“This is your quintessential family restaurant in the heart of America. Everything from meatloaf to lasagna, stuffed pork chops to burgers. We had 1 strawberry shake that was enough for 2 people & if you are still hungry they have many pies for dessert. I think our waitress was one of the owners. They took good care of us with their American comfort food! Very economical & worth the stop!“
“As a truck driver I drive the Thruway a lot and with coffee shops not being open late this is one of my go-to stops. Mainly because they actually have cookies there that they bake .in house. If you're looking for a coffee and a treat fix definitely want to make a stop here. It is inside the pit stop gas station. And they also have food that is made to order. I will say I do wish they had some pizza out late at night but otherwise good service good coffee and good cookies“
“Me and my boyfriend came for a spa weekend in the area escaping NYC. Found this place and I totally recommend it. Flavours were amazing. Had the risotto and artichoke pizza. So genuine and rustic. Service was super nice and friendly. I wish more places like this existed closer to NYC.“
“Lovely place my sister discovered and recommended. I had the chicken broccoli Alfredo dish, and my husband had the quesadillas. It was a very large platter and was good since I like garlic, but if you don't, that wouldn't be the dish for you! I tried their root beer, and it too was very good. My husband has the black tea and thought it could have been a touch sweeter. We were too full to try the ice cream.“
“The place was really cozy inside and it felt very welcoming. The food was great. My muffin breakfast sandwich was terrific, way better than a McDonald's sandwich. My children really enjoyed their pancakes which the waitress happily split for them to share. The coffee was hot and freshened regularly. Overall, I would say this is a great option if you happen to be in the area and looking for a breakfast place.Parking: You won't have a problem finding a spot.Kid-friendliness: Our kids had a great time here and seemed very family friendly. Would recommend bringing kids here.“
“They have a parking lot across the street from the restaurant for customers. The entrance is a bit narrow into the building. I ordered the broccoli with fettuccine noodles my friend ordered the lasagna with sausage added on. We also ordered the escargot appetizer. The escargot came in mushrooms. It was pretty good. My broccoli on fettuccine was ok. It didn't seem to have any type of sauce on it. It was steamed broccoli, mushrooms, pimentos and onion over fettuccine with a dusting of shredded Parm. The broccoli was cooked just the way I liked it. My friends lasagna was really good. I had the salad as my side with crumbley blue and Italian dressing. My friend had the beef barley soup as his side. Both were good. Overall we enjoyed the restaurant all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Also if you get a soda they do charge you for refills. I recommend calling the day before and making a reservation. We called the night of and luckily they were able to find us a spot.Parking: Located across the street.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu .“
“My best friend, my husband and I went there for an event they had in July last year and they had a bunch of vendors, food trucks etc. But the beverages they had on site were amazing! I'm not a huge beer person but man, they were fresh and yummy. It's such a nice atmosphere as well. And friendly staff always“
“Stopped today to enjoy an outdoor meal on a nice day. Was not sure what to expect food-wise. Pleasantly surprised ! The burgers are fabulous, the "pudder" burger was made to order, cooked to perfection, and the toppings were extremely fresh. While my wife had ice cream for dessert, I had another pudder burger ! My new fav place for a burgers“
“My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday, it was pretty empty when we went in and it looked like there was only one guy working there and he took our order quickly we got the Mac and Cheese and the Cajun Chicken Alfredo with garlic bread( which had green butter lol completely threw us off but it was very good) we got a round of shots before we left and I got a free one for my birthday. They were playing music and there are little games in there too everything on the menu looked really good and what we got was absolutely amazing we will be coming here again for sure!“
“Waitress was very busy as she was also bartending, so she wasn't into friendly banter. However, a nice gentleman gave up his seat so that I could sit down at the bar and the beer was cold and the atmosphere was chill so I'll definitely stop by again !“
“You must visit this pure gem of a lounge. Bands are fantastic, easy crowd to mingle with and be comfortable around and Lynn is the absolute best bartender/ owner I have had the pleasure to meet in all my years being in the restaurant business myself. Truly an enjoyable evening out and I look forward to many more!!“
“We were staying at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Auburn after a long drive and wanted to eat somewhere we could walk to….well this is the place folks…we called for reservations around 3:45 for 6:30. We got there around 6:25 and we were seated by the fireplace. For a Wednesday evening the place had a really good crowd….our service was excellent and the food was amazing…standout dishes were the Salad Lyonnaise with bacon and a poached egg, Foie Gras special(really amazing), Fried Buttermilk Chicken and lastly the blueberry creme brûlée for dessert. Our cocktails were excellent also….Definitely the place to eat in the downtown area and only a 3 minute walk from the hotel not 8 like Google maps had indicated….“
“Balloons is the real deal. They come to their ambiance and reputation honestly - built over decades. The food is always excellent and well prepared. The service is always friendly and attentive. Great for steak lovers but don't sleep on the rest of the menu including their traditional Italian specialties. If you get stumped by the expansive menu, just order the Rattlesnake Pasta. If it's your first time at Balloons don't let the neighborhood or well-worn rooms dissuade you. Have a seat, order a Manhattan and some Utica Greens and revel in what every restaurant should be - local, legitimate and lovely.“
“Went here for the first time, and LOVED IT!! They actually have HASH BROWNS!!! Yes!!!! You can pick with or without onions. I got onions and not just small cut ones, I mean chunky onions!! They also have home fries too. I ordered the corn beef hash, two over easy eggs, ( made over easy very happy ), toast, and the large side of hash browns with onions with some coffee that had a great taste. All of this with a tip was affordable!! Place is cozy and small and welcoming. I will come here again for breakfast to try other items on the menu like the garbage plate, and several options with pancakes!!“
