“This bar is my favorite neighborhood spot! I come here every other week to chill and enjoy great drinks.
The cold brew martini is my go-to. The bartender always nails it, and the quality never changes.
They also serve Spanish and Japanese food, and I’ve got tons of favorites: grilled salmon with cream sauce, fried calamari, takoyaki, seafood spaghetti, gyu don beef, and more.
The staff are always friendly, and the prices are super reasonable. Highly recommend!!“

“This was another happy discovery, and a nice place to stop in for old-fashioned Spanish comfort food. My favorite dish from here is the garlic chicken with rice and beans, as well as the fresh juices. One can make a dish off of the snack foods and smaller dishes by themselves; the standard rice platter that came with the aforementioned chicken lasted me for a few days, there was so much. They also have a wide variety of breakfast dishes and don't mind customizing them as needed.“

“When you walk into this restaurant, the smells is going to immediately draw you in. It was literally like you traveled to dr and had the privledge to taste abuelas cooking. Moddo rice with beef stew and chicharones for a total of $20 flat($6 for the chichos and the rest you can do the math). The tin plate they use is not that big but they stuff thee eff out of that tin plate!😂 Everything was legendary and thankfully I did not have any complaints. Keep being Great yall.“

“A Home Run of flavor I just devoured at Lugo's Restaurant & Lounge, and I'm still reeling from the culinary hat trick. This dish is the MVP of my food here - succulent shrimp, indulgent lobster, and tender skirt steak join forces to create a flavor trifecta that will leave you screaming 'Triple Crown!'
The shrimp was so juicy, it practically swam onto my fork. The lobster? Butter-tender and begging to be devoured. And don't even get me started on the skirt steak - cooked to perfection and practically singing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' with every bite.
Lugo's Triple Play is a grand slam of flavors, a culinary World Series champion. If you haven't tried it yet, drop everything and get to Lugo's - your taste buds will thank you. Five stars, ten stars, a million stars - this dish is the real MVP."“

“It's a really good place for a fast meal, the rice and beans are to kill for. However was little disappointed the other day, because one of the reasons I like this place was for the prices. Was shocked how much it cost me the other day. But at the end of the day, the food is “

“Best Breakfast & Brunch Spot in NYC — Period. When you factor in price, flavor, and quality. There’s simply no other spot that beats it.
What makes this place unique is that it’s not your typical all-American brunch, which for me can sometimes be on the bland side. Here, you’re getting a true Dominican-American breakfast and brunch experience — sazon, flavor, and soul in every bite. If you enjoy savoring your food, this is a match made in heaven.
Their mangú is smooth, creamy, and comforting — not the stiff, heavy version you often get elsewhere. I ordered the tres golpe and my girlfriend had the dos golpe with pechurrinas (Dominican chicken tenders). The chicken was crisp to perfection, seasoned beautifully, and mixing it with the mangú is next-level. To finish, I ordered a papaya milkshake that was amazing — rich, refreshing, and the perfect balance.
The flavor here is what sets them apart. If you’re Latino, or if you just love food with seasoning and depth, this is the spot. Too many brunch places in the city are bland — here, every bite has sabor.
On top of that, the service is excellent. Our server Jeanette was attentive, funny, and welcoming — exactly the kind of energy you want when you’re hungry.
And let’s talk about price. In 2025, when everything feels overpriced, this spot is a blessing. Most dishes are $5–$10, nothing over $25, and the quality is unmatched even compared to restaurants charging triple. You get your money’s worth every time.
The only downside is they’re not open for dinner — but for breakfast and brunch, Cafeteria Brooklyn is unbeatable. If you want food that’s flavorful, affordable, and satisfying, this is where you need to be. I’ll definitely be back.“
“I've had consistent great quality food from this establishment every time I've visited. Staff is friendly, greets you immediately, and always taking their time to make sure your order is taken correctly. The women here are stunning as well?... they never skimp on their portions, and the quality of the food is always on point. I like the fact that the food is on display, and you can see the food being prepared right in front of you. The atmosphere is very clean, very inviting and has a sense of a home feeling in the sitting area. Did i mention the women are stunning?. Unfortunately i haven't gotten any pics yet, but my next visit I'll make sure to ask if i can take some first, (Brooklyn people just dont like you taking pics of them)...lol but I'd highly recomend you, or the whole family visiting this restaurant for a great experience, and some great food... ohh and did i forget to mention the women here are stunning!!! Thank you El Paraso for continuing your quality service to the community!!! People go here, not there one across the street!!!!“

“Food always made fresh and tasteful. Dishes feel and taste, as if someone cared about what they're sending out. The staff respected me and treated me like family, every time I dropped by. I recommend the fish, the lamb and chicken over rice and whatever you order, make sure you add their famous falafel . You'll love how that present the falafel, on your dish ?
Vegetarian options: I tried the veggie burger. Seeing how I'm not a vegetarian and enjoyed it, that should tell you how good it was.“

