“Always love coming here. Spectacular views! Short hike, but has a lot of stairs. For people in wheelchairs there is a shorter path that you can get some of the views from.

Also as a Succession fan I always think of that one Tom and Greg scene about “We’re listening!” That was filmed here. Shame there isn’t a plaque“

“Castle Café — Whiteface Mountain

Reached the summit via the ASRC trail after a demanding winter ascent through heavily iced terrain, with sections requiring a ice axe on the final approach. The Castle Café was closed. The summit itself and the Castle building remain an interesting destination regardless, with sweeping views over the Adirondack High Peaks, Lake Champlain, and the Green Mountains of Vermont. The structure is worth a look from the outside, and the observation area is accessible even when the café is closed. That said, for hikers counting on a warm stop and some food after a winter ascent, it is worth checking operating hours before heading out.“

“Great pit stop on the way home from a weekend of skiing!
Mom’s Hippie Salad was scrumptious!
The sweet and sour meatballs are perfect if you don’t feel like cooking—just heat them up at home.
Don’t miss the local cheeses, freshly baked goods, and be sure to grab a bag of Speeder and Earl’s hazelnut coffee—absolutely delicious + a cup for the road.“
