“A five-star experience at The Green Gem in Smithtown. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and authentic, and you can see that every dish is made completely from scratch in front of you. The flavors stood out in every bite, especially the chicken and steak tacos, zucchini pupusa, and fajitas.

This is a wonderful family-owned spot with genuinely kind people The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept, they wiped the grill down each time they made a dish and use gloves. The portions were generous, and everything was so delicious that we left completely stuffed and I still have enough for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. “Had the pleasure of eating at the Greenport location. Two of my HS girlfriends and myself on moderately busy on Sunday (1012/24) at about 5:30. A young waiter named Brian was our server. We first ordered drinks, mine was the margarita with the pomegranate swirl. So delicious!! Refreshing and frosty! We shared the Mexican Street corn and the three dips with chips, which were freshly made. So fabulous! So tasty. The salsa, guacamole and queso were just perfect, each different but delicious!! The corn was sweet and flavorful. I had three tacos in hard shells. Fried chicken, fried shrimp and the marinated steak. Each one was different and very fresh. My one friend, is a vegetarian and the other is gluten intolerant BUT! They each found many yummy choices! I’ve been trying to get to this restaurant for several years, and finally the planets aligned! Brian was well trained, patient and informative with a good humor. The interior is bright, festive and clean. So much food, I could not finish all of it. And!! the restroom was clean! You should be very proud of this business! We will be back! Thank you!!“

“Simply the best taco spot in the area for true street-style tacos. I used to drive all the way to Queens to get tacos like these, and now I’ve found this gem just 2 minutes from home.

I ordered the birria tacos and they were absolutely amazing. The meat quality was excellent and the portions were very generous. The birria consommé was perfectly seasoned and came with a grilled jalapeño that added the perfect touch. The tacos also came with fries, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food.

I also tried the chorizo tostadas, and once again the portion size and flavor were incredible. The condiments were fresh and well balanced, and those came with fries too. There was so much food that it was easily enough for two people.

I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious street-style tacos, this is the spot.“

“This place is absolutely amazing. I came in just to grab a quick bite to eat but everything looks so delicious.

I don't know what they call it but I tried a cactus leaf and it was delicious. It has such a flavor that is similar to I guess an artichoke but also very different at the exact same time.

I had two chicken tacos and one chorizo. I love the fact that they have a bar where you can add as much salsa and toppings as you want.

So delicious.

The place is so clean and spotless it's not even funny. Guys behind the counter are awesome and I already be back.“

“My Dominican wife and I have tried almost every Hispanic restaurant on Long Island. We love authentic Mexican, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Colombian, Dominican, Puerto Rican, all types of real Hispanic food. The food from this place is absolutely unbelievable. The el pastor taco was enough to make me close my eyes and block out the world. It was by far the most amazing taco I’ve ever had in my life. The octopus was also out of this world. The flavor and portions are unmatchable. I can’t say enough about how good this food is. You would never know it, hidden in this location. Food is fresh, their salsa verde (green sauce) is made fresh daily and when we order we always ask for an extra big container of it. From their chips to their burritos 🌯 everything on the menu is worth trying it’s that’s good.“
