Don't miss these West Babylon Mexican restaurant gems.
“Stopped here for a quick bite and a birthday treat, the promo wasn't working so the employee helped comp a queso cup. Unfortunately there was a fire alarm going off from the building next to them which was driving business away but props to their team for still trying their best.“
“My buddy has been telling me for months, you have to go to Los Texanos for tacos. I told him, I have a few requirements. Do they have cerveza and is it gringo friendly? There is nothing worse than going to a authentic place and not knowing how to order. He said you'll have the best horchata you've ever had, trust me. Pulling into the lot is a challenge. The curbs aren't flat so you have to pay attention when you pull in. Its on a corner so when you back up there are cars coming at you at every angle. Be careful and aware or find another spot on the side of the building. Walking in, the space at one time was a deli. There are a few tables to the right along with a cold case that has various cold sodas and iced teas. To the left is where the magic happens. There is a hot food bar with all sorts of yumminess. Chicken, pupusas and other items at the hot station. There is a menu board with pictures explaining some of the items, I zero in on the tacos. A counter person asks would I like, I tell her 3 tacos please. She says, chicken? I said I'd like Chorizo and Al Pastor as well. Another woman came to me and I explained what I'd like to order. While I'm waiting, there is no cerveza being sold. They do have a few jugs of Horchata on tap. I order one horchata and now I want to pay. I ask how much and the sweet lady looks up like she's adding and says $10 please. 3 crazy good tacos and a large horchata for $10 bucks?! That folks is a pretty good deal. The tacos come to me. Man.. that is some pretty good tacos. It comes with three sauces: White Sauce, Green Sauce and a hot sauce. I don't know what I'm doing, I put the white sauce on the chorizo taco, did I perform a faux pas? Ah, the white sauce tasted good with the chorizo. The green sauce? I poured it on the second taco, more yummy goodness. The tacos were really good, this place is a hidden gem for lunch.“
“This restaurant is similar to a Chipotle or Moe's, as you come in and order at the counter and walk down the showcase choosing what you'd like. It's separated into two different departments. One is Mexican style options (salads, tacos, fajitas, etc...) and the other is frozen yogurt and traditional salads (Greek, Caesar, etc). The restaurant in itself is spacious and clean! And the staff was so helpful, friendly and patient. Here's what we ordered! A chopped Greek salad, a Vegetarian Iguana salad, a Lost Coast sandwich and a Diet Coke. The Greek salad was very large and filled with all different veggies. The dressing, a little too much, but more is better then skimpy. I'd ask for a little less dressing next time. The Iguana salad was filled, tasty, and hit the spot! Both salads came with tortilla chips which were a perfect complement to the salads. Now, the fish sandwich was fair. The fish was cold, not crispy and underwhelming for sure. But, the coleslaw on top was very good. The sodas are refillable which is a plus. Lastly, the prices were fair and decent. Overall, for a taco/salad joint this place holds the 5 stars well.“
“been waiting to try this place for YEARS since i first heard abt it. its like an elevated chipotle bowl LOL. solid meal and huge portions.I got the fat boys barbacoa and my friend got the hawaiian. Mine was lacking a little sauce so was a bit dry but overall, enjoyable anyways. My friend’s shrimp was so good. Might come back to try their shrimp + fish tacos.“
“Compared to maracas or guacamole time across the street, this place is on point. Had the Birria and theu were delishish. Across the street they put Chipotle sauce in their Birria for some ungodly reason and it's terrible . Limon tasted like Dirty Taco. I will be trying more things off the “
“My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it’s was incredible. The food was so delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful. I got a chicken burrito and he got the skirt steak and we both loved our meals. The guacamole was outstanding. I highly recommend this place.“
“Been here a bunch of times. Staff is always great.. Quality is always great. Food is always fresh and hot. Cool little vibe. Will continue to be a customer. Love the quesadillas, that’s my go to. My wife loves the shrimpy taco. Fair prices for great products.“
