“We had the prime rib dinner which was fantastic. My only concern was the group of people that sat behind us was obnoxiously loud and were using foul language and none of the staff confronted them of lowering their voices making our dining unenjoyable.“

“Thank goodness for the internet! Or else we wouldn’t have known about this gem. It was lunchtime and the Foster Harbor Inn was only 2.4 miles away. Tucked in off the main road. Obviously know to the local clientele. Our waitress was very upbeat and personable. Generous portions on the shrimp and fried fish combos AND a hamburger that was actually prepared to MEDIUM! Three thumbs up !“

“I had a mixed experience at Windows on the Bay. The biggest highlight is definitely the view, it's absolutely stunning. .
We had a bit of a delay when they couldn't find our dinner reservation on their list but the staff ended up handling it well and found us a great outdoor table. The service throughout the evening was friendly and pleasant, although it was very slow. Since it was a busy holiday, we understood and were happy to be patient.

Unfortunately, dinner itself was just okay. My meal was average, the fish was a bit overcooked and dry. The biggest disappointment was the music. There was a DJ when we arrived but they ended the music much earlier than expected, and once it stopped, the energy completely disappeared. It felt like the evening lost its momentum. However sitting outside overlooking the bay as the fireworks began over Boldt Castle on the Fourth of July ended up making for a perfect evening.

Breakfast the next morning was a completely different experience. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, with beautiful views of the boats passing by on the bay. The food and atmosphere were much more enjoyable and made for a wonderful start to the day.“

“Nice place, accommodating of families. That had indoor seating with window A/C. The food was good and at the price point I would expect in a tourist town during the summer. I found the service to be good. I recommend them and would definitely go back.“

“The old Hampstead restaurant in Alexandria Bay was superb. The staff is most friendly, and great address immediately. We ordered the lobster with spinach, lobster Florentine I believe, and it was absolutely delicious. We substituted rice for mashed potatoes. It came with a salad. We ordered bread and had a delightful dinner. We did sit outside and it was a lovely evening. When I visit Alexandria Bay again, it will definitely be on my list of best restaurants to revisit.“

“They have yummy ice cream and every kind of candy you can think of. They are usually very busy. We only went there once this trip. Most trips there are daily visits. This trip we stopped at a different ice cream shop once or twice! Is it any wonder that I bring some extra pounds back home with me?🍨🍦“

“😊I have eaten here many times, especially summer and deep into fall. We bring family. We bring friends from out of state. We find the menu consistently creative, lots of choices, many things to like. Hard to pick a favorite, but like fish tacos and paninis, plus apps. Some of the desserts can be just awesome. I'll be there again at least several times this summer. Always find the people nice and welcoming. I have had lunch (mostly) and dinner, and even met for business of a non-profit there. It is a favorite place on the river.“
