“While searching restaurants to eat at upon arriving, we found this place and decided to try. We walked in and it was so warm and cozy, and such an inviting atmosphere. The vibe and decor were every selfies dream. Marco Antonio was very attentive and helpful with questions and recommendations. I ordered the Colombian Burger and fries with a Sangria and my bestie ordered the Rellena Arepa with Tamarindo Margarita, we also had the Guacamole and Tostones as an app, everything was absolutely delicious!! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!!“

“During my time in Kingston last year, I enjoyed a lot of the menu options such as the fruit salads (especially the ones with chocolate in it). I especially enjoyed the banana crepe, velvet crepe, chicken crepe, garlic beef crepe, and the chocolavo drink. All the options were quite unique and worth the price. It's too bad this place is closed though. I really wish there was a restaurant in my current area that is at least remotely similar to Fruit Festival.“

I’ve driven past The Empanada Spot a hundred times and always told myself “one day.” Well, that “one day” finally happened last week when a late-night craving hit. Let me tell you: I walked in curious and left absolutely mind-blown.

These are not your average empanadas. I ordered the classic beef, and when they handed me the bag I could already hear the faint sizzle through the paper. One bite and I legitimately stopped in the middle of the parking lot — the dough is perfection. Golden, flaky on the outside, soft and slightly chewy within, with that ideal crisp edge that shatters just right. The filling? Juicy, perfectly seasoned ground beef with a depth of flavor that makes you wonder how something so simple can taste this good. It was still piping hot, the kind of hot that forces you to do the little “blow-on-it” dance, and I’m not even mad about it.

What elevated the whole experience was the vibe inside. Even late at night, the staff greeted me like I was a regular they’d been waiting for all day. Smiles everywhere, genuine enthusiasm when I asked what their favorite was, and zero rush even though they were clearly winding down. It felt like walking into a friend’s kitchen who just happens to make world-class empanadas.

I’m already plotting my return — the chicken, the cheese pull on the queso ones, maybe the spicy pork if I’m feeling bold. The Empanada Spot didn’t just satisfy a late-night craving; it created a new addiction.

“This is the Lomo Saltado (top left) and the Super Bandeja Tipica (bottom center). My mom is Peruvian and was really impressed with how big and juicy the Lomo Saltado was for the price. The restaurant is extremely new and well kept. I'm very impressed and will be returning again.“

“Food was great. As all other restaurants the price is average (between $17 - $23$) a plate. We went on a cold Sunday (winter) during lunch hour. There wasn’t a whole lot of people and food came out rather quickly. We had Bandeja Paisa, Caldo de Costilla, and Pollo empanizado. Only thing I did not like was when paying for the bill one of the ladies messed up with the change and did not realize until I told her she was short but other than that all was good.“

By the end of the meal, he was saying he might come back again tomorrow! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and tasted just like a home-cooked meal. The portions were generous, and the prices were very affordable. It’s the perfect takeout spot when you’re not in the mood to cook but still want something warm, hearty, and satisfying. “Kiwi Line is a small restaurant but with a very pleasant space to enjoy a good açaí bowl. The place is cozy and simple, which makes it inviting to sit down and eat, although I do think they should improve the air circulation or add better cooling since it gets quite hot inside, and that takes away from the overall comfort of the experience.

The açaí bowl itself was excellent: great flavor, a generous portion of fruit, and a good serving of açaí, making it both fresh and filling. It’s definitely one of the good spots in Queens if you’re looking for a well-prepared açaí bowl.

My rating is four stars instead of five because of one detail that I think is important for customer service. When paying with a credit card, they charge an additional 4% fee. In my opinion, this should be factored into the restaurant’s operating costs and not passed on to the customer. That change would make the experience much more transparent and positive.

Overall, Kiwi Line is a good place to enjoy an açaí bowl in Queens, with solid quality and flavor, but with room for improvement in comfort inside the store and in the credit card fee policy.“