“Taste Haven fills a void in the area for healthy flavorful food. I really enjoy their paninis and smoothies and am excited to try more of the menu. I recommend ordering ahead and picking up because the food is made fresh and takes a bit. They also have online ordering, delivery and meal prep but haven’t tried that yet.“
“Never order the liquor. First, let me say the food is wonderful. The servers are quite kind. But again, DON'T ORDER THE LIQUOR. I asked for an Old Fashioned at first; I saw they had a collection of whiskey, so I figured it wouldn't be that big of an ask. Unfortunately, neither the server nor whoever they had working behind the counter seemed to know very much about making drinks. So instead I just ordered a Jack & Coke.$12.95 for a freaking Jack & Coke. That's insane! They'd make back the bottle in 3 drinks! Jack Daniels is NOT pricey. I've paid less for elevated cocktails in the city. And had they given me a good cocktail, I would've said that was a fair price. But no, they gave me a splash of jack with a heavy dose of soda. That's $8 max, not $12.95. I should've known better than to order it when I didn't see the liquor menu, I guess.Aside from that, the food is some of the best on the Island and the service is phenomenal. Tip 'em well, they deserve it.“
“We had a great time, both the hotel and the beach were very beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff was very kind and helpful, and there were many interesting activities (minigolf, Mediterranean city, Aquapark, etc). We will definitely come again :)“
“My gf and I were on the hunt for some good authentic Mexican tacos. We stumbled upon this place on a whim doing a quick google search and the reviews were very good. So we decided to stop in for dinner and we quickly realized why! Everything was on point from the customer service, to the food/food quality and the portions. We will return…“
“I decided to give this place a try. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I chose a custom salad with adobo chicken and a slew of toppings and even a decent portion of guacamole on it for no extra cost. Their Chicken quesadilla was huge and well balance with my choice ingredients. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Qdoba, they do everything right. I believe prices to portion ration is fair. The only downside I think is that possibly they just don't stand out enough vs the competition. I definitely recommend this place.“
“Let me tell you the place is not too big it only had two tables. But I'm here to talk about the food is real authentic Mexican food really delicious & they even have Mexican products like the paletas my favorite is the mango with chile is sweet and spicy at the same time very refreshing. Now the service was good very respectful gentlemen.“
“Amazing restaurant whether it's with friends or family! One of my best friends from college raved about this restaurant and it's easily a hidden gem! You wouldn't normally expect to have a Greek-Mexican fusion restaurant but this one is amazing! I highly recommend getting their stuffed poblano peppers (stuffed with Cauliflower as I'm vegetarian) - 11/10! They even have mocktails and I recommend the mango mule - which I absolutely loved! Will definitely be back here, but given today was Saturday, the restaurant was busy so you couldn't hear the conversation, but food and service are top notch! Also...Food Network...get here ASAP!“
“We came on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t too busy but the service was amazing and the food is delicious! The nachos with tomatillo sauce on the side was my absolute favorite. Everything is fresh and the sauces are made in house. We ordered the margarita flight which was not only an amazing spectacle but every flavor was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place! 10/10“
“Besito has done a great job transitioning to the south shore. The atmosphere is different from the Huntington location, but only in a way that makes it feel like it's always been in West Islip. The food is superb, and although the menu doesn't highlight this, their complimentary tortilla chips and salsa are homemade, and it shows. We have now been there three times, and we have yet to be disappointed by the food or staff. My last foray to their dining room, I indulged in the Arrechera (skirt steak). It was lightly marinated and cooked to my liking; medium rare. I was expecting it to be cooked correctly, but I was ill-prepared to find it so tender. Also, as an aperitif... I highly recommend their El Pepino Margarita. What a refreshing mix of fresh cut jalapeños, cucumber and high-quality alcohol.“
“It’s like every other QDoba. They have a tendency to go a little light on the vegetable toppings though.Vegetarian options: Has Impossible Meat as a protein option. You can also go meatless.Dietary restrictions: You can fully customize your bowl to accommodate your diet. I eat here as vegan without issue.“
