“My only complaint is that the lone worker today, when I was paying with a credit card (without tap) took my card and tried to use tap. Before she took my card I was going to put it into the card processor. When I pointed out that it doesn’t have tap, she (2x’s) typed my card information into the register screen and it was declined (plenty of credit was available because I got gas with it shortly after). I then used my debit card which she just took from me and again tried to use tap (again not a feature on that card either). She was finally able to put my card information for the debit card and it went through. If she had let me put my card in in the first place there would have been no problem with the original transaction attempt. I feel some of the staff might need better/more training on using the register.“

“Lost Borough is an incredibly special ice cream place located on a cute stream in downtown Yonkers. Its flavors include rare gems like brigadeiro and chinola. Its staff is welcoming and gracious. And the prices are gloriously affordable. Did I mention the free toppings? If you are passing anywhere near Yonkers, this is a must stop.“

“I was there for the first time a few weeks ago. Was so impressed! The vanilla soft serve actually had flavor. Most places I make them put a ton of toppings on just so it has some flavor. Also, the medium was so large my two nieces that normally want larges could barely finish it. So you definitely get your moneys worth. My only question is I want to bring a friend who’s allergic to eggs. I called the shop and they said they didn’t know if there was eggs in the ice cream (If it wasn’t for my friend, I would never know that many places like Carvel does use eggs to make it more creamier). So do you use eggs in your soft serve?“

It was my first visit at New Territories, a Hong Kong inspired ice cream and dessert shop. When I walked in, I was greeted by nuz one of the workers there. Warm welcome & big smile.She was super informative about the menu and so much fun to talk to. Then I met the owner , Pete. Explained to me to story of the store pretty amazing. They are famous for their bubble waffles. Was hot and fresh with along with vanilla ice cream & sprinkles. I had the double lemon float with lemonade and lemon sherbet as well. Store was very clean. There was about 15 flavors of ice cream to choose from. Definitely will be going back. I had a Valentine’s event on feb15th which needed to be rescheduled to the 22nd and I canceled the order last minute for 30 boxes of chocolate covered strawberries. They didn’t charge me a single cent. I got the same order for the following week and they did an absolutely amazing job. The BEST CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES EVER!!!! “End of an era. I used to love going to this Carvel as it’s right in the neighborhood. I tried going today 2/16/2026, only to find out it’s another ice cream shop and Carvel, no longer. This Carvel had been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember. It will be missed.“

I called a 11 ice cream cake shops in the area only to be told that it was impossible without the right mold. One place even asked me to order a mold for them and they would see if they could make the cake but wanted to charge double for the effort. I randomly found this Carvel in Hackensack and after explaining what I wanted, one of the staff members brainstormed ways to make the cake come to life. I sent them a picture and out came the best rocket ship ice cream cake that anyone had ever eaten! The cake looked beautiful, tasted delicious and most importantly, my child was super happy. “Really good local place. Met up with 2 friends for breakfast a week ago. We grew up in the area, use to visit Bennys 45 years ago when it was more of a convenience store. Today’s Bennys is really well done. Service was great, waitress was extremely nice, friendly throughout our time there. Food was spot on, omlettes, salad, and biscuits with gravy, 2 eggs over easy could not have been better. Prices a little steep, but that’s par for the course these days. Anyway, highly recommend“