“A small and cozy restaurant to find Ecuadorian food with good portions. They have lunch specials which are offered in buffet style, and vary in options over the days of the week. It helps to speak some Spanish to communicate better. It is also important to bring cash, as it is the only accepted payment method.“

“Always busy, clean. Good prices. I have noticed overtime Walmart breads are salty/high in sodium. Whenever I eat I feel so very thirsty. I don't get that feeling at eating bread from elsewhere. Anyways I go there mostly for car oil and Gatorade.“

“Great little local restaurant. Was staying in Brooklyn for a bit and there’s nothing like these type of spots. Great home cooked type food! Came here twice, once for some quick empanadas for breakfast and the other for lunch. Rotisserie chicken, rice, beans and vegetables for $20(USD). Great price, great portion, great food & great people.“

“I've eaten here about 3 times a week for an entire year.
The pernil, the chicken, the stewed steak, the meatballs. You cant go wrong with any of these.
This is a fast food type of spot, basic service.
But who cares the food is excellent.
Oh insider tip, on Fridays they make specials you can only get that day. I have no idea what I've eaten but it was so amazing.“

“Great place, cool folk and good food. I gave food a 4 star only because i forgot to mention to have my skirt steak cooked medium rare. THOUGH that is the standard way to cook skirt steak due to the low fat and high lean content. It's too chewy when it is well done and loses flavor. Otherwise amazing place. I still enjoyed my food“

“I went here for the first time recently to try their Birria tacos and I was not disappointed at all. They’re the perfect balance of savory, spicy, and cheesy. I also saw they had Mac and cheese so I tried a little cup of it (pictured) and the Mac and cheese was perfect to go along with it. The sauce wasn’t too thick or liquidy. Would 10/10 recommend this place to a friend, and would 20/10 come here after my undergrad is finished up.“

“If you are looking for a place to have a great breakfast, look no further. Though primarily a Dominican style restaurant, they have a variety of choices that cater to multiple ethnic groups and tastes. Their breakfast menu is the stand out for me. The oatmeal is done perfectly and everything is fresh. The people working there are friendly and helpful. It’s my go to spot and you should definitely try it for yourself. The look of the place leaves a little to be desired since it’s a little on the plain side, but the place is clean and that trumps any aesthetic concern.“

“A Salvadoran food place... very clean and the food is very delicious. Fried yucca with chicharrones I recommend it 100%. Pupusas... the sea and land tray my favorite. The food is delicious. It is a place where you can enjoy with family and children and there is a secluded place where they can play pool, super cool for men and they also have a bar. In case you go alone or alone. Nice very nice place
Parking: On the day of an event it is difficult to find but there is parking on the side and in front of the restaurant
Kid-friendliness: If children can go to eat. Sometimes I have taken my 2 children, ages 5 and 8. Obio we eat and we leave. Because then they get bored and want to run and I don't like to bother others who come to eat either.“

“For good spanish food on the go Jenny 2 restaurant is awesome and these are the reasons. The food is not salty at all very tasty. One can taste all other condiments, not overbearing well manged in taste.Their seafood doesn't taste fishy at all. Their price went up just like everything else in live but Jenny 2, the restaurant the food is worth every penny, awesome food made by Dominicans.
Kid-friendliness: The ladies and men who serve the food are very kind and pleasant, and they don't take a year to serve one.“

“Hangs down. This is one of the best Spanish food restaurants in the neighborhood. The place looks like a hole in the wall, but don't sleep on the rotisserie chicken with the tostones with the garlic source. It will have u thinking next time I'll get the whole chicken. The rice and beans complimented. Let's get back to the hole-in-the-wall part, this place has been here for more than twenty years. Don't let that fool you or stop you. Four places have popped up around this place. And they all suck. Sorry. Great atmosphere, but shitty food. This place fire.“

“There is no bakery that rivals the La Gitana franchise in my opinion. Honestly, even when I moved to another state I tried to find another one and it doesn't compare. Unfortunately, Pan Ugo was a good competitor until 2015-2016 and something changed in the almoahabanas recipe that hasn't tasted the same since then. But La Gitana is always consistent with quality and consistency of affection also given by all its employees. Thank you always!“

“The food is acceptable but what I liked the most was the sweet plantains that I bought for my whole family. I have given it many chances and I kept buying it but it doesn't improve. It tastes horrible. The bananas are sometimes semi-green, not sweet at all, without any flavor. and they make the pieces smaller and at $5 I wouldn't mind the price as long as it was delicious but it isn't like that I hope they fix it“

“Great spot, solid basic food, no frills, fast service. One of the few places you can eat decently without getting a ton of plastic (they serve food on plates with metal utensils). And they don't raise their prices every few months like Claudette's, Super Burrito, the bagel place on 96th, everywhere on the boardwalk, etc.“

“We were supposed to eat at another restaurant, Anny, but when we got there, they informed us that they would only accept cash. Yet there was no ATM. We started walking on 116th, looking for an ATM. Instead, we found this place to eat. It's a buffet style place with only one booth style table. The best thing was that the food was good and the price was right.“
