“I love Sal’s. I have not been here in a while and I stopped in today and got the Sal’s special and an iced tea and it was fantastic. The food is always excellent here. Breakfast or lunch, you will always get a great meal. Andrew is such a nice guy. You are always greeted with respect here. If you want a great meal with really great service, do yourself a favor and check this place out.“

“Great sandwiches. Good staff. Great hot food. But the prices are unaffordable and at this point as much as I love the food, I won't return ever. Ordered 2 heros. Philly cheese steak and a chicken cutlet hero fresh mutz. 1 order of lasagna about 5 inch square and a tiny rice pudding.
Total price 55 dollars.
Sigh. Smh.

“New owners New Deli. Way better then the old store and i do mean old the last store looked like a store from the wild wild west lights were never on and everything had dust. Now this new store is like when you have a new make over they have a buffet the staff is very nice everything is presentable and the food is so good.“

“Fillmore Deli and Backroom is a pretty solid neighborhood spot with a surprising mix of options. The Korean fried chicken is actually really good crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. They also have a large variety of sandwiches, so there’s something for whatever mood you’re in.

One thing that always throws me off though is they tend to run out of the tuna pretty often, which is strange for a deli. But besides that, everything else seems to be okay. It’s a reliable place to grab a quick bite and the food usually hits the spot.“

The shop has been around for more than 50 years and still serves some of the best sandwiches in the city. We ordered the famous “3 The Hard Way” to try all three classics: pastrami, brisket, and corned beef. Each one was stacked high on rye, and the flavors were incredible. I even bumped into my child teammates who came from the other side of Brooklyn just for the rosca!! Mind you at 8:45 they were still taking out Fresh rocas from the oven for us on the line. Needless to say that even when I got home the Rosca was still very warm. Everyone in my family really loved the Rosca. “WOW…EXCEPTIONAL food and service! I got spicy japchae with shrimp and egg. This tastes like a home cooked meal and is the best japchae I have ever tasted. You can tell that the Chef poured so much love into it. She even had me taste the sauce while she was cooking! This place is a hidden gem!!! The kimchi is also the best kimchi I have ever had.“

The cashier is always friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. They also carry a variety of snacks, and they’re happy to accommodate special requests as best they can. “Well stocked true Italian deli with mostly Italian imports as well as an occasional American brand of coldcut or cheese. Five varieties of prosciutto to choose from and extremely sharp aged provolone and parmesagna are the real deal. Long serving deli staff are friendly and attentive, knowing their customers and their preferences. Around the holidays the deli has all the traditional Christmas foods especially panettone galore! The tops of the shelves fill with hundreds of Italian panettone of many elegant varieties: limoncello, hazelnut, pistachio, latte, nutella, even gluten free ppannetone. Prices are a little higher than surrounding import markets but not unmanageable so. This deli is a treasure of Broadway and a perennial favorite.“

“I can’t say enough great things about Fresh To Go Deli. First of all, the owner Ahmad is such a friendly, genuinely nice guy—I really loved our conversations every time I stopped by. I was staying nearby and commuting to Manhattan for work, but I would always come back here for my meals because the food is just that good.

Their sandwiches are awesome! I had the chicken cutlet sandwich twice, the Philly cheesesteak, and even their hot dog—everything was prepared with so much care and love. The quality and portion size are incredible for how affordable it is, and every single item was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying.

And guess what—they also have fresh-made juices! I tried the immune booster and another juice with apple, carrot, and beet, and I asked for extra ginger, which they generously added. Honestly, one of the best fresh juices I’ve had—super tasty, refreshing, clean, and perfectly made.

What really makes this place special is the friendliness. Ahmad and his coworkers are all incredibly kind and welcoming, and you truly feel taken care of.
