“After hiking in Harriman State Park, our go-to spot for dinner is always Rhodes North Tavern, where we almost always indulge in their cheeseburgers. During our visit about a month ago, we stuck to our routine and ordered our cheeseburgers medium rare, accompanied by a side of French fries. To our satisfaction, our order was spot-on!The cheeseburgers were cooked impeccably, boasting a delightful pink and juicy interior. Admittedly, they leaned a tad towards medium, but hey, that's why we opt for medium rare, right? ;)However, the French fries didn't quite hit the mark. They had an odd taste, almost like they were sprinkled with something resembling sand. It was a bit disappointing considering how well the burgers were prepared.On a previous occasion, my husband decided to deviate from our cheeseburger tradition and opted for the ribeye steak, while I settled for the half-roasted chicken, as I wasn't feeling like having red meat that day. Unfortunately, neither of our dishes lived up to expectations. My husband's steak, despite being cooked to his liking, was disappointingly tough and sinewy. It was quite a challenge to eat. My chicken, ordered plain without any sauces, had an unusual yellow color and an off-putting taste. Initially, I suspected it might not have been fresh, but it's possible that it was due to some spices or seasoning that didn't agree with my palate. I managed to eat some of it, but it wasn't an enjoyable experience, so I ended up mainly sticking to the mashed potatoes.Despite the less-than-stellar experience with non-burger dishes, Rhodes North Tavern remains a top choice for burger enthusiasts. The service is consistently excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant. Overall, I still recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're in the mood for a delicious burger!“

“Nico is the top bartender in the area, super knowledgeable on all the beers and food and goes the extra mile for you. Furthermore, the GM Sal is a great guy who also knows all there is to know about local beers and the food at Shannon Rose. Overall a great spot for all types of drinks and food! 10/10“

“We got takeout tonight and everything was so good! Lobster egg roll appetizer, Grandma's stuffed pepper with angel hair pasta, burger of the day (Big Apple) and short ribs with side of potato gnocchi (instead of fries). Satisfying and plain old delish. Placed order over phone since some dietary issues and hostess was so polite and nice to deal with!“

“Allendale Bar and Grill did a fabulous job for my daughter’s party. From the wonderful service to the delicious food, everyone was raving about ABG! The party was in the Connelly Room, which had a private bar and bathroom as well. Perfect day! Thank you!“

“Plan B is Suffern's (and neighboring towns) local watering hole. The food is surprisingly awesome, and the drinks are always cold and delicious. Brandi, Kev, Tiff, Will know what the hell they're doing. And Carlos chefs it up with the best of them in the back. “We took a little break from dinner at Sutters but after reading a review about the new kitchen we decided to try it again. Wow! We were NOT disappointed! The burgers were so delicious. They were big, juicy, filling, cooked to perfection. You can add whatever you’d like to create the burger “your way”. Yum! Yum! Yum! Sutters will be back in our restaurant rotation. Way to go with the food! The people at Sutters is also what makes this place special! Great wait staff, always friendly faces. We laugh, we eat, we love it!“

“Yes. I can now confirm that the bar side of Jessie's is officially a dive bar. That's OK. I really like dive bars. Darkish, check. Slightly grimy, check. Cheap drinks and food, check. The only thing wrong was that the bartender was actually very friendly and attentive. Good spot to have a cold one if you are in the vicinity of Greenwood Lake. The deli side was pretty cool as well. Featuring a very nice selection of sandwiches. Everything from breakfast bagels to cheese steaks to classic deli and more. I had the roast beef panini which was much better than I expected. Well prepared and delicious. I will definitely put Jessie's on my go to list.“

“Take out tonight and it was fast and hot in quality take out containers (no plastic). Burgers cooked to order. Family all loved their meals and the seasoned fries. The God Father Sandwich is two meals. My husband loved it! Mom was happy to not be cooking!“
