“I am in town for the weekend and stopped in for coffee and breakfast at about 11 am on a Saturday. I was originally going to pick up food to head back over to the airbnb but ended up staying while I ate a chicken empanada, an Everything Flagel (flat bagel) with lox cream cheese, and a cup of coffee. As I ate, a lot of people came and went and seemed to know the place really well. It appears to be a family business and the customer service is friendly and efficient. The parking is plentiful and convenient, and the place is clean with a great assortment of fresh bagels. The coffee is fresh and average tasting. I was amazed at how many people ordered ordered bagels with the inside fluff scooped out, which I have been doing forever. This is why I was so happy to discover the Flagel which I asked them to scoop out anyway, but there was less to scoop out because it is already flat. I'm interested only in the crispy part, not the soft bready part inside. The empanada was great. They have chicken and beef. If you buy 6 of them, then the 7th one is free. The dessert/sweets assortment varied from things that looked homemade to packaged cookies to muffins from Costco. To go, I bought 2 more garlic bagels with lox and regular cream cheese, a bagel with some homemade chicken salad, a beef and a chicken empanada, plus a black-and-white cookie (which was fresh and delicious even though it was prepackaged.) This place is great, and I wish there was one like this where I live in Redondo Beach, CA. The only negative thing I have to say about Bethpage Bagels is that I wish that they would accept some form of payment other than only cash. Even if it were Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal, any other option would be an easier and more sanitary way to pay for food. I don't like seeing people in a food establishment handling dirty coins and bills if they are also putting food into bags and containers. That's the only reason why I didn't give this place a 5-star rating. If this were not a cash only establishment, I would've purchased 7 empanadas to go, instead of only 2!“

“The owner is one of the nicest and hard-working men you will ever meet. Guaranteed, this is arguably one of the best delis in the East Meadow-Bellmore area. I highly recommend you get their bacon, egg and cheeses OR any of their bagels. You won't be disappointed.“

“My brother and I were craving a real bagel so we set out to try finding a nice place and grab a half dozen. He remembered “ Poppy’s bagels”. The staff were very nice and attentive. It’s a nice cozy place and well cared for. Clean and we definitely will be new customers of theirs. The bagels were delicious and fresh, even stopping at 1:30 in the afternoon. I was very impressed. “Food are surprisingly not bad. Ordered a poke bowl and Mrs D fried chicken. The fried chicken was juicy, and skin was crunchy and crispy though it is more of a dried spice type of chicken. There is a bench with 4 tiny tables for dine-up and 2 bathroom. Will definitely order again.“

They have a great selection, some highlights include egg, egg everything, tidied, everything, garlic, and salt bagels. Their lox cream cheese is amazing! “We ordered a 5’ hero - half fried chicken cutlet with peppers and mozzarella and half with lettuce , tomato and cheese. We also ordered mild Buffalo wings. “I grew up on Long Island, then lived in Queens for years, worked in all 5 boroughs, and moved back. I’ve tried bagels from almost everywhere anyone has recommended - nothing tops a real LI bagel! We stopped in here yesterday morning and had some of the BEST bagels I’ve had in a long time. The cream cheese flavors were fun and new and we got to sample a couple before making our choices. They tasted like they were made with intention and care and not just chunky ingredients mixed together like a lot of the other places around here. The woman behind the counter was so friendly and clearly loves her job. If she’s the owner, she loves her store and it shows! The jalepeno cherry pepper cream cheese was phenomenal and the brownie batter cream cheese on a french toast bagel was actually insane. My family found our new go-to spot! Highly recommend!“

“i got the chicken cutlet cup bap. it was good. The japchae was great and the kimchi wasn't too strong, but the chicken was a little bit burnt and the rice lacked salt. Otherwise, nice place, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. But the cups are 13 dollars, not 12 as it says in the store or $15 like on here.“

“I love this place, much better than other delis in the area. However, they are a bit more pricey than the others. Bagels are always delicious and the staff are always friendly and kind. One big reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because the staff do not change their gloves regularly. They will touch cash, the register, other things around the store, and then go touch your bagel. Disgusting! Either have 1 hand for food and the other for money or just change your gloves between orders.“

They have the best bacon and egg sandwiches and their tuna and chicken salads are always a welcome sight back home. Their bagels are always fresh and flavorful no matter what variety I get. I've come to know the owner, Boris, and his staff, and they are always most helpful. Looking forward to my next trip to Merrick.“
