“The food is good, even slightly creative. It's a pretty diverse menu, so there's something for everyone. I have two issues, one is a constant: they make a bad drink, I know things are expensive right now, but make me a good non metered drink, it's not like you're not charging me a lot for it. The other was hopefully a one off, the waiter didn't speak English well and my friend asked him a question which he said yes to and when he was served it was completely different, when my friend was like "what's up" the guy mumbled and politely shrugged. That being said I do like this place.“

“One of the best experiences I had in a while, coming back to Connecticut after 6 years. Very friendly staff people were incredible. Staff stayed late even after they were closed. We were treated very well. We’re welcome to very well. Food was amazing.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Freddy's Restaurant, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The retro-style atmosphere immediately caught my attention upon entering the restaurant. The owners, Matt and Christina, have truly created a unique and inviting ambiance. To start off our evening, my wife and I decided to indulge in some delicious cocktails. She opted for the spicy martini, which packed a flavorful punch, while I enjoyed a classic old-fashioned that was expertly crafted. For appetizers, I couldn't resist trying the deviled eggs, and they were absolutely divine. The creamy filling and perfectly seasoned eggs left me wanting more. My wife decided to go for the French onion soup, and it was nothing short of amazing. The rich flavors and melted cheese on top created a perfect harmony of tastes.Moving on to the main course, I decided to try their burger, but without the bun. The patty was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. But what really took it to another level was the sweet bacon jam topping. It added a delightful twist to the classic burger and left me speechless. My wife opted for the French onion short ribs, and I must say, it was a game-changer. The tenderness of the meat combined with the unique flavors of the French onion sauce created a taste sensation like nothing we had ever experienced before.Overall, Freddy's Restaurant is a must-visit for any food lover. The culinary skills of Chef Matt are truly exceptional, and the attention to detail in every dish is evident. I wish I could give this place 10 stars because it deserves every bit of praise. Don't miss out on the opportunity to dine at Freddy's Restaurant and indulge in a culinary journey that will leave your taste buds begging for more.“

“I just stopped for lunch. Not from the area and never heard of this place. I work construction all over Connecticut. We were working right down the street. Being pressed for time I decided to stop. I ordered a burger and fries to go. Within 10 minutes I was walking out the door. Food in hand. And I have to say for the same price as a meal deal from McDonald’s I had one of if not the BEST burger ever!! This place is awesome!! I will be back!“

“New restaurant very good food, staff was very polite , for my first time I’ll give 5 stars !“
“Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“

“Many tend to flock to the village of Bayville for its restaurants and bars on the water and beautiful sunsets. Let me give you a proper suggestion: eat here, have a drink or two and then enjoy another drink and the sound view elsewhere. The diversity of the menu and the quality of the food with its unique taste cannot be beat by any place in this town by far. The drinks are great as well. Despite its location away from the water, it is typically packed especially on weekends so have patience when visiting. From my own observation it seems to be mostly local regular customers, who probably have a laugh at those visiting the ‘tourist’ spots for dinner expecting a great meal. As someone who has visited this town often and tried much of what there is to offer, this is what I would call Bayville’s best - grandma’s cooking, if you will. Give them a try.“

“Arriving at 6:00 on a Saturday evening without reservations, my companion and I were delighted to be seated at a small booth in the bar area. Great seating, as it was comfortable and felt private. We each enjoyed a special cocktail, and appetizers of delicious cauliflower and truffle pizza and popcorn shrimp (complete with tiny crumbles of popcorn!) We then really enjoyed the chicken pot pie and cucumber and broccoli entre salad. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. Very fine experience. Look forward to returning soon.“

“Consistently great food, but the reason I’m writing a review is because the Friday day shift bartender is truly amazing. I didn’t catch her name but she is worth writing a 5 star review. She’s pleasant, sweet, and provides such great service. I haven’t had such a lovely experience in at least 5 years.“

“Joey's Sports Bar & Grill is the best bar in the New York area. Neighbors, friends, and the community get together, laugh, enjoy themselves, and listen to live music in this warm friendly atmosphere that feels like home. Food is great, drinks are great, and the service is great. Tuesday, Thursday night jams with bands and Fridays, Saturdays bands play. Joey’s has got it going on.“

