“The first time I had Rita's was at the Bellefonte DE location. I remember the cake batter custard and watermelon gelati being extremely good, but that I got a brain freeze from slurping on the gelati layer too fast. I always wondered what the Italian ice would taste like blended in with the custard. The "blendini" today (custard, Oreo bites, mango gelati thanks to Yousef's recommendation, and hot fudge) was like a McFlurry on steroids, with all of the ingredients perfectly blended. No brain freeze and a much needed fix when you desire cream on a snowy weekend. Friendly service made this visit a great experience. Glad to take advantage of this location before it starts to get packed during the summer months.“

This is a great family run deli, with the whole family helping to make super authentic tacos in the back. They still make the ice cream cakes with the crunches, too. The service is pretty good, and they will allow you to customize your order with toppings, etc. Be mindful and patient of customer surges and the occasional understaffing.The dining space is limited to the two historic, small benches outside the building. Of course, you can sit in your car in the parking lot to indulge in a cool treat. I also love that they're open year-round because even in the winter, I'll eat ice cream! We typically go for their ice cream sandwiches. My go-to is the Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, Mint Ice Cream, and Chocolate Chips. I also love their Holy Cannoli Ice Cream! Relatively recently, I tried a donut sandwich. While it was good, the glaze was a little sticky and it was a little tough to eat. I recommend sticking with the cookies as your sandwich "bread" for these!“

Never had any issues with anyone behind the counter - though it's also been the same guy for several years that I've dealt with and haven't seen anyone else. As I mentioned in the opening, the Fudgie the Whale cake is my personal favorite and I'd come here for nothing else but that if need be. If you've never had it and also like chocolate & ice cream, then you need to have it at least once. They have the typical selection in the freezers and of course you can just come in and get a cone. You can order a cake ahead of time if you need to as well. They will of course write whatever you want on the cake. Parking is street - main street is metered (and they give tickets around here). Nothing too much to say since it's Carvel and they're known for one thing. All I can type is that they've been here for many years and have always been dependable for whatever I needed.“

For what it is and the prices, this place deserves five stars. I cut back to four stars on the food and wrote this review in hopes that management would take notice and solve the avocado ripeness issue.“
