“Their turmeric bun is insanely good. Was lucky enough to catch it right as it was fresh out of the oven and waiting to be glazed. Almost doubled back for another one it was so good (self restraint won).Delicate, flaky, caramelized crust. Fluffy, light, moist pull-apart center. I usually find glazed pastries too sweet, but this one was perfect - just sweet enough to hit the spot but not too sweet that it feels heavy. The balance of flavors is just right. Just a hint of turmeric that isn't at all overpowering.“
“I LOVE this cafe!! Such a gem right by Astoria park. My husband and I came across Sunshine Cafe one night and we are so glad we did. The food is so fresh and absolutely delicious. They also have the best lentil soup and iced teas! Last, the owner is the sweetest person!! Highly recommend this spot!“
“Iconic Williamsburg brunch with a divine menu. The pancakes were deliciously fluffy study syrup that didn't overpower. Sandwiches looked great too. Quality of food and unbeatable location are the highlights of this venue for me. Excellent coffee.“
“Hidden gem! I always see how packed the restaurant is at all times of the day and decided to try it out. The lattes we had were delicious! And the brunch special was superb! The chickpea curry had the perfect amount of spice. The seating area is rather small, so come in early for a seat. We had to sit at the shared seating couch - which is laptop free! I will becoming here again to explore the menu. They also offer some table top games to play while you enjoy your meal“
“Pastries by Anne is one of our favorite shops in the neighborhood. You can count on Anne to always greet you with a smile and to have unique and inventive flavors available. I’m a huge fan of both the Thai iced tea cake and the Triple C. She’s also made cakes for our celebrations, which our guests devoured. We are so lucky to live close to such an incredible pastry shop and Anne herself is the absolute best!“
“Amazing breakfast sandwich. Chicken sausage was so good and flavorful, spicy mayo was perfect. Perfectly toasted brioche was the cherry on top. They have a full menu and specials like corn bread french toast and shrimp and grits, will try that next time. Cappuccino was really good. Few seats inside, handful of tables outside. Food was made to order and unexpectedly very quickly. We left and almost came back to get something to go for lunch. Staff went above and beyond to welcome us in... definitely recommend“
“fantastic spot!!!! as a mexican is always a pleasure to find a legit mex place! with great food and kind people! we went for dinner, beto and the crew were amazing! we had flautas, tetela, quesadilla and a sope and everything was amazing!!! we also had a concha as a dessert and drinks and mezcal, we will be back for brunch! ?❤️? thanks crew for taking us to our georgeous ??“
“Cute Black Owned Vegan restaurant right off Nostrand. I love coming here every time I visit Brooklyn. The music is always on the right playlist, the aesthetics give an inviting atmosphere to want to stay for longer, & the food completes the mission of good vibes. I love their vinyl/retail area, very loungy. They have a cute little bar area as well. I recommend the Bake & Saltfish, French Toast, Lobster Roll, & The Fish Cakes. Each dish is unique in its own way and full of flavor. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. They get pretty busy in the evening so make sure you get a reservation.Vegetarian options: All vegan menu“
“The food was beautifully presented & fresh, service excellent but ambiance (?). The place is very popular and noisy, so plan to go when it's NOT breakfast - brunch time it you want more than a light conversation with short sentences.“
“Wow! This is a little hidden gem. This is probably the best coffee I've ever had in NYC. Doesn't taste burnt at all like most other places and it has a nutty aftertaste. Really delicious - doesn't even need syrup flavors. The chocolate chip cookie is divine and tastes homemade! I'm so happy I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall. It's tiny inside but there are a few tables / stool seats by the window. It's a great spot to bring a book and people watch. They have a bunch of other pastries that look delicious as well and I'm excited to try them all! This spot is just steps from the L train at Grand St. Don't miss it! Super friendly service, quick, and delicious. What else could you need?“
“Fantastic food and phenomenal service! It felt so cozy in there, like you weren’t in the hustle and bustle of New York City! We had a meat & cheese platter, two salads and a cacio e pepe and everything was incredible! And it was all very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back - and can’t wait to tell friends and family about this gem! 10000/10 recommend“
“The Charlotte Cafe is my favorite coffee shop in NYC! It’s my neighborhood hang where I’ll go to work, study, or catch up with friends. The coffee is consistently amazing, the food is delicious, and the baristas are exceedingly friendly!“