“Been meaning to try this place for awhile and we are glad that we finally did. Their sauces are out of this world. The burrito bowl is massive. Super fresh guacamole. The baria and Mongolian beef tacos are awesome. Highly recommend a visit.“
“In the event you're down and quarantining with Covid or flu, do yourself a favor and order a delivery of Tortilla soup! It does the body good, is so healing and will help your throat. Just spicy enough with chicken and toppings included, a large order is good for a couple of meals. The mini enjoyed a large portion of Pork Nachos and a side of rice & beans.I've not been in the restaurant, but the delivery option made me happy!“
“Busy Saturday night wife and I sat at the bar to avoid a wait, the bartenders Katie and Sarah were very Friendly and excellent in attentiveness and service. The drinks were delicious and the food came out right away. We will be seeing them again sooner then “
“Cute place, delicious food. The chicken enchiladas and chorizo taco were spectacular. I was a little upset that the menu said the enchiladas came with beans and rice and I didn't get any, but I already had enough food to fill me up, so it wasn't a big deal. Next time, I really want to try the beans and rice, though. ?“
“Went there for dinner tonight, it's small cozy restaurant, only few tables. Menu is very nice and easy to order. We ordered grilled chicken cruchwrap and vegetables burrito and wings. All were good except wings, ot should be more better.Service is good, nice mexican ambiance.Parking is not a problem. You can order take out also. They have food challenge also, if you win, you will get free food, t shirt e5c.“
“Al pastor taco, side a guacamole and chips. Are always a must!! The burritos are so Bomb. Best taco/burritos in the area. They also have fresh juices they make daily. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Haven’t tried the carne asada that they recommended but I will be back.“
“Went here for the first time and wow have we been missing out!! The food and experience was beyond! Our waiter was such a nice young man who you can really tell he genuinely enjoys his job, which is very rare now a days! The food was DELICIOUS they have a very extensive drink and dessert menu which I personally REALLY appreciateI def recommend this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!!! They even have a fresh guac cart where they make it directly in front of you at your table! SO FUN! I was obsessed with the tree leches cake I want to eat it everyday“
“I ordered the Al pastor Mexico taco trio and a couple of beef tacos tonight 12/02/23. The food was delicious!!! The hot sauces both green and red.... delicious!! I ordered for take out and the order was ready quickly. The business is easily recognized as you drive up and passed. The place is clean and has a few tables for sitting down for a meal if you choose. I will certainly order from them again and I would recommend to anyone to give them a try! Well done ?“
“Such an underrated gem in Seaford. They have both a nice patio in the back decorated to give all the island vibes as well seating out front on the street side, and of course indoor availability. Service was very personable and quick from drinks through the end of the meal. They certainly don't skimp on the variety of options food wise from starters, quesadillas, tacos to wraps etc. Drink wise I went with the "Mammacita Needs A Margarita" aka a Spicy Marg. Loved the addition of cucumber to the drink to balance it and give it a little refreshing aspect. Food wise we just got a smattering of tacos (Luger, Tropical Lobstahhh, Birria, Al Pastor, Carne Smack Dat Asad and the Cali-Flower) just to try and sample a little of everything. First and foremost, the portions are legit - they don't skimp out so you'll be full or even have extra to take home. Taste wise, my top 3 were the Luger, Lobster and Cali-Flower. All very flavorful and unique in their own way. Definitely will be back once the weather heats up!“
“The food was amazingly delicious and authentic. The carnitas was nice and fatty and flavorful. What I didn't like was mostly the "no price posted because it can change" policy. There were no prices on the menu. I was told " $12 for 3 tacos and soda."". Then, when I was paying for my food, I was told soda was not included. I had to wonder if they had a different price for me because I didn't speak Spanish. The surroundings also were not the cleanest. Sidewalk was covered with dirt and debris, and the food truck was between an auto shop and a laundramat.“
