“I’ve been living in Astoria for so long, and I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this place sooner. It truly feels like a hidden gem to me. Konstantinos took such great care of us, and the whole staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every dish I tried was outstanding—so well-balanced and absolutely delicious. The whole vibe was relaxed and chill. Complimentary galaktabouruko was better than everything Thank you for such a wonderful experience!“

“Please come. It’s family owned I believe. Very nice people. Very homey and to the point joint. We asked about the different beverages and they explained it so well. Got Mixed meat for 2. The long sausage was by far my favorite. Chicken was tender and juicy. The kidneys were so good. And finally the Sweetbreads( Beef pancreas) something I’ve never had before. I had to call them to get the name. My first time having that and Bosnian food. Both such a great experience. Every was fresh, everything was hot, even the pita bread, it was clearly made in house and was so fresh. I’m not sure who’s the chef here but they get down! The Cockta which was recommended was so good I had to buy another. I will be back!“

“Always fresh and delicious food options including Vegetarian choices. Chef Omer combines Turkish food specialties with Classical American street food. They have Gozleme (Turkish Pancake) with Cheese, Potato or Spinach, amazing grilled fresh fish, chicken gyro, falafel, tacos… Even Turkish Tea. Thank you for bringing this wonderful menu to us.

“Great place, decent portion size for the price, delicious and scrumptious flavorful food. Highly recommend the lamb and chicken sandwich, you get a great mix of flavors. Relatively filling but not too much, just the right amount. Roughly 1.63 Big Macs in size but obviously much higher quality. Better than a Big Mac 100%. Great service as well, they are very friendly and nice. A small area to sit if it’s not busy, but easy to eat the sandwiches to go as well. Would definitely go again and try something else.“

“Amazing experience!! I go here RELIGIOUSLY, no other restaurant compares. I’ve tried other places but always come back to Taza. Their food is fresh, delicious and have a variety of options, not to mention with the best price. All the workers are super nice and are VERY generous with their servings, especially for the bowl. They truly care about their customers happiness. They closed for a few days for renovations and I swear I was having withdrawals. But 10/10, I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Their Dutch baby “Primadonna” pancake and lobster roll are to die for. Much of what is on the menu it’s imported from Italy of the finest ingredients. It’s always fun to take the ferry across from Manhattan to the Pepsi Cola Sign and walk a couple of blocks. They can accommodate large groups, children, pets, wheelchairs, (you name it) at their outdoor seating. Run there. 😊💕“

“Me and my friends went to tru Astoria for brunch today the weather was amazing and so was the service the blond server I think her name was Ashley she was so sweet and fun we had so many laughs she also gave us great recommendations and I have to say the steak and eggs were BOMB! “Got a kebab platter, chicken platter & meatball platters. All the meat was delicious & the rice was soft & flavorful. I just wish they would put a little more meatballs in the meatball platter. Hummus is perfect ?. They have a few tables inside but it's a bit congested & they also have outdoor dining space.

Parking: Metered street parking outside & free street parking on the inner residential blocks. Parking is always full in this area & neighborhood, so prepare to drive around a little bit to find an available spot.“

“I'd like to give kudos to Nick and his staff at Veranda Restaurant & Cafe. We held my daughter's bridal shower brunch for 22 people there today under the pergola. The food was excellent, and the waitstaff led by Daniel was impeccable! I highly recommend this venue.

Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to cilantro, so they prepared guacamole specially for me without this ingredient.

It came with salad, white sauce, and warm pita, which rounded out the meal nicely. Only downside was the rice, which I found too mushy and a bit bland for my taste. Overall, a solid spot for Middle Eastern flavors with well-prepared meats. Worth checking out if you're in the area.“

“Ukus is a humble place with a lot of heart and great food. Located on a less busy side of 30th Ave, this mom-n-pop Balkan restaurant operated by a Montenegran family offers a variety of Balkan staples with minimum fuss and maximum taste.

The burek is flaky and flavorful and I usually stick to cheese or spinach, but they also have meat, cabbage, and potato slices. I brought two friends along who’d never tried Balkan cuisine and they were instantly in love with the cevapi, which was grilled to perfection and complemented perfectly with raw onions, ajvar, kajmak, and develops warm bread.

We also really enjoyed the pausili, which had a really delicious smoky flavor; this was my favorite dish and one I will definitely go out of my way for on cold days. We also tried the sudzukice, which I think I actually preferred over the cevapi because I found the thin beef sausages to be a bit more moist and flavorful.

After placing the order Maria actually called to help me to make recommendations to improve our selection and quantities based on the number of people we were hosting. I really appreciated this level of service. Delivery was on time and set up was great. And most importantly the food was fresh, healthy and delicious. Our staff kept commenting on how much they enjoyed it and inquired where I had ordered from. I know we’ll be placing future orders soon! Highly recommend them for your catering needs also!“

“Came here on Valentine's day -- and while maybe this wasn't the right spot for that night -- we had a great time.

Staff really made us feel at home. And this place feels like it is by the locals, for the locals. Very Greek family vibe.

Food was absolutely the star. I had chicken souvlaki which was tender and flavorful. My guest loved her food, and our grilled octopus starter was delightful. Lemon potatoes were phenomenal. Music starts late but was very nice and authentic. Excellent Greek white wine recommended by our waiter.

“I’m eating their falafel wrap over 3hrs later and it is still yummy. They pack it with flavorful fillings and sauces. My favorite is the eggplant spread. Plenty of seating there and throughout the bldg. It’s a bit out of the way for me, but it’s great for the LaGuardia community.

They do get slammed during peak lunch hours, but I’ve always received courteous service despite the wait.