“I visited Hibiscus Cafe less than an hour before closing on a Sunday evening. The café was really busy, and everyone (including myself) was ordering complicated drinks. A few folks ordered things that required ingredients that were out, and something like that could throw anyone off their game at the end of their shift. However, the woman working was handling everything so smoothly and efficiently, and she was just plain awesome. My matcha latte was also delicious! I can’t wait to go back!“
“Mom and I visited Guria for the first time on a Saturday, late afternoon. The young man at the counter assured us he would answer any questions. We sat down in this bright, clean cafe and had some delicious Borscht, which Mom described as "tangy". There was a lady in the kitchen kneading dough and bringing out freshly baked Georgian breads. We had wonderful mushroom bread fresh from the oven! Mom had a large cup of foaming coffee which looked and smelled terrific, and we shared a piece of Georgian baklava which, unlike Greek baklava, has thick layers of pastry and is filled with walnuts and raisins--loved it! I will absolutely return to try Guria's "batons" of shoti (amazingly chewy Georgian bread) and the Lobiani (Georgian red bean bread). Dumplings can be ordered in advance. There were several varieties of soup and breads available for take-out. Thanks to the baklava, I was able to resist the tempting chocolate chip cookies displayed under a glass dome. I tremendously appreciated the patience and kindness of the young man who answered my questions and served us with a smile. I am so impressed with the hard-working lady, tirelessly baking in the kitchen. Thanks, Guria, for a lovely lunch!“
“Pleasant cafe is amazing!!! The best Macchiato!!! The best Burek… It’s Dukagjini!!!! A must try in the Steinway/Ditmars area. This a gem in our neighborhood. Such a cute spot to hang out for coffee or later in the evening for drinks. The decor is very chic and well put together. Go and check it out!!“
“WINNER IS A WINNER. Wow guys, this place deserves more love! Only 18 reviews (?!) (at the time I'm writing this) shocking. Are the sandwiches teetering on $20? Yes. Are they worth it? 100%! Firstly, the sandwich is HUGE. I definitely could only eat half so if you want to come and split a sammy with someone that's a smart way to approach this menu. I ordered the midnight club (a somewhat different take on a cubano sandwich) fried pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mojo dojonnase and pickled jalapeños on a hoagie. I also opted to try one of their sauces, the ramp ranch as well as a hibiscus Arnold Palmer. So, let's break this sandwich down: - the hoagie itself is a beautiful, fresh piece of bread. Perfectly toasted and crispy exterior but fluffy, buttery and bouncey middle. They also throw a glaze on the top that's adds such a nice touch to the bread. - fried pork: think of a dark and deep fried mozzarella stick but without the cheese. This pork is tender and full of flavor. I absolutely love the breaded coating on this fry. It's crispy and crumbly and so so good. - love the ham & Swiss classic combo. The portions of everything it perfect for almost every bite - the dijonnase sauce on the bottom soaks into the bread just enough and really pairs well with all the other toppings - the pickled jalapeños are also a perfect addition of acidity and pop of spice The sauce is expensive at $5 but I'm so glad I got it. It was a special ranch and I'm happy that they basically provide a bowl of it for the price I also really liked my hibiscus Arnold Palmer. Extremely refreshing and a nice light lunch drink option. Just sweet enough. The space itself is gorgeous. I was not sure what to expect based on the minimal pics online but they have some bar/ counter seating at the front and a decent sized dining section in the back completel with sky lights and a shuffleboard (I think that's what it's called?) for night use I believe. I think they shift from cafe into a bar at night. As another review mentioned, you order at the front counter and the provide you with a table number and you can sit down and eat. The bartender was very helpful with me choosing my sandwich and was super friendly. One of the staff also saw that I wasn't able to finish the second half of my sandwich and came and brought me a box and I didn't even have to ask. This truly is a neighborhood gem and I will absolutely be back to try more items on their menu. 4.8/5“
“AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The food was absolutely amazing. The flavors, customer service, presentation and overall feel of this place left such a great impact on my friends and I. I literally tried it on Wednesday, and came back with a friend the very next day. My order: Afro Burrito with Chicken; Peanut Stew served over jasmine rice and hot sauce“
“I've been loving La Sandwicherie since their original food cart operation by McCarren Park. So glad they opened an official shop! The menu is well curated, all ingredients are quality, sandwiches are made to order and everything I’ve ever had here tastes fresh and delicious.“