“Have cash! I loved my 3 tacos. I do wish they had spicier salsa. My husband had the torta milanesa de rez, he was disappointed that did not have avocado or cheese. Not sure if that is extra, but we are used to other places that do include cheese and avocado. He enjoyed it nonetheless. We came from out east in a snowsquall on the way. It was worth it. Ps. Yelp has wrong address. Foodie life ?“
“This place is nice, well lit and clean, the service is very good, friendly and attentive staff, followed by some great food, had an awesome time, they finally got their liquor license, have mixed feelings about that, it was nice to bring your own drinks and enjoy them with your meal, but they do make some good margaritas“
“I was here once before. I ordered The Carney asada taco,w/ onion's Cambray and nopal Onions are chopped very fine Tasted like I was eating a Spanish pork chop. This is the best little gem. Hidden in the back. Amelia the owner is very sweet. The bottles on the table The green sauce was a little watered down but OK the other 2 bottles meh. I decided to get two. $6.00 .“
“Ordered from here and the nacho bowl was amazing! Everything was really fresh and the ground beef had great flavor. I ordered pick up and it was ready in less than ten min. They also give discounts for Uber eats pickup and in person orders! Definitely going back.!“
“we ordered takeout and were so impressed by the food. we typed out a lot of modifications and they were all correctly applied, and everything was absolutely delicious. highly recommend the quesadillas and burritos! will definitely come again.“
“Stopped in on Taco Tuesday and enjoyed their taco special. 10 tacos, 2 different meats, so we tried all four: steak, carnitas, chicken, and chorizo. Next time I'll just get the chorizo and carnitas tacos. Not that steak or chicken were bad options, but chorizo and carnitas were my favorites. The staff were friendly and helpful.“
“I really like their food, always fresh, very delicious flavor, very friendly service, very good, very fast, good price and what can I tell you about the place, very clean, I love the spaciousness and their tables have television, it is incredible, you can eat while watching a little of television, as if you were at home and what can I say about their super comfortable seats, I love going to eat at this place every time I can, and their tortilla soup is delicious, there I leave my experience for you, you decide.Parking: It is quite spacious and has parking for disabled people.Kid-friendliness: It is a very healthy environment, it is also very colorful, I think it is a good place to take the children to eat.Wheelchair accessibility: If they have a large space for people in wheelchairs.“
“This place has been here forever. It has very good food made by a great guy that works hard. The food is made fresh each time, so the taste is excellent. The atmosphere is more like his family home, very welcoming with his kids sometimes hanging out. There could be room issues for larger groups. Better for take-“
“We stopped here after taking a course nearby. We're not from the area but we were craving some good Mexican food. This place satisfied that craving more than we could have anticipated. It lacks the distracting bells and whistles that most inauthentic lackluster Mexican joints on Long Island tend to have. The focus here is on the food and the passion behind it comes through in each bite. It's tucked away in the corner of a little shopping mall but dont let its lack of street presence keep you from giving it a shot. The horchata was spot on! Will be stopping here the next time we are in the area for sure.“
“Delish food, margaritas were delish too!!Steaks and shrimp ceviche was also very good . We also had creme brûlée for dessert ,amazing. We also loved the band that was playing. We will be back. Highly recommended!! we had a great experience!!!“
“This is not a bad place to eat. I ordered the bowl with all the fixings and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert, it's good. My family prefers Chipotle though, they like the taste of their food. I'm ok with this place, I like the ambience and seating area, and the servings of food are good.Vegetarian options: Guacamole, beans, lettuce, and corn.Kid-friendliness: Big open spaces, table side TV, chocolate chip cookies.“
“It's great that this company requires name tags. Angie was amazing. I don't need employees to smile but I know most customers do and she did the whole time and her speed should be commended. So much faster than the local Taco Bell and they are actually selling real “
