my order wrong. It ended up being so good that I wasn’t even upset about the error.
To start, I love the menu and really appreciate the variety of options for simple rolls (healthy, limited/no filler ingredients) versus the usual sole focus on an array of specialty rolls. Additionally, the portions were perfect, especially the rice to protein ratio, and the prices are incredibly fair.
Lastly, i’m a fanatic for avocado maki rolls, and the avocado was so perfectly RIPE that it was borderline melting in my mouth. It might sound silly, but I was in heaven lol.
Place also looked super clean when I came in to pick up my order. Would absolutely love to come and dine-in next time.“

“What a great experience. The Sushi was the best we’ve ever had. The freshness and the presentation of every plate was a work of art. The owner, Steve welcomed us as if we were part of the family. Could not have asked for a better experience. The service is top notch.“

“A cozy and relaxing dining experience with authentic Japanese cuisine. What I enjoy most are the surprise complimentary appetizers that appear with sometime other later gratuitous treats. The entire staff including servers are genuinely welcoming. A small but relaxing ambiance. Enjoy the experience!“

“Food is very good. The sweet potato rolls were good as well as the sashimi app. Sashimi arrived still cold which is a big plus. Chicken teriyaki with fried rice was also good. Everything tasted fresh which I was happy with. No real complaints there.
Only thing to mention is the Chicken teriyaki. It had way much rice and not enough protein. Other than that I’d order again. Probably avoid the teriyaki next time.👍“

“One of the best Ramen Bars I’ve ever been to. The flavors across the menu are unreal. The Spicy Miso Ramen w/ Pork Belly in particular was one of the best soup broths I’ve ever tasted. The service staff could not have been more friendly and courteous. The quaint setting and atmosphere lend themselves to almost feel like sitting at one big family style dinner table.“

“Been coming here for years, this place serve good Japanese food and at a decent prices for many years. My favorite is always bento (any bento) and soup.
Also want to add, this is the first Japanese restaurant I ate from. Thus begin my journey to try many different Japanese restaurants for their food and cultures.“

“First time trying after a friend’s recommendation. We ordered five plates. Wow. Loved every bite. Their food is fresh and delicious. The vegetable gyoza was the best I’ve had. Warm reception at the front counter, even for a take out order. Tucked in the middle of one of the quaintest blocks in New York. Can’t wait to go back.“

“I don’t know about the rest of you all, but this is by far, the best Japanese Cuisine place in the Area. Some of the best items from their menu The Angry Dragon Sushi, The Shrimp tempura, and the Spicy Salmon rolls.
Also try the gyoza and the amazing Kani salad (regular or spicy)
Also the presentation is outstanding, and don’t forget to try their amazing Thai ice Tea which is homemade. 100% recommended. 🫶🏻
PS: ask for their Fried Oreo Dessert, you won’t regret it😊“

“If you are looking for wonderful food served by good people, excellent fresh sushi at a good price can be found at this intimate mom-and-pop spot in College Point.
We happened upon Akiyama while looking for dinner after most places in the area had closed for the night. We were presented with a most enjoyable meal of, beef-negimaki, New York maki, wasabi shumai, una-ju, tea and plum wine … and a lovely after-dinner discussion with the owner and a regular customer. All of the food was just great: the negimaki was tender and flavorful, the wasabi shumai had just the right bite. Each of the other dishes also didn’t disappoint. We intend to be back … often. Free off-street parking and a warm ambience inside seal the deal. In a city swimming in sushi restaurants, this little gem, tucked away in the northeastern corner of Queens is one not to be missed.“

I have been going for a long time ..FISH is better than places costing 4 times the price ..The weekends include a few special choices of fantastic fish that NO place at this price point sells ..done expertly with individual sauces and condiments .. Place has recently had the sushi bar done with all new display fish chillers .. Avery is the head sushi Chef ..make sure he’s there before going ..he really knows his stuff ..he’s only off one day and and comes late on one day also for only the dinner shift ..it changes so i cant give the days he’s there“

“Best Sushi in Yonkers. All the rolls are absolutely fresh and decadent. The quesadillas are excellent as well. A fun mix of Sushi & Mexican. A must go to if ever in Yonkers. I even dare say it is the best sushi in the Bronx. They are located less than 1/3 of a mile from the Bronx border and they deliver to the surrounding neighborhood in the Bronx. The guy who took our order is very amicable. The sushi chef prepares the rolls right in front of you. It was a great experience.“

“This place has the potential of being staple in the harlem neighborhood. It more of Americanized Japanese food that they serve. Which is not a bad thing, this is good place if you want something different but still stay in the familiarity of dishes. Their prices are very fairand give good portion sizes. I will recommend for you to come try it if you never been. It's definitely a place to go for lunch or picking up something quick.“

“Stopped in for drinks, only had clear broth which was delicious, so I cannot comment on the food, but my friend had the teriyaki salmon and said it was great. The service was so great. Ken was our bartender and he was very friendly and kind. Shared a bit about his life and made excellent drinks and recommendations. He even offered to take a photo for us. His service was stellar and he really became the highlight of our night. 10/10 recommend getting drinks with Ken and dinner at Yumi before any night out!!“