“I enjoyed my visit today. I ordered the lunch special (meat, side, cornbread) and chose brisket and sweet potato. The brisket had great flavor, though next time I'll ask for leaner pieces as mine was fatty. Sweet potatoes were just right, not too sweet. Cornbread just ok. Things to know: 1. This place is tiny. There are just 4 bar seats and that's it. 2. Beverage options limited. Coke, sprite, water. 3. The service is amazingly friendly and personable. I didn't get the woman's name behind the counter but I'd go back there just to hang out with her. And it wasn't just me, she was that way with every customer including a 4 year old. You don't need to travel to come here but it's a good stop if you are nearby. Just 2 blocks off the Locust Valley train station.“

“I think this joint has reached landmark status. The food is great. The atmosphere is great. The people are great. If you visit, understand you may have to wait in line and you may not be immediately served, however that's what happens at popular places. It's worth it. Get a beer and chill, you'll get a table.“

“My family hates trying new places, but Moderne Barn impressed on all fronts. We came for brunch and had a mix of entrees. I had an absolutely delicious burger, with thick-cut bacon that was scrumptious. The space is lovely, with a light, airy feeling and a lot of charm. Parking is also very easy. The staff were attentive throughout and we didn’t have to wait long for our food despite the popularity of Sunday brunch.“

“Really nice neighborhood bar and grill.Place is close to local business and a few highways.Went there at lunchtime with three others. We all had some type of cheeseburger. Food was really good and we all enjoyed.Place is very clean and there is paper towels in the bathroom to dry your hands.Server was very nice but everything was very slow. Time to take an order was slow, the time the food came and getting the check.“

“Great experience at Kee Oyster House. I booked a reservation for 11 people for the same night and had to change the time and number which they easily accommodated. We had a table in the front and ordered oysters, tuna tartare, and scallops to begin with. They have a great list of cocktails and everyone enjoyed the gin and tequila specials. They also have a nice wine list both by the glass and by the bottle. I ordered the branzino and we ordered family style sides of potatoes, creamed spinach and broccoli - believe it or not the broccoli was a standout! Service was great, they kept water glasses filled and brought bread to the table. At the end of the meal we waited a bit for the check but otherwise we had an outstanding experience with service and food. Ambience is also great, with industrial lighting and chic but accessible decor. It was a bit loud but we were a big party so that probably contributed. Highly recommend!“

“Fast Service and seating even when the parking lot is full..(the sit and wait method will grab you a space fastest) the staff is always friendly. The Crab Cake Benedict is one of the best we've ever had and it's a hard dish to get right to the point it's the only place we have it now...the Crab is real Crab and a plentiful portion, the Apple French Toast is another favorite. We've eaten here many times and was always pleased with the portions and quality..They have good deserts too and also serve liquor (drinks). The Restaurant is Newer / Modern and the bathrooms are always clean. Definitely a place you'd enjoy eating at!“

“Our family has met here for years. Solid restaurant. Good food, kid friendly. Lots of areas for that group of 10+ without feeling you're on top of the table next to you. ,$16 for 8 wings seems a bit much, but I'm cheap. Keep on keepin' on!“

“The first Original Pancake House I visited was in Woodbridge NJ. And I left a raving review for them. “Was in town for a wedding and stopped here on a whim for a quick bite. Hands down the BEST avocado toast I've ever had!! Generous amounts of avocado, arugula, and feta, with just the right amount of zing from the lime juice. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I'm not even from the area but would make a trip back just for the avocado toast!“

“We got a food promo 1 appetizer with 2 entrees for $25 both taste good my fave was the one the had chicken and bacon, we sat at the bar and the girl there was very nice but there was this other guy the came here and there and every time he would come to the bar side it felt like he was being very pushy with us to get drinks, which it made me feel very uncomfortable and rush to finish my food but anyway aside from that everything was good.“

“I can’t say enough good things about Modern on the Rails for my daughter’s bridal shower brunch. I had great feedback on the venue and the delicious food. The staff was attentive and so helpful, my guest’s drinks as well as the buffet selections were constantly filled. The atmosphere is unique and so pretty with exposed brick and beautiful chandeliers. “I was originally supposed to eat heee as part of a Yelp Elite event but couldn't make it so I came here on my own to give it a try. The space is very big and open. It smelled great inside from the aromas of all the various ingredients that were cooking away. The staff was busy and friendly. I ordered the Dig owl and a side of the Brussels sprouts, my wife ordered a make your own bowl. The food was fresh and well cooked but the sprouts had way too much salt to the point it was overwhelming the flavor of the sprouts. Everything g else in my dish was better seasoned but even those items could have used slightly less salt too. I will definitely eat here again when I'm nearby. It was/is better than a lot of the "bowl shops" that I have been to, and I'm hoping that maybe they just slipped with the salt that day and I will give them another try.“
