“This place has the potential of being staple in the harlem neighborhood. It more of Americanized Japanese food that they serve. Which is not a bad thing, this is good place if you want something different but still stay in the familiarity of dishes. Their prices are very fairand give good portion sizes. I will recommend for you to come try it if you never been. It's definitely a place to go for lunch or picking up something quick.“

“It's pretty nice inside and I like the massive selection that you can choose from. Definitely cool for hanging with friends or a casual date because the vibe is pretty chill. I usually don't have to deal with a wait before being seated and the skewers are great for sharing because they're all bite sized.“

“I dare you to find me a better sushi place than Otoro. I highly recommend the place. The quality of the food, service and ambiance is unmatched!
I personally recommend the edamame, the Yellowtail roll, and the King Salmon nigiri!
I'll be back here for more. I am here a few times a month“

“We have been ordering here for years but the price keeps going up on their platters - we usually get the XL sushi sashimi roll platter. It’s $140 at time of this review. Some of the rolls have a Korean flair with Korean pickled radish in them. A lot of spicy mayo is drizzled over the smaller rolls so it’s hard to tell what type of fish/roll you’re eating so keep that in mind if you have guests. Easy to order because you can’t choose.“

“Staff are very nice! Fish portions feel a little small but presentation was fantastic. The shrimp + uni, scallop, miso fish (don't remember what it was called), and oyster to start was the best. Very nice of them to give us a mochi dessert on the house at the end! Only other con was that the food court got a little loud at the end.“

“Love this spot! It has become my go-to sushi place within Forest Hills. I have placed both small and big (like platters) orders with them. Their food is fresh and delicious, with plenty of options. Equally importantly, their service is always wonderful and prompt. Can't wait to have sushi from them again soon :)“
“We had dinner reservations with 2 other couples and chose the premium all you can eat option - it is well worth it. Quality and service (our server was Mario) is 10 out of 10. Highly recommend for families and/or friends. Excellent halal option.“

“I’ve loved this place for years, but I just catered from them for the first time, and everything was perfect. The sushi was delicious, they kept the sushi with gluten in a separate container, they have party platters and party trays, and they sold me the perfect amount of food without being pressured to buy too much. The price was reasonable- actually incredible considering how delicious everything was, and everything came on time. I will definitely cater from them again.“

“Went to TORA NYC recently and decided to order takeout, but even from that short experience the hospitality stood out. While we were waiting, they offered us water and were really welcoming, which already left a good impression. The space itself looks beautiful modern, intimate, and definitely feels like the kind of place that would make a really nice date spot.
We ordered three dishes: the Yokan Roll, Negichutoro Don, and Gyudon.
The Yokan Roll was a really nice example of how modern sushi rolls balance texture and richness. Inside was spicy salmon and cucumber, and it was topped with lightly seared salmon, mentaiko sauce, tempura flakes, and tobiko. The seared salmon added a gentle smokiness while still keeping that soft buttery texture salmon naturally has. The mentaiko sauce, made from seasoned pollock roe that’s widely used in Japanese cuisine, brought a creamy, briny umami flavor that paired really well with the fish. Tobiko added those signature little bursts of saltiness, and the tempura flakes gave a light crunch that balanced the richness of the sauce and salmon. It was a well constructed roll where each topping actually had a purpose.
We also got the Negichutoro Don, which had minced medium fatty bluefin tuna over rice. In sushi terminology, tuna is categorized by fat content akami being lean, chutoro the medium fatty section, and otoro the richest cut from the belly. Chutoro tends to be the sweet spot because it has enough fat to be buttery while still keeping that clean ocean flavor. The texture here was incredibly soft and almost melt-in-your-mouth. Negitoro as a dish traditionally mixes minced tuna with scallions, since the word “negi” literally means scallion. The tuna quality here was great and the texture was amazing, but I do think it could be elevated slightly. If the scallions were minced and mixed into the toro instead of sitting on top it would distribute the flavor more evenly. A little shredded nori could add some aroma from the sea, and honestly avocado would pair really nicely with the richness of the tuna.
The Gyudon was probably the most comforting dish we ordered. Gyudon has a long history in Japan and became popular in the late 19th century as a quick, affordable rice bowl. Thinly sliced beef is simmered in a sweet savory broth that’s very similar to sukiyaki sauce, usually made with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sometimes dashi. The beef absorbs that slightly sweet umami flavor as it cooks. Here it was served over rice with scallions, sesame seeds, and an onsen egg. Once everything was mixed together, the egg yolk coated the rice and beef and brought everything together. The sauce, beef, and egg created that rich silky texture that makes gyudon such a comforting dish.
Even though we only ordered takeout, that level of service was noticeable.
Overall the food was really good and thoughtfully prepared. The fish quality was great, the bowls were comforting, and the hospitality stood out even in a quick takeout experience. The restaurant itself looks like a really nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal, so we’ll definitely be coming back to dine in next time.“