“Food was delicious! We got burgers and fries. The ice cream menu had lots of options (I will leave room for dessert next time). We will definitely be back each summer. Worth the drive!Love the indoor and outdoor seating options as well. It is next to Emerson Park. Beautiful place to stroll before or after your meal.“
“Best breakfast in Auburn!! My Nucor teammates recommended me to visit here & im so glad I did! I got to sit next to the owner at the counter & he shared his story & also had me try honey in my coffee instead of sugar. Breakfast was absolutely delicious & the service was awesome!“
“Busy decor - could sit there for a couple hours and not register everything adorning this place. Server was friendly and attentive. Only had finger foods, but it was good. The spiked hot cocoa was delicious, and perfect on a cold snowy day, but was more expensive than I expected, so a little sticker shock when the bill came. Would go back though; fun place.“
“A+ eatery in all regards. I’ve begun bringing my vegetarian teen in regularly for special 1x1 days. I’ve loved every menu item I’ve ordered, as has my teen. The atmosphere is wonderful. The lighting is bright. The dining area is spacious and quiet. This is an excellent place to grab a cup of coffee and have a peaceful moment. And how wonderful that proceeds benefit the theater (scholarships for students). Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Great food, even for teens!“
“I never write reviews but have now found a reason to recognize on of the finest restaurants I've ever experienced! everyone who knows me will say I quite often criticize food or cleanlines. the food was a 20 out of 10! amazing and can't believe how slow it was yesterday (Sunday) at noon. everything was outstanding, neither overcooked or undercooked. best riggies I've ever had as shrimp are Reef Riggies instead of Chicken. Well worth the trip to experience, not all that far from Syracuse... I just can't stop talking about this place and recommend to everyoneI“
“This place is phenomenal! My family and I stopped in for lunch and we were extremely happy with the service and the food. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.I had the best shrimp tacos of my life! I am a home chef and take my food very seriously…I’m still dreaming about them!!! My husband was also very happy with his beef on weck. The place was cozy and clean and just an absolute home run all the way around!HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

Hey big pile of fries for both of us.....Parking: A few parking spots on the street ....directly across the street is another parking lot which is very good size......“
“My family and I absolutely loved it here. The food was fantastic. Our waitress was super friendly and paid especially good attention to the kids. There was a man singing and playing guitar. He was fantastic. Had the kids dancing in their seats while we waited for our food and while we ate. Will be back again!“
“We loved the charm, atmosphere and hospitality at the Springside Inn. We particularly appreciated the time that Sean took to share the background to the Inn, the local attractions, and his recommendations for other area sites to visit - which we did (nearby Aurora).Rooms: Spacious, well-furnished and appointed.Nearby activities: Wine toursHistoric downtownHarbour and Finger LakesNearby historic towns“
“The food was fantastic, compliments to the chef, the service was excellent, the server attentive, the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.Dietary restrictions: Menu can be adjusted reasonably.Parking: Connected to hotel. May vary depending on hotel occupancy. 6“
“Had a beautiful brunch this past St Patrick’s day. it was incredible, I had the Spanish Omelette and my partner had the lobster benedict. We also shared the unbelievable Monkey Bread and it was fresh out of the oven and topped off with Cream cheese frosting! it was the second time we had the pleasure of being served by Jesse. His personality is so endearing and his service was impeccable. We had an absolutely lovely brunch and will be back, and asking for Jesse of course!“
“I ordered the Basic Breakfast and I had a feeling my plate sat out too long because my food wasn’t hot .. and the home fries were a pile of brown mush .. I should’ve sent it back but my husband loved his breakfast wrap so much I didn’t want to be a Debbie downer ..“
“Standard American fare and VERY good. Portions of food were very good as well. Service was timely and the host and server was kind and professional.Dietary restrictions: Order can be adjusted.Parking: Restaurant is situated in Old Town area with limited parking out front. This parking is $2 for 2 hr max time. Parking garage one block over if you are needing more time.Kid-friendliness: Accessible to children and items for children“
“Comfortable restaurant with enclosed porch seating overlooking Skaneatales Lake. It's part of a very charming inn dating back to the early 1800s so waiting for a table in the cozy bar or by the lobby's roaring fireplace is a pleasure. The Sherwood Inn Favorites part of the menu is the most unusual, with old-fashioned dishes like a Yankee Pot Roast and roast chicken. Lots of mashed potatoes or Tavern Rice to accompany all entrees! We enjoyed the grilled duck breast and a roast beet salad which is suited to lighter appetites. Older crowd with lots of locals and more casual vibe in the bar. Delicious berry cobbler dessert.“
“Nice sized place in Auburn, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a bar on one side of the building and the dining is on the other. Every wall has multiple TVs going with different sporting events. The menu is large and varied, plus they had a separate page of lunch specials. The Goulash Bread Bowl was very good, as was their version of a garbage plate. Our server was very friendly and accommodating.“
“The food is good like always. The wait was so long. It said my food would be done in 20 minutes. I ordered to go and still waited over an hour. This was about 515 they said my food would be ready. The dinning room wasn't full so they must have had a lot of on line orders for dinner.“
“went here for ice cream and wow was it good! i got black raspberry soft serve (so good) and my partner got panda paws and cake batter sundae. also delicious! it's a small little place with some seating inside and plenty of parking outside. will definitely be back.“
