“Super friendly service, gave me a free bottle of water while I waited. I got BBQ chicken wings and fries and the fries hit but the wings were way overcooked to the point of there not being any meat left. Would maybe return to try the fish instead.“

“This review is long overdue, but I ordered a larger batch of catfish nuggets from Geno’s last month for a small dinner I was hosting with friends — and they were a hit!
It was my first time ordering from them so I stopped by a day before to check out the space (I prefer not to order from restaurants sight unseen). For a restaurant that serves fried fish, it was spotless inside...that was the very first thing I noticed! The place was bright, fresh, and very clean.
I placed my order in advance and paid ahead. When I arrived to pick it up, everything was piping hot and fresh. The fish didn’t taste like it was cooked in old oil (I'm always nervous about that), and it was perfectly seasoned, lightly crispy, and delicious. I also tried the cabbage salad with kale, which was amazing. I’ve thought about it several times since and I'll definitely be back for that.
What really made it a 10/10 experience was the owner. She was so kind and has such a warm, genuine spirit. It made my first-time experience that much better. Everyone I interacted with there was friendly and welcoming.
I love finding local spots that get both the food and the service right — and Geno’s definitely does. Highly recommend!“
“The food was delicious, I can't wait to visit again. Keep up the great standard guys..One love!!!“

“Please make hush puppies a side choice with seafood orders. It used to be very popular in the 90s to order in the Bronx with seafood.
I used Google translate to write what they are in Spanish if understand what it is better in Spanish. Los hush puppies son pequeñas bolas saladas, fritas y elaboradas con masa de harina de maíz, que son un alimento básico de la cocina del sur de Estados Unidos.“

“This is my go to. It's withih walking distance. I'll call ahead and by the time I get there, my guy Brandon Always has my order ready.
Unusually I get the Whiting sandwich, (Which the names is misleading because you'd thik it's A piece of fish rather than the Four Delicious pieces you Actually get!) 🤤
Damn... I just wrote myself into ordering again today! 😄“

“I strictly go here for shrimp and mash! fried or natural, either type are delicious but my fav is the natural’s. I also get a side of tostones with the garlic sauce 🤤 It’s a small spot & could get loud and crowded at times but the food is well worth it, but to go plates are more so the way to go, it’s a good spot you get served fast it’s open 24hrs.“

“Went for the honey pork bun and the small Thai fries. The bun is really small. You can see my finger in the photo for size comparison. Everything was very tasty though. It's like having a sweet bacon sandwich. Next time I might order a bucket instead. The Thai fries had a good amount of seasoning and was good with the included mayo. I got dessert in Alamo Drafthouse later so I'm glad the portions weren't big. Gave me room. Expensive though.“
“My friend brought me here when I was visiting San Francisco and I wished he brought me here multiple times (but theres so much good food in SF). The fish were crispy and the meat was nice and tender. The fries were nice and thick and salted nicely.“

“I was visiting Brooklyn and needed food, I looked up fish on yelp. It was like ennie mennie minnie moe. I chose Soul of the Sea after I viewed the menu. I called first to see if they are open because a lot of businesses closed due to COVID-19. Someone answered immediately and did in fact confirm that they were open. I informed them that I was coming but. When I arrived I announced that I called and placed my order. The person that took my order was very kind, friendly, and courteous. His customer service was fantastic. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked what kind of fish was on the sandwich, he directed me to the menu and said, whiting, do you see it under section of fish sandwich. I did conquer. He told me the price and asked if that price was fine. I said yes and then ordered a carrot cake. His attitude compelled me to buy something as I was eager to support a mom and pop style restaurant. I told the person taking my order that I was passing through and needed to eat. He thanked me for stopping in. The interaction was wonderfully pleasant, the store clean and the staff was attentive. The person that came to the front of the business to sweep, greeted me and thanked me for stopping in. This is an A class, 5 star service restaurant when it comes to serving the customer. Enough about the interaction and now the food. The sandwich was proportioned with a decent amount that was not too filling. I'm used to pieces of fish that were too long for the bread. I am also very pleased that they gave me wheat bread instead of white. The carrot cake was surprisingly not too sweet as I didn't want nothing sweet sweet. Bravo guy's“

