“This deli has been around for over 40 years, maybe even 50. There were 3 sisters who each had a deli on Queens , and their German recipes lived on after they retired. (Though I admit one of the sisters Helga, of Expressway Deli off Bell Blvd and Horace Harding, but they have been gone 15 years now. Her potato salad would travel to visit family and friends 250 or more miles packed in Ice. )“

“I was working locally and decided to grab lunch from Wheeler Deli after reading the reviews. The deli is smaller and quaint but has a large case of Boars Head meats, salads, and desserts. I ordered an American Hero, sides of macaroni salad, and potato salad, and a piece of the banana bread. They got right to making my order and the wait time was less than 5 minutes. My sandwich was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The salads were creamy and had great flavor. The banana bread was outstanding; dense and sweet and flavorful. The total for food and a drink was less than $25 which was a great value. I’ll be back.“

“I just got back from a trip to NYC and my brother-in-law treated us to dinner from The Halal Guys in Midtown and I knew it would be good since it was the only food cart with a block-long line after midnight. In fact I liked it so much I wanted to see if I could get something similar nearby... and I found it! I got the chicken and lamb over rice combo and while it wasn't quite the same it was still very good. The only difference is it didn't come with the pita bread and the white sauce tasted a bit different, but not bad. It also has more veggies so more "crunch" but next time I'm going to ask to leave them off (I just don't like the crunch...). I'm very happy to have a local option at a good price and generous portions. Thank you Sam's.“

“My wife wanted to have my 50th birthday party catered, she was looking on City Island where we reside but the prices were out of control. I reminded her of Tinos, where we have in the past got 3 foot heroes and antipasto platters. We called and that was all she wrote! Delivery on time and the food was out of this world!! “Excellent take out home cooked meal style food. I love and buy the salmon piece which is huge and is $8. I also get chicken cutlets for the kids. The cabbage and side items also look good but I just add at home a side and the meal is done. Also the coffee is my favorite in the neighborhood. Muffins melt in my mouth particularly the corn and chocolate chip. They should have more chocolate chip or maybe not bc I would buy and eat it more. There food is great home cooked style for a FAIR price. I’m so glad they are in my neighborhood.“