“This place is adorbs! They welcomed both me and fiancé in and they were polite and respectful. They had great service and always had a smile on their face. The atmosphere was happy and relaxing. The ambiance had cute bulbs with lit up words inside. It’s well spaced out and I hope they will stay around forever. Great for cute dates! They have bubble tea and refreshers too :)“
“This is some of the best food of any kind l've had in my 45 years living in NYC. Honestly, it's amazing, chef Jose is delightful and his dishes are so nuanced and delicious. Octopus tostados are heavenly, I have no idea what all it consist of but they are delicious. There are three, I can't eat more than two but the last is always enjoyed by someone else at the table. Burrito are a staple for my lunch/dinner... so fresh and comforting. AND I'm not really a fan of most Mexican food but this is on a whole other level. I just finished a salad of shrimp, avocado, mango, cherry tomato, with paper thin fennel shredded on top. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all but ever so slightly firm and succulent. I live in Manhattan and there isn't anything near me as delicious and fresh. It’s really a special place.“
“I’ve been here two times and it is my new favorite cafe. Both times I got the tetela de nopales. I’m excited to try everything on the menu, but I liked it so much I couldn’t resist getting it again! Cafe de olla is delicious and their espresso is nice. The staff is the best, the music is great. Coming here puts me in a good mood. Cant recommend more“
“Boris & Horton is an absolute gift to our day every time we visit—a true gem and an easy favorite. Since opening in Williamsburg, the Eloise latte and a treat for my pup have become staples of our little morning routine. The staff’s warm welcome and genuine kindness contribute to a community that is inclusive and filled with pure joy. Thoughtful and creative, Boris & Horton is truly something special. Grateful for the friends and fun memories made over workdays spent here.“
“OMG, it was delicious! The food was made in heaven and served to us by really nice staff, they were very helpful and friendly! This place deserves 5 stars in everything! Definitely will come back!I also liked the fact that they A LOT of healthier options. Fantastic!“
“Fabulous! You could spend so much money in here and never feel unhappy about it. Totally vegan it's actually quite large with lots of places to sit and just plants everywhere. if I had more money, I would buy myself every single plant and item they have here. lovely food, lovely staff, highly recommend! please support your neighborhood, vegan place.“
“The waffle was freshly baked, loved the cinnamon take on the batter too. The pistachio gelato was delicious, very natural and not overly sugary. Such an unexpected find in that neighborhood. Definitely worth to check it out!Parking: Parking will be challenging but there are meters available.“
“I've gone here well over 50 times, and their coffee and espresso drinks are so delicious. To pair with their rich coffee tastes, they have fresh soft pastries too and grab-n-gos like overnight oats. They have many different milks and flavors and a point rewards system. My favorite cafe!“
“Went to Pata Cafe for lunch in Elmhurst, Queens, NY. Looking for authentic Thai? You'll find dishes here that are hard to find in the ??. NY Times and Michelin recommended for casual authentic Thai fare.Had Thai Lychee tea and Yum Woon Sen. Sweet and complex flavor for the tea. Spicy, tangy, earthy, and herby flavors for the dish. Too full for dessert! The wife had the beef soup.Only seats 12 people max. Cash or Venmo only. Lots of free street parking on a Saturday. Can't wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: Most dishes dairy freeParking: Found parking right in front immediately on a Saturday for lunch“
“Such a lovely space with cool specialty drinks. I got the taro latte and it was a great treat for someone who can’t have caffeine and my husband got the espresso and tonic water drink, so refreshing for warm days. Their croissant is yummy too! Love the music and vibe!“
“This review was long overdue. I’ve been coming here for years even though I don’t live nearby. Seitan’s helper has the best vegan sandwiches in NYC. I travel to the city specifically for seitan’s helper, it is worth the two hour trip plus traffic. Everything on the menu is amazing. I recommend EVERYTHING! Every time I make the trip, I make sure to stock up. i usually get the triple threat which is one of my favorites. If you’re unsure what to get an If you’re unsure what to get i recommend building your own sandwich. All the seitan, breads , sauce's and etc are all made from scratch. You can tell a lot of love goes into what they do. Not only is their food amazing but so is their customer service. They are so welcoming and accommodating. I wanted to purchase something for my toddler daughter to eat so I asked if they had a kids menu. They don't have a kids menu but without hesitation made a grilled cheese just for my daughter. I would eat here everyday if I could.Vegetarian options: Menu is veganDietary restrictions: Vegan“
