“The north country as whole was really lacking in the food department, Jake’s makes it a bit more tolerable. Only ever gotten take out but have really no complaints foods pretty good. Will say it is a bit expensive for what you get, but such is the world right now. If I were to ever go back to Potsdam, and I hope I never do, Jake’s would be my first choice to eat.“
“Went there about a week ago for the first time. food took almost hr to get..my appetizer (irish nachos i think they were called) was massive more like a meal but sooo good. For meal I got the turkey sandwich wasn't really for me. Husband got hot wings which were more mild..service was ok...had to ask another waitress for straw and napkins because didn't see ours for a good 30m but will definitely go back.“
“Great food and great prices. Two of us walked away from breakfast with a bill of less than $15. The maple syrup for the pancakes is the real deal, not an imitation. The coffee is a step up from most diners. This new diner in town is worth checking out.“
“This place is great! A delicious bagel/breakfast place on a picturesque main street. You can build your own or go with their inventive menu. I highly recommended the lumberjack on a French toast bagel. They have a community room, bathroom locks that tell you if it is occupied or not and a wonderful charm of exposed brick of an old building.“
“We were a little worried when the parking lot was full, but after a very short wait we got a table. The wait staff was outstanding!! Even though they were super busy, our drinks, then salads arrived quickly. The fish fry was delicious! Reaaonable price. Great date night! Thank you, Eben's Hearth!“
“Although we chose possibly the busiest weekend to visit for our first time, we had an amazing experience. It was parents' week at the local colleges and although the dining rooms were busy, they were not overrun or chaotic; there was always one or two empty tables- which proves the management are knowledgeable about spacing their reservations, and the wait staff were able to be attentive to everyone without being overwhelmed.Our server was incredibly friendly and happy, quick but very attentive and eager to make suggestions and answer questions. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and eclectic in the main house, and more modern and spacious in the rear dining room where we were seated. We had a lovely view next to the window of the property and gardens.All of the food was exquisite, and very clear that the chef and kitchen staff are well seasoned in fine dining operations.We ordered from every course, and happily took leftovers home.I would encourage the management to invest in an espresso machine for cappuccino etc, but that did not detract from our wonderful visit.Parking: Parking is a gravel lot behind the building, be careful if you are using mobility aids or fancy shoes. Not well lit in the evening.“
“A hidden gem in Potsdam! Amazing list of draught beer along with an inspired menu and beautiful presentation. Ahi tuna Nicosie salad, Cajun seafood chowder, and a Meier's Creek Velvet Fog IPA made for an amazing lunch. The modernized rustic atmosphere was impressive!“
“Definitely a hidden gem in Potsdam. My husband and I had several excellent and delicious lunches. This is THE place to buy steaks. The steaks are exceptional fresh or properly aged. We purchased aged delmonico which was half the cost from Wegmans. We’ve now had multiple purchases of picanha beef. These picanha beef are most yummy and inexpensive beef. I highly recommend the place for meal or purchase meats.“
