“Reliably the best Chinese takeout in the area. The fried dumplings are so good that when my friend and I share takeout, we get an order to share, and we each get our own order for "leftovers". If you really wanna go crazy though, the fried wantons are even better. The ribs are done just right, too. All the standard American Chinese dishes are there, and everything is always very good. My go-to is chicken and cashews and I'm a big fan of how they chop all the veggies into cubes and then the chicken pieces are larger. To me this is exactly what you want from a Chinese takeout. They aren't trying to do anything unique or fancy, they're making the dishes you expect, perfectly. There can be a wait on the weekends, so make sure to call ahead.“
“Clean place for quick & easy takeout with a good sized parking lot that is easy to get in & out of. Very good and fresh tasting food. Good Chinese for what's in the area. Picture is general tso lunch which is enough for 2 servings and fried donuts that were plentiful and half eaten in this pic for $13ish. Fried rice was good. Would stop by again.“
“Wayyyyy better than your average buffet but the selection was not spectacular; I wish they had more seafood and meifun for dinner ( they only have it at lunch. ) Gave it 5 stars because the prices are amazing and the staff there is wonderful. Will come back again and again.“
“We have always gotten great take out from here. The atmosphere is 2 out of 5 because they should be back to normal after Covid but they still have the eating areas blocked off for some reason. It would be nice if they were opened up for in person sit down dining but realistically it is a take out spot - so - that is fine .Beyond that, the woman at the counter has been nothing but nice. She's very quick and approach's everything with a purpose which I like. Absolutely no fuss, keeps the orders moving, very nice.We love the food. I would recommend going here!“
“While working nearby I saw their sign. What a hidden gem!!!The atmosphere is great. I love the decor, It reminded be of the pride that used to be in Chinese restaurants. The service was top notch and the food was so tasty. We ordered the lunch trays. Very unique presentation. The staff was friendly and neat.Stop here! You won't be disappointed!“
“The people here complaining about the General Tso chicken really need help, they make the best General Tso chicken around, it's always crispy and never had a problem with it, the people making the bad remarks I bet never ate there, they just post bad remarks.“
“My favorite place to get take out. The food has never disappointed me here. Always very fast and very fresh.Even though they have a huge seating area in the back, it is mainly a take away restaurant. They do have a small indoor seating area in front, but it is not full table service. So, don't expect to have a sit down meal with guests. But for those nights that you happened to burn the casserole, the cat ate the chicken off the counter, or you are just down for some great Chinese food...this is the place.“
“Jesus I am from Westchester and I love they Chinese food down the way. Poughkeepsie‘s Chinese food is nasty. I went there to a storage unit to pick up my stuff and once a Chinese food googled and they came up very friendly. Most of all food was A1. Reminded me of westchester cause I couldn’t get no good Chinese here In “
“Eng's has been an area favorite for over 90 years. I have been going there for over 60 of those years. The food was outstanding when I first went there as a child with my mom and it is outstanding now. In fact it is the only restaurant that I am aware of that has consistently maintained their recipes over the decades. They are the only Chinese restaurant that still prepares chicken chow mein and other dishes the old fashioned way, like the chop suey houses from an era gone by. I see negative reviews from the past few years coinciding with the mass exodus of Citidiots from Brooklyn, Manhattan and the rest of New York City. It's no surprise that the Citidiots would leave negative reviews given their rude, snotty behavior in stores, on the roads and elsewhere in public. They come upstate to escape the crime and stench of New York City and then try their best to transform upstate into their personal Brooklyn. Do us all a favor; go back to where you came from. You are not wanted or welcome. Go back to New York and your fru-fru kale restaurants that you apparently miss so much.“
“Golden Wok has very good fud. I have eaten there at least weekly for many years. I like the steamed vegetables, house special soup, noodle dishes and many choices not found elsewhere. Do not expect elaborate service and decore is simple. There are good views of Red Hook life out the windows..“
“Best Chinese food I have ever had outside of the city.. I could taste fresh ginger and real chiles. The vegetables were perfection, crisp, fresh. The chicken was tender, with good quality chunks, no gristle. The sauce was so good that I literally drank it when the food was done. Not one of those corn starch, or syrupy sauces. A good old fashioned sauce. Wow. I don't live close, but this place is worth the trip and I'll go again !“