“We did the 15-course tasting menu for $90, and it was absolutely worth it. Every single course was outstanding, so much so that I couldn’t even pick a favorite. I’ve had some of the best seafood in Hokkaido, straight from the source, and I can honestly say the dishes served here were just as good, if not better. The sake selection was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!“

“I visited 52nd Sushi with my family and had a good time. It is a small, cozy Japanese restaurant. The space is clean, friendly, and welcoming.
The sushi is fresh. The rolls are well made, and the presentation looks nice. The service is friendly too — people working there are polite and helpful.
Prices are reasonable for what you get. My daughter loves sushi from here. Her favorites are Spicy Tuna and crunchy Shrimp Tempura Roll.
Love it.“

“I'll try to keep this to the point —
I gave Food/Service/Atmosphere 5 🌟 because they were on par for me. For a local spot, this really took me by surprise.
What I ordered:
Miso Soup:
Standard Miso Soup, nothing groundbreaking, but very tasty. Would have loved a tad more tofu & scallion, but that's just me.
Salmon Avocado Hand roll:
Not the hand roll I expected meaning it wasn't in the cone shape I'm familiar with, but it came presented like a taco with the seaweed as the shell. Salmon cuts were huge, and with great colour, avocado was bright & ripe, coupled with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted clean, and fresh.
Yellowtail Jalapeno Nigiri:
I messed up with this, originally I wanted a sushi roll, but my brain flubbed. Great mistake though, because the yellowtail was delicious, practically melted in my mouth, topped with a delicate cut of jalapeno on top.
Love Milk Tea:
Honestly, just a really delicious milk tea topped with osmanthus flower. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet thankfully.
Wagyu Tataki:
Tataki is meant to be briefly seared on the outside, but the center remains raw. Was this seared to the degree I wanted? No. But, was it delicious? Yes. And the meat was incredibly tender, flavour of the sauces really complimented everything on the plate.
I finished off with a matcha cheesecake to go, I'm sure it'll be good.
With tip, I spent $67
Again, for a local spot in Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Personally, with slight adjustments, these folks would do great in midtown. I spent a little under what I would spend at a restaurant in the city, and got an incredibly satisfying meal, and left full.“

“Excellent mom-and-pop small sushi spot in the bigger shopping plaza. Parking is not easily found. Try to park on the neighboring streets.
The quality of sushi is good and they make sushi very fast while you wait even if your order is large.

