“We got stranded in Tuxedo both before and after the Ren Fair and stopped into Reggie Bar to hang out. Everyone was so nice and welcoming there! I wish I remembered the names of the owners, but they were lovely! And we talked to a lot of the regulars too and everyone was so kind and helpful. Honestly we enjoyed our time here more than the fair, the vibes were so good. If we’re ever in Tuxedo again, we’ll definitely stop by!!“

“A group of my friends came here for a birthday dinner and we had a fantastic time. Frankie saw that we were interested in the building because the restaurant is built within an old bank with some Jersey history. So he gave us a little tour and was super hospitable. Our waiter was also excellent and professional. My table ordered burrata, garganelli vodka, sunday sauce, octopus, & salmon, and everyone was happy with their dish. The food, hospitality, ambience, staff, and service make for a great spot for dinner dates, celebration, or just a good time! Personal preference - I loved seeing the open concept kitchen in the back and the brick oven. It adds to the experience of dining and the kitchen doesn't seem so far away. As a food lover and home cook, I would love to sit closer to the back and see how the food is prepared :) Will definitely be back and highly recommend coming here.“

“I have been here multiple times and everytime the food and service are excellent. This time it was for breakfast with the Easter bunny. It was a perfectly executed passed brunch. With all the kids it was nice not to have to wait in a buffet line.“

It was memorable but the music was a bit to loud for me as it was almost impossible to have a conversation. I'm sure some others would disagree. “This is a very nice spot. If you are a connoisseur of dive bars like I am, you will love the decor and vibe. The customers and bartender were all friendly. Price was about average I guess. Regarding food, they said they only had a small bar pie, and that limited menu sort of gave me the impression that it was probably frozen and heated up, so I passed on the food and just enjoyed a beer and the atmosphere. Definitely a nice spot to grab a drink though. Especially if you are a local in the area of this bar, I definitely recommend it. If you are a fellow dive bar connoisseur, put this one on your list, and unless you happen to be hungry at the time, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Go and enjoy!“

We've eaten here a couple of times in the food's been good. I was a little disappointed in the chicken scarp as the potatoes were cold in the middle was kind of strange. “Great local vibes here with a solid food and drink menu. Great service as well. Outdoor seating in the warmer months. My only knock is the noise. They have brick walls in the inside which don't absorb sound. It gets loud when crowded, which makes conversation a challenge. Something to consider if that's important you. Also, live music can be very loud. I wish they'd dial the volume down a tad on their speakers.“

“Went back to Doghouse after a long hiatus and was pleasantly surprised that nothing changed except the live Jazz music on Thursday nights! Very cool! Food was the usual good greasy type except HUGE portions! My cheesesteak was large and tasty as well as my girl's grilled chicken sandwich... def get your moneys worth! Service was spotty but acceptable but then again it's a hometown pub, what do you expect? Stop in on Thursday nights for the live Jazz, saves a trip into the city!!“

I was last here about 20 years ago but to be honest, like most, I have zero reason to ever be in Verplanck. The place looks basically the same as I remember, very neat, clean and of course with a stellar menu. I observed Carmine (at the bar) preparing some amazing looking cocktails! Great service, well priced, friendly staff and great dishes! One thing I want to point out is how the first forkful of my cold antipasto salad appetizer immediately tasted soooo different. I wasn't expecting fresh, 'sharp' provolone -- no sliced ham here kids. Tonight was an unexpected treat! I will again grab my passport and cross the border into Westchester to spend more time here! “The avocado blt was awesome. Pretty good air filtration for smoking a cigar. That can be a big issue with some places. 15$ cut fee at first was questionable but i get it, its nice not to have a bunch of bums coming in and not spending just to smoke. You could also just buy a cigar for a little over 20 and that counts.Love when a bartender can read your body language when you want to have a conversation and when you don't.Will def be coming back.“