“we went to the Vegas location and how Gordon Ramsay can put his name to the crap this place serves up is beyond belief. the batter is way to thick and over cooked and the highlight should not be the Dijon mayonnaise that comes with the food. terrible food and a waste of $39“

“Wait times are usually long but that’s because they have a lot of people coming in I’ve had this place twice and the fish and chips always come out Devine. Seasonings on the fish itself are perfect and I love the amount of condiments they give you. The hot sauce is great I can’t tell if they use Texas Pete but it’s my fav with the tartar sauce“

“Came in with a few people during happy hour on a Friday and had a few drinks at the bar. Margaritas were amazing, we loved the vibe of the place, super attentive staff (shoutout to the bartender), and clean! We did not have any food so I cannot speak on it, but it looked and smelled very good from what we saw! Would recommend checking it out.“

“The best fried fish in town. Small husband and wife joint. Nothing fancy to witness but you can appreciate the food they serve it’s such a hidden gem and it’s my all time favorite spot. Took my friend here for lunch today for the first time and he said the best beans in this area hands down.“
“foods really good I wouldn't recommend getting anything fried as I know from experience there's usually more breading then there is seafood on the fried items. with that being said go in and indulge on several of the steamed items lastly don't forget to get the yellow rice with it last time I went they were charging an extra 2 dollars for the rice the price could of gone up a bit.“
“I’ve been a customer at DUNCAN’S for many, many years. It used to be on the corner of Vanderbilt and Myrtle Avenues it was good then and it’s even better now.“

“HELLO everyone.
Jay fish market has been my go to for my saw food needs since I moved in the Bronx 6 yearw ago.
The fish is always fresh and the staff is attentive and hard working, they also SERVE fried seafood platters which I intend to TRY but have yet to do so.
The other day when I went to BUY my seafood, I noticed red tilapias. ? I wondered if they WERE a new breed since I never knew that tilapias came in that color, I enquired via google to make sure that they were in fact naturally grown as the black ones. To find out that they are compared to red snapper and it is said that the black ones are usually used for fillets. Anyway I brought one and to my surprise it was delicious, meaty and very tasty ?.
I am giving Jay fish market a thumbs up for selling such good seafood since I have been living in the Bronx. I recommend this location for all your seafood needs, the prices are great, the seafood is fresh and I know the fried seafood is good because people eat in there often even though the place is small.
Enjoy Jay Sea food products, they are top notch in the Bronx.“

“Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday, let me tell you , if I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would.
The escovitch snapper meal with rice and peas, steam veggies and Macaroni salad was simply amazing.
What was even more impressive was the level customer service.
I will certainly be back!!!!“
“Oh i love this place, usually easy parking, clean, fast, great fresh tasting food! Prices are very affordable, stuff for adults and kids. Social distancing and hand sanitizer is definitely a plus. I would call ahead n order to avoid standing around. Nice, friendly, respectful, and helpful staff. I've seen people come from near and far to this place! I highly recommend!“

“So I noticed this spot on YT so I went to the city and it was hard to find but we found it. I really went because he changes the grease daily. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However it was $4 per fish which made the fish sandwich $12 but hey it was descent I can't really complain. 💯😶“

“Wow, never had their chicken before as I usually just get their burgers since I like thinner burger patties. I ordered two breast pieces and one thigh and got the potato wedges. Was so good I ate all 3 pieces of chicken, which is unheard for me as I usually only eat one or two, and all but maybe 5 wedges. Was delicious, hit the spot for sure. Food was also nice and hot and I got a ton of wedges, not some little fistful thrown in. The people that work there are also very nice, polite, and helpful. Now that I know how good their chicken is I'll be buying that from them a lot more often.“
“pues me en canto el servicio“
“The fish is fresh and good. They have a large variety of all kinds of seafood. The problem is: the portions are too small. They are very cheap with the veggies and yellow rice on steam orders.I will speak to the owners to change this, since the food alone would get 5 stars!“

“I buy broiled salmon regularly at the Fish House because cooking it at home means lingering odors in my apartment. The salmon is always fresh and cooked perfectly. The one-pound portion is enough for my family of three people to share, plus it comes with rice and salad. We also love their seasoned fries, which are called JoJo's. The fish is cooked to order, so I recommend calling ahead so that your order is ready for you. If not it takes about 15 minutes to prepare. They have waiting areas both outside and inside with tables and chairs.“