“This is the best sushi and sashimi spot on Long Island. This place is clean, the fish is fresh and every item we tried on the menu was delicious. We went in low expectations given sushi is better in manhattan but I feel we've found a gem locally. They had a stir friend udon noodle chicken dish which the kids devoured. I was skeptical but the udon noodles had the perfect shiitake mushrooms flavor and really were delicious. We ordered yellowtail jalepeno, another white tuna truffle, rock shrimp, edamame, gyoza, 355 roll, mikado inspiration sashimi and the chicken udon noodles. The host was sweet and helped in recommending items for our kids. The place is kid friendly. Highly recommended this place.“

“Bai Sushi may seem like a small run-of-the-mill takeout restaurant from the outside, but they are so much more. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff make for a wonderful dining experience. The food is amazing (raw or cooked). There’s something for everyone who likes Sushi or Japanese cuisine. They also accommodate if you have dietary needs. Sit in or take out, DEFINITELY stop by!!!“

“We love this place. Been there twice on the last month. I had a wonderful and plentiful sashimi. The fish was very fresh and delicious. My wife had the eel. The atmosphere is casual but super friendly. It's BYOB! Highly recommend this restuarant.
My wife says she loves that there is NO music which makes it a peaceful space. She also appreciates that there is a roomy feeling. It's not overcrowded.“

“Selection was amazing! Waitresses are very attentive. They keep your water cup filled. I went on a Saturday evening so the price was $38.99. A little pricey for all you can eat sushi. I called first and was told that it was $28.99, which informed my decision to go. But when I got there the sign said $38.99! ,"Oh well, we already traveled here, I could've sworn she said $28.." "What's an extra 20 bucks" Overall the food was amazingly prepared.“

“Was super excited to try some rolls tonight after a 12 hour work day, but unfortunately after 45 minutes of waiting patiently inside for them to be prepared they still were not ready and hadn’t even been started to be made. Staff not entirely apologetic. Asked for refund and won’t be back.“
“Love this place. I've tried the chicken beef and shrimp and they're all fresh and good tasting. Sauce isn't overly sweet like a lot of teriyaki. I've had some of the sushi too and it's fresh and cheap. Very nice employees, family run place and they offer a super cheap student meal to the kids which is admirable because they're better off getting some fresh protein, rice, and veggies than other cheap fast food in the area“

“We moved from Port Washington to MA this May and have been unable to find a spot that offers everything that Aki does, not to mention at the same quality! They just execute everything so well. It was our go to for sushi, we loved the apps (the crispy rice and jalapeño yellowtail are fire), and loved also having options for classic Chinese food. We loved that it offered a little bit of everything. We only ever ordered takeout but the service was always top notch too. We love and miss you Aki!“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pizza Paradise truly lives up to its name! 🍕✨ I catered from them for an event, and Michael was amazing — so helpful, responsive, and made the whole process effortless.
The food was a huge hit! 🤩 The specialty sushi disappeared instantly 🍣, and the MVP pizza pie — with pesto, marinara, and vodka sauces over melty mozzarella — was the star of the night. 🌟 BH the food kept coming.
If you’re looking for unforgettable flavors and top-notch service, this is the place. Can’t wait to go back! 💐“

“Went to Otaki Sushi for lunch and it was worth it. The service was on point; our server was super polite, always checking in, and she made sure our hot tea was never empty. The tea is really good and pipping hot not warm.
We had the salmon teriyaki bento boxes for $14, and you definitely get your money’s worth. The salmon was fresh, no fishy smell, cooked perfectly with a nice crust outside but still moist in the middle, and not drowning in sauce. It comes with broccoli, snow peas, and corn. I like my veggies crunchy so I enjoyed it, but if you like them softer, I’d just mention that when ordering.
The bento also came with California rolls, and those were really good too. Between the portion size, quality, and service, you leave full and happy. Five out of five.“

“We order take out from here maybe once a month and we always get a large order when we do. Their food is always fresh, flavorful, and leaving us feeling fulfilled and satisfied! Their rolls have an excellent filling to rice ratio! My youngest son loves their California Rolls and anytime we get them elsewhere, he says he prefers from Sushi You. They are very thoughtful of presentation, preparation, and protection of the food en route. Super friendly on the phone and they always double check the order placed. Thanks for your excellent food and service! We'll continue to support you!“
