“We called for same day reservations and were pleasantly surprised to be able to get our requested time, especially for a friday evening. The weather was beautiful, and we contemplated eating outside, but they didn't have lights on their outside deck. But that wasn't a problem, as it was getting chillier out. We ran into some friends as we walked inside and were able to add them to our reservation since they had a 4 top available. Our waitress came right over and took our drink order. We ordered the 32 oz Cowboy Steak to share with a side of broccoli, and the other couple ordered the sesame encrusted Ahi Tuna Steak and the prime rib sandwich with au jus dip and fries. Everything came out perfectly done. We expected that our steak would have been thicker, after seeing pictures of it from previous posts, but it filled the plate. There was also a lot of fat to cut around. We ended up taking half of our steak home, but the other couple finished theirs completely. Because we made reservations, we both received complimentary chocolate mousse, which was delightful! We paired it with a nutty Irishman cocktail. We also took the 2nd chocolate mousse to go.The food is Always good at Jack Kellys. Very flavorful. Their soups are also very good, although we did not order tonight. The atmosphere is very casual, as it's a golf country club.“

“A great day today with a dear friend who has finally moved back to the Albany area.🥰 We have been friends for decades, and I even visited her when she lived in Denver, Colorado. We had a great lunch at Cafe Madison on Northern Boulevard in Albany. She had a yogurt parfait with granola, and fresh fruit, all topped off with enough whipped cream to blanket this group. 🤣 I had a salad of mixed baby greens, walnuts, dried cranberries,poached pears, goat cheese, and a delicious apple cider vinaigrette. Our waitress, Ashley, was a delight. The food was great, but she's the reason I'll be back. Great customer service skills. She loves her job, and it's reflected in her positive attitude.“

As I pulled in, I noticed the owner changing a light bulb and pulling some weeds. WOW. As I entered, I was greeted and seated immediately. Within moments, a wait person appeared, brought me a drink, and took my order -- eggs, toast & bacon. I opened my book and prepared to wait. Before I finished 1 page, she returned with my order PERFECTLY cooked (and I'm pretty picky about my egg)! The portion of bacon was generous, everything was hot, and the price was very reasonable. Gus's is a legendary culinary institution in blue collar Watervliet. It is greasy, messy, inexpensive, unhealthy, and monumentally a must-do Capital District bucket list visit. I grew up across the river in Troy, NY, but I've lived in Central Virginia for 20 years. I visit Gus's every time I return to visit my family.“

The real America, in Albany, away from the well-beaten tourist tracks. Friendly service, great menu, tasty food, and the proprietor is a gent - even let us get group photos on the stage as he hadn’t a band at the time! It was a wet Sunday but we just had a great family get together inside. Not that far from the city centre and worth finding. Very good value as well.“

“B-rads catered my wedding recently. It was by far the best food i have had. For cocktail hour was had bacon wrapped Pierogies, chicken and waffle skewers, coconut shrimp. There was also this massive charcuterie table that everyone was talking about. For dinner we had pulled pork, lemon pepper chicken, and brisket. Sides were mac n cheese, slaw, salad, corn bread, rolls ect. Everything was SO good. The brisket fell apart and was amazing. My husband loved the mac n cheese (it was amazing also). Everyone talked about how amazing the food was. Pricing was good also. They were great to work with leading up to the wedding and even called a couple days before hand to make sure we didn’t need anything else. 10/10 recommend them to cater any event!“
