I tried their pork gyoza which per my taste I would’ve liked them a bit more grill. The miso soup was pretty standard. The playlist is excellent with a great homemade sound system. Chef Mark is not only an incredible chef, but a great host too. “I’m literally mid sushi while writing this. This place has the freshest sushi I’ve had in the area. I’m so serious, this is high quality sushi, great texture, great taste, fresh, and overall amazing. The salmon is buttery and the avocado is not hard or too mushy. It’s a bit pricier than other places, but it’s well worth the price. 10/10, I can’t believe I never entered until today.“

“New favorite local sushi take-out spot. Very friendly welcome when I walked in, told them my daughter really wants salmon and they were happy to custom one of the plates to include only salmon.

The salmon itself was excellent. Fresh and smooth texture, dare I say best I’ve had outside of Japan (was there in July).

“I fantasize about Yugen sushi almost every week. It’s the best sushi I’ve had for takeout, and I have to stop myself from ordering from them all the time bc I’d bankrupt myself getting the crispy rice every day. The crispy rice is crazy good and comparable to high end places I’ve tried. The specialty rolls are killer.

I’d only get takeout here because the ambiance is kind of meh. But the sushi is so good it feels like I’m getting a fancy experience for cheap. Yugen is higher priced than other neighborhood spots but it’s 100% worth it.“

“We have been ordering here for years but the price keeps going up on their platters - we usually get the XL sushi sashimi roll platter. It’s $140 at time of this review. Some of the rolls have a Korean flair with Korean pickled radish in them. A lot of spicy mayo is drizzled over the smaller rolls so it’s hard to tell what type of fish/roll you’re eating so keep that in mind if you have guests. Easy to order because you can’t choose.“

“For Queens, sushi you is one of the most reliable and big bang for your buck. We order here at least once a week, the kids love it and we never had problems with quality of the fish. It’s perfect for family take out meals, we have 4 adults 3 minors, I order 6 rolls 2 salmon dinners (sushi and sashimi)2 trio sushi dinners, Plus the free dragon roll, everyone gets a happy belly. “Ordered chicken teriyaki lunch special. It was made fresh as I could hear the meat sizzling in the back and the wait didn't take too long (around 10-15 minutes).

The restaurant environment wasn't too great but I figured this is the kinda spot you order takeout from and, in that case, it's adequate for takeout. The chicken looks moist and well-sauced. The roll looks well-made with no browning on the avocado. Miso soup is comforting to have with chicken teriyaki over rice.

I have no complaints. 8.5/10

“Always a reliable place to get a quick healthy meal. I usually order off Uber Eats for pickup and the food is ready 5 minutes later. A chicken teriyaki meal with rice or noodles is about $9 plus tax. My only issue is that when you ask for it with mixed vegetables they literally only give you ONE piece of broccoli, onions, and some cabbage.“

This place has expanded and has stayed standing for a reason. Their sushi is ALWAYS fresh, their staff makes it a point to get to know you, and it's probably the best sushi I've had in all of NY....and I've had a lot. I will continue eating from here at least once a week (yes, I eat here at least once a week) until they decide to close their doors (which I hope is never)“
