“I’ve been living in Astoria for so long, and I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this place sooner. It truly feels like a hidden gem to me. Konstantinos took such great care of us, and the whole staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every dish I tried was outstanding—so well-balanced and absolutely delicious. The whole vibe was relaxed and chill. Complimentary galaktabouruko was better than everything Thank you for such a wonderful experience!“

“I'll focus on three main dishes of Bosnian cuisine: ćevapi, pljeskavica, and burek. This review comes from someone who grew up eating Bosnian food, my mother is from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Having eaten ćevapi and burek all over the Balkans, I consider myself something of an expert on this cuisine. If you have a similar background, keep in mind that this isn't your local Sarajevo, Banja Luka, or Mostar joint, so curb your expectations accordingly.

For what it is, the ćevapi and pljeskavica are a solid B+ compared to best I ate, probably the best you’ll find within a 500-mile radius of NYC. However, the burek (or more precisely sirnica, the cheese pie) is mediocre at best, bland and lacking flavor. It tastes like cardboard. I have a feeling it's pre-frozen and not made fresh on-site.

New Yorkers should definitely give this place a try - it offers a unique and interesting alternative to hamburgers and other fast food options.

Prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly, subway station is just around the corner. Four stars ****“

“So - I really like Taim, because the flavors are good. Even if you messed up on what to add (which can be very confusing at times), it still taste good. I had ordered lunch on the app, and did notice that it took considerably longer... but the staff is not slowing down, they are urgently filling orders and the cashier / person filling the ubers and all orders is very active and driven.

I wish for their app or menu, a taste description is there for some of the items. Though, I know - which restaurant has that? But I think for a place with so much of these fixing, it helps a person like me to understand the flavor or what I am going to get.

My order was accurate to what I had asked. Additionally, the food court this Taim was in was really nice.“

“Contacted the Queens Room for a party of 15 the day before a memorial at St. Michael's and the owner, Antonia hooked us up. The service was on point and the food was delicious. She suggested pre-ordering appetizers for our guests which came out promptly after our drink orders were in. Antonia made herself available via email and phone just in case we had a change in plans which was comforting on a day that was difficult. We had a vegan, vegetarian and a gluten free guest and there were filling options for all of them. I highly recommend The Queens Room for the service and food. This will be my family go to from now on.

Kid-friendliness: We had a four year old and a 2 year old and we were given a high chair and the kids enjoyed their meals.“

“I recently visited Pita Hot and had the best shawarma sandwich I've ever had. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the sandwich was stuffed to the brim. The staff was also very friendly and gave me a free falafel while I waited. I will definitely be back again soon!“

“Amazing experience!! I go here RELIGIOUSLY, no other restaurant compares. I’ve tried other places but always come back to Taza. Their food is fresh, delicious and have a variety of options, not to mention with the best price. All the workers are super nice and are VERY generous with their servings, especially for the bowl. They truly care about their customers happiness. They closed for a few days for renovations and I swear I was having withdrawals. But 10/10, I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Their Dutch baby “Primadonna” pancake and lobster roll are to die for. Much of what is on the menu it’s imported from Italy of the finest ingredients. It’s always fun to take the ferry across from Manhattan to the Pepsi Cola Sign and walk a couple of blocks. They can accommodate large groups, children, pets, wheelchairs, (you name it) at their outdoor seating. Run there. 😊💕“

“Amazing food!!! I love Turkish food and I always want to try the adana kebab from different places. Lokanta so far has the best adana kebab and delicious appetizers. Fast delivery, fresh and warm. Will definitely keep ordering and want to try other dishes. Totally will recommend Lokanta as one of the best Turkish grills in NYC. Dont forget to try their baklava!!!!!“

“Food is amazing, from appetizers to main course and love the desserts. My fave one is the rice pudding. The busboys really work hard here. On Ramadan deff have to make reservations. Was here nost recently for ramadan last week with my family of 10 of us and every seat was occupied we sat in the backyard area that was heated and I thought even though the restaurant was at full capacity the food arrived on time and good and everything tasted good service was also good. It's deff 1 of the best turkish restaurants that offers a good menu and something for everyone including children.“

“This was our first time trying Mediterranean food and certainly the first time trying this place. Food was actually really, really good and exceeded our expectations. Ingredients are very fresh, chicken & steak shawarma was flavorful. Food was light but very filling. One thing though, the music was way too loud and we thought we ordered two bowls. Slight miscommunication but the man at the front was extremely friendly. Everything turned out fine because that one bowl was filling enough for the both of us! We've been very health conscious these days so we'll definitely be back. This and Pokeworks is now our two favorite spots.“

“Went here with my boyfriend for Valentine's day after reading other great reviews - Our waitress was outstanding and attentive, A+. The restaurant was nicely decorated , really making it feel like Valentine's day. We both ordered the Surf & Turf which was excellent, I really enjoyed all the food. Steak and Lobster were both cooked perfectly (Medium rare on the steak of course). Sat at a high top table by a window. It was a fun and romantic night! Thank you!“

Hummus is perfect ?. They have a few tables inside but it's a bit congested & they also have outdoor dining space.

Parking: Metered street parking outside & free street parking on the inner residential blocks. Parking is always full in this area & neighborhood, so prepare to drive around a little bit to find an available spot.“

“I'd like to give kudos to Nick and his staff at Veranda Restaurant & Cafe. We held my daughter's bridal shower brunch for 22 people there today under the pergola. The food was excellent, and the waitstaff led by Daniel was impeccable! I highly recommend this venue.

Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to cilantro, so they prepared guacamole specially for me without this ingredient.

“Ukus is a humble place with a lot of heart and great food. Located on a less busy side of 30th Ave, this mom-n-pop Balkan restaurant operated by a Montenegran family offers a variety of Balkan staples with minimum fuss and maximum taste.

The burek is flaky and flavorful and I usually stick to cheese or spinach, but they also have meat, cabbage, and potato slices. I brought two friends along who’d never tried Balkan cuisine and they were instantly in love with the cevapi, which was grilled to perfection and complemented perfectly with raw onions, ajvar, kajmak, and develops warm bread.

We also really enjoyed the pausili, which had a really delicious smoky flavor; this was my favorite dish and one I will definitely go out of my way for on cold days. We also tried the sudzukice, which I think I actually preferred over the cevapi because I found the thin beef sausages to be a bit more moist and flavorful.

“I ordered a very large delivery for an office luncheon. My coworkers are very difficult to please, and they all loved this food. The delivery driver was named Thanasis and he was the best. He called ahead of time and asked if we needed anything to keep the food warm. Then he set up all of the food for us and even gave us some tips on the best way to eat the food. Definitely will be ordering again.“

“Everything was good except I was extremely disappointed with my drink I ordered a coke they filled glass to top with ice so very little soda maybe 3 sips and charged $5.00 and no refills because of that being so cheap not to even have a full glass at that price I will not go back or recommend to my friends! Also with my dinner shishkbob they do not give you any pita bread and they charge $6.00 more for the same thing as lunch special and you get nothing more not even a piece of bread!“
