“Tonight was a really good reminder that sometimes the little things mean the most. Lucas and I had one of our favorite mommy/son dinner dates at the new "The Pizzeria" in Yaphank. Since being diagnosed with celiac and deciding to go dairy free for my health, I've wondered if some of our favorite traditions would have to change. I knew they offered a gluten-free crust, but after I ordered Lucas's slices, I asked a few questions. Vinny, who was working behind the counter, was incredible. He told me he'd been with the company for three years and knew they had a dairy-free sauce. When I told him my favorite slice was the Aunt Danielle (vodka sauce, pepperoni, stracciatella, fresh basil, and hot honey), he smiled and said, "Let's make you a dairy-free version on a gluten-free pie." It was even better than I imagined. Every bite was amazing. But what meant the most wasn't just the pizza. It was realizing I don't have to give up one of my favorite traditions with my son to take care of my health. Thank you, Vinny, for taking the time to help and for making someone with celiac feel seen instead of like an inconvenience. Acts of kindness like that make a bigger difference than you probably realize.“

“I wasn’t planning on stopping at Sal Anthony’s Pizza. I was actually on an important mission involving a suspicious-looking earthworm and a neighbor’s flower bed. But then… I caught the smell.

As a rooster with impeccable taste and a strict “no bad pizza” policy, I strutted inside. One peck at the crust and I knew my day had changed forever. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with cheese so perfectly melted I briefly considered abandoning farm life to become a full-time pizza critic.

The staff behind the counter treated me with the respect any distinguished rooster deserves. Nobody questioned why I was reviewing the menu by standing on a chair and yelling.

By the time I left, I had forgotten all about the worm. That’s how good the pizza was.

“The owners are great. Very pleasant to deal with. I've been going there since they bought it about 22 yrs ago. Their dinners are very good, you can't go wrong with the penne ala vodka and a side of sausage. Love the antipasti, garlic knots are to die for. The neopolitan and Sicilian pies are great. Love the sauce they make for the dinners and pies. The only complaint I have is that they go light on the pizza toppings. I'd like to see more sausage, pepperoni, etc on the pies, not a few slices sprinkled about. Now I'm thinking about pizza. Maybe tonight.“

“Best Restaurant in Farmingville! We have at least three Pizzarias closer to our house but I always prefer to make the extra trip to La Romas! Besides hands down the best tasting pizza they have a full Italian Menu from Bake Zita, Manicotti, Chicken or Eggplant Parmigiana, and Raviolis for the kids! This place is amazing and the people there are the best! Try them once and you won’t be disappointed!“

“Happened upon this restaurant while visiting Port Jefferson. And glad we did. Got here early enough that we could get a table right away. Steve took great care of us without being overbearing. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms, which were so freaking good. For main course my husband got the Chicken & Sausage Scarpiello, and I had the Veal Scallopini - both were delicious. We finished off sharing the Rainbow Cookie Cheesecake. This exceeded my expectations. Everything was so good that my husband wants to go back tomorrow!“