“We had a Happy Hour and and everything was great - Shamim H was our server and he was excellent. Very helpful and funnyETA: came back for happy hour next day and our bartenders Amanda and Chris were awesome as well! Had the labneh tartine and it was delicious!Save room for dessert, get the chocolate fondant ?“
“I love love love this place and order burritos frequently from here as a weekend treat. However, my order is frequently wrong. I would definitely check your burrito before taking it away! I am lactose intolerant and get the veggie burrito with vegan cheese and maybe 25% of the time they give me a chorizo burrito with regular cheese. Today is one of those days ???. I should have checked! I would say that this place would be a nightmare if you have life threatening dietary restrictions.“
“I don't ever really write reviews, but after today's visit I wanted to share. I have been going to Cafe Turkey since they first opened, the food is very yummy, fresh, the service is amazing. Today I went there at 9PM, after a long day at work. They were getting ready to close, no one was there but they opened the back area for me to have dinner, turned on the heat, let me take my time to eat didn't rush me, AG was very welcoming and so kind to check if I needed anything and let me stay after they close for the day. It felt like a family not a just business. Thank you AG for making my night feeling so welcome at my local favorite restaurant in Astoria.“
“I visited the establishment a week ago, came late and couldn’t enjoy my favorite Adjarian khachapuri, we were offered instead just warmed khachapuri, which was no worse than what I wanted. BUT I was disappointed by the fact that if you come an hour before closing, the only thing you can enjoy are leftovers and salads..In general, these are the things that I can say about salads. The salads tasted very disgusting (the ones I ordered), the usual vegetable salad was cut into huge cubes of bell peppers and cucumbers, and there weren’t any other ingredients; further, the taste of this salad was like metal, with the smell of old oil and the smell of stale onions, I was very amazed by this and I do not recommend eating their fresh salad in the evening if you are a harmful person like me. Next, I took mushroom salad, it tasted no worse than fresh salad; the taste of the salad was reminiscent of coconut, oddly enough, and also the taste of greasy oil, as if the mushrooms were fried in a ton of oil and there was no particular hurry to remove them from the stove after frying; I don’t recommend the mushroom salad. And so, I gave it four stars because it was nice and quiet, and the guys were quite nice to us.“
“Parking: This Cafe is located in a residential area, so the parking is tough. There's only street parking available. This is more of a neighborhood place that people walk to, there's benches outside as well to sit and enjoy your purchases.“
“Really sweet nail shop. My manicure has lasted more than a week which is unheard of for a conventional manicure for me. Shop is very clean and cute. My only complaint was that the woman who did my nails gave zero massage and applied the color too fast and it bubbled up. Another person fixed it for me and it’s great!“
“A wonderful and wide selection of pastries, tarts, muffins and sweats. I assume the assortment changes regularly but don’t expect a huge variety within a genre. All very yummy and wonderful for sharing if your palette is adventurous. I understand their savory and egg dishes are wonderful but I stayed with the sweets and a perfectly prepared cappuccino. The owner and the staff were a delight, patient and helpful. If you are near Vanderbilt and Dean, do pop in!“
“We were in Queens and asked a friend who lived in area for dinner recommendations. We are super happy he did. This place is great. All 4 of us loved our dishes and service. The place was packed but they keep it moving and everyone looks quite happy with their food. Some of the best pasta we’ve had in a long time. The mushroom pasta I had was on long thick cuts of homemade pasta cooked perfectly and the mushoom mixture was excellent and I really appreciated it cooked in white wine sauce instead of heavy cream you usually get. My wife ordered something not on the menu for her and my daughter. Home made spaghetti with vodka sauce and grilled shrimp and waiter offered meatballs and spaghetti for my daughter. They loved it. My son had the lasagna and finished every morsel. I don’t leave too many reviews but this place deserves it 100%. Thank you.“
