“This deli has been around for over 40 years, maybe even 50. There were 3 sisters who each had a deli on Queens , and their German recipes lived on after they retired. (Though I admit one of the sisters Helga, of Expressway Deli off Bell Blvd and Horace Harding, but they have been gone 15 years now. Her potato salad would travel to visit family and friends 250 or more miles packed in Ice. )“

“We are regular customers of CARLA. The food is consistently delicious. There’s something for everyone here (one of us is vegetarian and the other is not. Plenty of options for all.) “Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“

“We dined at Ocean Prime before a 7pm play and to celebrate our anniversary. Our waiter, Gordon was terrific and very helpful in navigating the menu and getting us out in time for the show. We both had the $65 pre-show fixed price meal - filet mignon and blackened snapper. Both were very good. We were offered an additional dessert for our anniversary.“

“I experienced Nettie’s for the first time last evening. My dining experience was excellent from arrival to departure. The food was “DELISH!” The owner was welcoming & hospitable, the service was good, and the music and atmosphere wea awesome! I am so pleased and proud to have a “Black” owned establishment where you can dine in Queens in a tasteful environment, supporting our entrepreneurs and our community. “Seating and food was great! They did give me my meat medium well which I asked for just medium, the cook did redo it for me and was very nice and professional about it. The only bad thing about it was the atmosphere which was a bit hot, especially when seated on leather seats and our server Jessie had bit of an attitude. I understand that being a server is tough but at least don’t take out your frustration on customers or have a bad face when serving. Didn’t feel comfortable asking for things from her.“

“I have been a customer of Austin’s Ale House for many years, I know them well they know me well. This year I decided to give the excellent and highly favored family cooking team a break and had Austin’s Ale House cater our Christmas Dinner. I went with the ham dinner for 10 to feed 7 people🤣. The ordering was done with ease and so was the pick up. The family did a preliminary tasting...... LOVED .IT and whatever we have left after the “taste test” will have to serve as our Christmas Dinner. Since the taste test was so aggressive we may need to supplement what’s left with a few cheese omelets 🤣. We enjoyed it so much there was much talk about it becoming the new family tradition. THANK YOU AUSTIN’S ALE HOUSE AND MEREY CHRISTMAS........ PS I’m going to need one of those backyard igloos in a day or so. See you then 🎄❤️“

“I came here on a wednesday night with my wife after a day of travelling and our waitress Nia was very helpful. My wife had some questions about the menu and Nia was very knowledgeable. We don't eat out often and Nia helped us understand the promotions on the menu. The drinks were strong and did not taste watered down. Overall I am very happy with this experience. This was a very filling and cost effective date.“

“I'd like to give kudos to Nick and his staff at Veranda Restaurant & Cafe. We held my daughter's bridal shower brunch for 22 people there today under the pergola. The food was excellent, and the waitstaff led by Daniel was impeccable! I highly recommend this venue.
Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to cilantro, so they prepared guacamole specially for me without this ingredient.

“We had the best pre cruise visit since we were staying nearby at a hotel. Both bartenders were excellent and the regular customers! Made us “southerners” feel comfy and offered up ideas and suggestions of navigating the concrete jungle! If we ever return to NY, we will definitely be back. Awesome food! Awesome service! “I was very unfortunately openly weeping intermittently throughout brunch (bad morning) but our server handled it perfectly and didn’t make it weirder than it already was. Shout out to that king! Also the food was very good and they played the entirety of being killed by geese which was pleasant. Would come again thank you for the extra napkins (high quality, great for dabbing at tears) xox and also my Bloody Mary was excellent“

“Every time I walk into the bar I am greeted by their kind bartender Dani, and if you are a regular she will get your drink ready just as you sit down. Very calm atmosphere and great place to play some pool. Always enjoy having a drink here!“