“Went here during a lunch break with a good friend. First time for both of us. I got tacos and he got pupusas. Both were made right there and then, fresh. The service was awesome and quick! Place has parking available and easy to access. You want some good Spanish food, definitely check it out!Kid-friendliness: Kids can come and go, with no problemParking: Free parking available“
“The atmosphere gets 2 stars because the music is so loud that you can't have a conversation. Maybe they keep it loud to you get out of there quicker because there's always a wait of 45 minutes or more. Sad because we've been coming here since 2013, when you could sit and enjoy a meal without ear damage. :(“
“(Translated by Google) I love everything they sell there, the people who serve have been kind, the place is spacious, clean and well organized, I have also visited Dulce Mania I and they have also been very kind.(Original)Me encanta todo lo que venden ahí, las personas que atienden han sido amables, el lugar es amplio, limpio y bien organizado, también he visitado Dulce Mania I y de igual manera han sido muy amables.“
“Honestly don't let the appearance of the deli fool you. The tacos are amazing . Lil whole In the wall spot in Farmingdale with great Mexican food. I was working in the area and was looking for some cheap eats and came across this place. The tacos were amazing and definitely not cheap, but we'll worth it. $15 dollars for 3 tacos. Delicious food and very kind workers! They have a good variety of snacks and hot food made fresh daily. The quality of chicken and freshness of the tacos was a 10/10! If ever in this area again I look forward to trying different food options. Amazing Mexican tacos!!! Love the authenticity of their Mexican food.“
“Still going strong and only better since they opened. They change tacos to seasons and they have something for everyone on the menu including vegan choices. Margaritas always on point and a chill relaxing spot to hang or grab dinner. A plus, The owner (JEFF) Is a sweet heart. only wants to please his customer and have them leave happy and wanting to come back. He is quick to get on anything you might need ! Go check it out you will be very happy you did!“
“Met some former colleagues here for lunch. Used to frequent this place back in the day. The owner still remembered me. Great place to meet old friends, have a great meal and a good time. Good food and plentiful portions at reasonable prices. Fun atmosphere and never felt rushed, this time or back in the day. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food.“
“Just left this place after finding it on local places to eat on Google. I must say I'm a foodie and can be critical of places but this place was excellent!! I wish I could give it 10 stars. Everything was fresh and tasty. Can't wait to be in this area again to try more stuff on the menu. Customer service was great as well. Thanks guys see you soon.“
“This Restaurant is in the heart of Huntington Station. Very clean atmosphere and plenty of seating. Weekdays are more ideal for less crowd and weekends are more busy just like any eatery. Food is super fresh and they have so much variety to choose from. Sometimes I order food to go or if I'm in a rush they always have so much delicious options in the Deli section. Love that they have always fresh fruit cut ready to go and fresh juice. The staff and owner are always super accomadating to my needs. Constumer satisfaction is A+Also they have plenty of parking space in the back. It's always a pleasure coming here everyone very intentive.. I always have good experiences here and my tastebuds are always fully satisfied. :)Thank you!“
“I drive 15 minutes out of my way in both directions to come here. The restaurant has a simple, but clean and friendly atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and the service is on point.I usually get the west islip lion burrito. Its got everything you wouldn't put in your every day burrito, but it hits the spot every time.I also get the meatless nachos which is loaded with toppings. Its almost impossible to get a nacho chip with nothing on it. Their empanadas are delicious as well.Just after writing this review, I noticed there was bacon in the burrito I ordered. I don't eat pork, so I called the restaurant to ask how to handle it since I don't live close. Not only did they make me a new one, but they drove all the way to my house 15 minutes away just to get my order and gave me a piece of tres leches cake. I've never had tres leches cake I've liked, but this cake is delicious. You guys are awesome. Thank you“
“My f̲̲a̲v̲o̲r̲i̲t̲e̲ taco place. Definitely a need to go place. They are flavorful, perfect sized, and reasonably priced. The tex-mex chili is my fav in tacos, burritos, ect. Also the employees are so nice??????????Parking: It's small, in and out business so it's easy“