“Whenever I'm looking for a place to meet with a friend or to treat myself with a fresh cup of coffee and delicious food – "Black milk coffee and Crepe" is the place!I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood and I have to admit they stole my heart! Every visit feels special: from kind staff and welcoming atmosphere to creative drinks and outstanding food. The owners also work here, so you can be assured you will get the best treatment!I've tried their sour, as well as sweet, crepes and I loved the variety of them. My favorites are smoked salmon and prosciutto crepes. Always freshly made and mouthwatering! They have a good choice of baked goods and desserts so you'll definitely find something to your liking. I've tried many carrot cakes in my life and can definitely say their cake is the best! Moist and moderately sweet. The coffee is so good, I never leave without a bag to enjoy it at home. The atmosphere is uplifting yet, invites you to get lost in your thoughts. I am looking forward to the warmer days when I can relax in their cozy backyard and enjoy my most favorite breakfast or lunch.“
“Went around Monday afternoon, was in the mood for something for a quick bite. When you walk in there is always a warm and cheerful welcome. Grace is always so kind and patient to customers who go in, was unsure of what to get yet she was so kind to explain the items the café provided. Decided to buy a bacon and cheese egg sandwich, K-corn dog, and Croffles. She was so kind explaining each ingredient and it’s uniqueness. 10/10 would come again!!“
“Just moved to the area and Charlotte Cafe was an incredible surprise. An authentic italian experience, with cornettos (croissants) the same as the one you would get in Bologna. The staff is very friendly and professional. It would be amazing if they added vegan cornettos as well.“
“Lips Cafe is our go to spot in District 43! Great place for networking, working from home, and the drinks are second to none. We love Lips! Thank you for being such a key stakeholder our community and partner to Assembly Member Brian Cunningham“
“I usually don't drink coffee but I heard this place is quite famous so I stopped by. Nice atmosphere, great flavourful coffee. I liked how their roof had huge window so all the sunshine is coming through the seating area. For some reason this place is famous among Koreans.“
“Have frequented this cafe on numerous occasions:(1) day to day coffee , seasonal lattes and pastries — fresh selection (try the pineapple bun and egg tart), no frills prompt and friendly service with fast WiFi and comfortable seating for remote working(2) jazz night - homey ambiance featuring local musicians with a fun vibe(3) wine / sake tasting - finely curated selection of affordable and approachable organic wines and interesting sake from different Japanese prefecturesExcellent and unique addition to the neighborhood.“
“The only proper Italian coffee in Harlem, or for that matter most of NYC. Sit down and savour a finely made caffeinated beverage in a nice ceramic cup! They also have spectacularly great house-made pasta, and delicious pastry. Great vibe, staff, and hang.“
“This is such a nice little hidden gem, it offers some amazing deserts and pastries. Their cakes are too die for. I personally have tried a few of their vegan & gluten free cakes which weee definitely something new, but were great. The service is always 10/10 very helpful and informative, it's a cute little place to hide away from all the commotion of NYC and enjoy a little delight.“

“The drip they had was columbian-blend from coffee project, hence very dark-chocolately. The matcha latte was very unique — it had a seaweed-like flavor which I’ve never experienced with other matcha powders. I was impressed by the decor, though the space itself is tight.“
“I was there on an unplanned visit but to my surprise this place had a very good romantic vibe. Unique food options that tasted really good and they were served in a really adequate position size! I would totally recommend this place for a chill dinner or if you want to try something new! I can't wait to go back for dinner again!“
“Our group headed into NYC for our usual Christmas visit and happened upon Tartinery Cafe in Olympic Tower when we were looking for a place to sit after Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and before the Christmas Show started. What a find! We all had hot chocolate and avocado toast with a pouched egg. The hot chocolate was made and did not come from a "machine", the avocado was not from a package and was very good. We were very happy with our service as well - David could not have been more accommodating, friendly and helpful. We chose table service and he was very attentive and even though it was quite busy, we NEVER felt ignored at all. I suggest Tartinery Cafe at Olympic Tower if you are looking for a quick snack and nice atmosphere. We were very happy and satisfied with our choices and service and would happily go back next time we are in the area! Thank you David for a great experience and great conversation!“
“Manny the owner/cook has been here for a long time and I’ve been getting breakfast and lunch here for over 10 years. Well-made food at excellent prices. Place is a bit cramped and paper plates and plastic tableware but saves money not having to pay for a dishwasher, and that savings gets passed to the customer. Also literally steps from the subway entrance for extra convenience.“
